I read a comment here by one who misunderstands the character of God. He listed several instances where God wiped out the people, saying this was not unconditional love. These instances happened before Jesus came to die and rise from the dead and make for us a New Covenant with God. Thru it we obtained Grace and Mercy and a Holy Spirit to live within us, to teach us ALL things. It was before Grace, dear one. Do some research on the Grace of God, and you will gain understanding to the questions you have within.
If you Know God, continually communicate with Him, He will tell you exactly what you are to do as he guides you and leads you, as you walk together with Him, by His side.
Hornitos, my friend, I am sure this was what you wanted others to reflect upon, to examine themselves and realize that it isn't about being directed by men (pastors, etc.), but in knowing God as I have stated above. You were encouraging them to listen to Sherry Shriner, from whom they could gain understanding as to know God in a more intimate way, which would include allowing Him to share in their decision making, instead of doing their own will without His instruction. Getting back on track... the point of this post, I do believe, is Knowing the voice of God and obeying it. This comes thru intimacy with God, knowing him deeply, sharing a relationship with Him. Talking with Him (this requires listening on your part). He is an invisable being, yet more real than anything you can see with your eye in what you believe to be reality.
You may see yourself as "only human", when in fact, you are a spirit temporarily contained in an earthsuit (human body). The spirit world is in fact "reality". A vast Kingdom resides within you. Embark on the journey to discover who you really are. God lives in you, if you believe. He is not afar off. You may communicate with him constantly. He will direct you in all of your affairs and share secrets with you. He helps you to see things clearly, giving you wisdom. He does much more than this. He loves you! He IS love in its purest form. He enables you to love.
You must experience this love in order to know this love. You can not read about it in a book to know it, or hear others tell of it to know it. These things are only to let you know that this love does in fact exist. We know because He first loved us. And because His love lives in us, we love you. It grieves us to see you suffer because you misunderstand. To gain understanding, you must be still. Come to the quiet... and listen to the voice of God. He is waiting... to comfort you, give you rest, and spend time with you. Walk with Him and get to know Him. Then share the love.
Jesus only gave us two commandments when He made the new covenant. Love God and Love One Another.
It's not about "Religion", it's about a loving Relationship. It's what your heart yearns for, to love and be loved. Many of you are searching for this love here on CS. Let me ask you a question... If you have an electric drill, is it any good to you if you have no electrical outlet for a power source? No, it must be plugged into a power outlet to receive electric flow. If you want to receive love from a person, do they really have the love to give you if they are not plugged into the outlet from which love comes from? No, God is the power source of love. If you are "plugged in", the love flows thru you. You are then enabled to love others.
He is simple. He does not make Himself difficult to know. He just wants to share with you, to be your best friend, do everything with you. You would not be happy if your children paid no attention to you and never spent time with you or talked with you... totally ignored you. It would hurt you, wouldn't it? It hurts God in the same way. We are His creation and he wants to love us, not be rejected by us. We only hurt ourselves by not getting to know Him cos He has so many good things to share with us, if we would only come to Him and be still... and know... that He is God.

While the U.S. Navy’s encounter with 5 small Iranian boats in the Strait of Hormuz on January 6 resulted in widespread media coverage and aggressive posturing from the Bush administration, a much more serious naval encounter in November in the Taiwan Strait passed unremarked, both by the administration and by the press.
According to the Navy Times, which sourced its information from a Chinese-language daily newspaper in Taiwan, the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk and its battle group found themselves in a standoff with a Chinese Navy destroyer and submarine beginning on November 23.
According to the report, the U.S. carrier battle group was returning to its home port in Japan after China suddenly cancelled a long-scheduled holiday port call in Hong Kong. Entering the international waters of the Taiwan Strait, the Kitty Hawk and the accompanying ships of her battle group found themselves confronted by the Chinese missile destroyer Shenzhen and a Song-class attack submarine. The Navy Times reported that the encounter caused "the group to halt and ready for battle, as the Chinese vessels also stopped amid the 28-hour confrontation."

Even more frightening, perhaps, of the plans to merge the Western Nations lies in whom will be their new leader, and as advocated by a growing number of European Nations appears to be the former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair [pictured top left], and who upon leaving office last year immediately left for Rome where in a private audience with the Pope converted to Catholicism, of which we can read:

Though the significance of a Roman Catholic controlled Western Empire including the European Union and the United States is lost upon the citizens of those Nations, this is not so for either the Muslim or Eastern Nations, and who even now are preparing for Total War against the West as this war will be the decider of who not only controls the World, but who will control humanity.
As the twin forces of a Global economic meltdown and Global warming threaten the very survival of billions of human beings, and as these events are being manipulated for the purpose of destroying all opposition to the union of the Western Powers, the full horror of what is about to be unleashed upon these unsuspecting peoples is barely visible to them.

To the greater significance, however, of the warnings given by Queen Elizabeth and President Wilson on these unseen 'powers' behind, and manipulating, human events, lies in their plans to destroy the United States for 'their' planned creation of a new Western Empire incorporating what will remain of the US and the European Union.
Virtually unknown to the citizens of either the European Union or the United States are the all to real facts that the proposed merger between their various nations is already on the negotiating table, with no less a figure than the former French Prime Minister, Edouard Balladur, advocating such an alliance, and as we can read as reported by the International Herald Tribune News Service in their report titled "A Union of the West? The plan - currently being implemented by the Bush administration with the formation of the Transatlantic Economic Council in April 2007 - appears to be following a plan written in 1939 by a world-government advocate who sought to create a Transatlantic Union as an international governing body.
An economist from the World Bank has argued in print that the formation of the Transatlantic Common Market is designed to follow the blueprint of Jean Monnet, a key intellectual architect of the European Union, recognizing that economic integration must inevitably lead to political integration.
