I just picked blackberries too, but they are so plump and sweet, they required absolutely no sugar! I freeze them for my smoothies and add them to my cereal.
Just finished a bowl of Kashi brand "Cinnamon Harvest", certified "organic" whole wheat biscuits (like shreadded wheat). Woven into the center of each biscuit is a fusion of cinnamon and organic evaporated cane juice crystals. I added some "Nutty Nuggets" and poured Soy Milk over top and tossed in a handful of the blackberries.
I have to agree with shippy on this one. I was reading along, having a hard enough time believing what I was reading to be true, when I read McCain's name. The personal attack, typical of politicians today (make the other guy look bad to make us look good) made the article not believable at all! Very easy to see through this propaganda.
Last November, a new friend had enough Faith in me, encouraged me, believed in me, and loaned me the money to buy my Peterbilt. I have only known him for a few years.
I have helped thousands of people throughout my life. I have taken hundreds into my home who were homeless. I have given to others in abundance.
It has never come back to me until now.
It made me cry, to know that someone believed in ME, like I have believed in so many others.
Would you like to move to America and be my roomate??!!! Your rules are just like mine! No, we are not difficult to live with. Common sence and caring about yourself, others and your environment, groom you to do these things NATURALLY... Without being asked to!!!
BEB, I was just reading the news about your area. Of course I sent up prayers for you and your family!!! It is so devestating, what has happened to Iowa. It really saddens my heart. I am glad to see that you are alright.
I would like to ask all CS'ers who have FAITH, to please pray for those in Iowa. With all of the chemicals in the floodwaters, it will be awhile before the total dammage is assessed. Please interviene in whole hearted prayer, that dammage will be minimal. Iowans are some of the BEST people in our Nation!!! They are really different than people in the rest of the country. They do not deserve this!!! They have had their hardships in the past which has made them strong. I lift up all the families and loved ones in Iowa. I pray for their safety and that they will be in good health. Protect them Lord from ALL of the dangers. God is Faithful and will do more than we ask or imagine!!!
Thank you for our Friend, BlueEyedBlonde and her family. She is such a joy to all who know her. A faithful and sincere one. Thank you that they are alright. Continue to protect them.
I center myself in the love of God and open my heart to peace. As I enter the sanctuary of my soul in prayer, I let truth illumine my mind: God's love is the source of all good, and, therefore, the source of true peace. The desire of my heart for peace is not limited by any external appearances or needs. In the midst of any discord or upset, regardless of what is happening in my life or in the world, I center myself in the love of God and open my heart to peace. Strengthened by the power of pure love, I respond rather than react to life's challenging moments. Free from self-centered opinion or concern about potential outcomes, I am at peace spiritually. I make right choices calmly and thoughtfully. With a pure heart, I live a life that is serene and secure. I am one with God's love.
"Pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart."-2 Timothy 2:22
ooby, I do not see how you are surprised! I have made it very clear that I am a Ron Paul supporter and a Libertarian AND that I can not stand the Socialist Hitlary!!!
I am not a member of ERA nor a womans liber. I am simply a woman who has done what it takes to survive in this world, without a man to support me, just like many others have.
I would never vote for someone due to gender or race. I will vote for who has the interest of the people at heart and whom I believe will help us return to our Constitutional foundation.
A woman of intelligence would never do such a stupid thing! I don't have petty jealousies and whatever the task is at hand, I do get the job done.
The prize can be deceptive! Things are not always as they seem!
I do lots of things which many would try to categorize as OCD. I watched something recently on this and my daughter said that I was. I refuse to wear this label!!!
About 25 years ago, I kicked my sister out because I went to the freezer for icecubes for a drink and the trays were in the freezer... EMPTY!!! Many people have done this to me and it drives me NUTS!! (I now have icemakers in the freezers) I never run out of ice!
When I put dishes in the dishwasher, all the forks go in one section, spoons, knives, all in different compartments. Hey, it makes them easy to put away. Large plates all go in the same rack, then the small ones. Larger items to the rear. Top shelf must have the same size glasses in the same row, etc. Put something out of place and you will hear about it! Everything is perfectly organized in my home. I hate it when someone tells me they can't find something in my kitchen. It's so easy!!
In my closets, all of the clothes are hung according to what type of apparel and what color they are. Shoes of the same color go on the same rack also. Everything is nice and neat. Easy to find what I am looking for.
My roomie drinks from a plastic glass (her own which she brought with her), of course I lectured her on the dangers of plastic even though her defense was that she investigated the number of the plastic before buying it and it was "safe". I bought her a coffee mug which says "Trouble Maker"
You can save a buck on every gallon of gas with a few tricks of the driving trade. With a gallon of regular nearing four dollars at many pumps, most of us are looking for ways to get more out of what we've got. But, once you've already tuned up, checked your tire pressure, and are driving less what else can you do? Well, here are five clever fuel conservation secrets I recently picked-up from a real pro... a friend who drives a gypsy cab in San Francisco. (The fuel savings calculations are courtesy of AAA.)
1. Use your cruise control. This little piece of technology is much better at controlling speed than any human foot. Today's advanced cruise control devices can also optimize fuel/air mixture and other aspects engine performance. Potential Savings 15% to 20%
2. Shift Into Neutral Slipping your automatic transmission out of Drive at stoplights and on long downhill sections keeps the engine from fighting against your brakes and gravity. At a stoplight, an idling engine is still connected the wheels, which you're holding still via the brake. Your engine's energy just creates heat by stirring the transmission fluid. Shift into neutral, the motor will experience less drag and use less fuel. When going down long grades or hills, shifting out of drive keeps the wheels from pushing the engine and burning fuel unnecessarily. Use this technique only if you can maintain positive control of your vehicle and drive in a safe manner. (NOTE: Coasting down steep grades in neutral may actaully be illegal in some states.) Potential Savings 11 to 17%
3. Change your air filter The more air an engine gets, the more efficiently it runs. Changing a filter with scheduled service is rarely often enough. In the spring, when pollen fills the air, an air filter can lose as much as 50% of its efficiency is just a couple of weeks. Filters are generally inexpensive and most are easily changeable. Potential Savings 7% to 17%
4. Close your windows The additional drag created by open windows or a sun-roof can significantly decrease gas mileage, particularly at freeway speeds. As TV's Mythbusters proved, it's also better to drive with the pickup tailgate up, rather than down. Potential Savings 6% to 14%
5. Wash your car Just like the windows, anything you can do to increase the smooth flow of air over your car reduces drag and thereby increases gas mileage. A clean car always drives better anyway. Potential Savings - 3% to 7%
It is good that many of us have learned that the only way to get anywhere is to be responsible and do it ourselves, work for it, as you have stated.
What about people who think everyone OWES them something? Those with VICTIM mentality? Those who carry deep BITTERNESS within, who play the BLAME GAME?
Not everyone has arrived to the level of Responsibility they should be at. Not everyone has OVERCOME the burdens which have been laid on them.
I believe that as Responsible Overcommers, that we should be here to encourage those who are still struggling. Not an enablers, but as a strength, to show them a better way, to share our stories that they may know that they too can Overcome lifes difficulites and be responsible and have JOY!
This is why I post these types of interacting threads. Not for the purpose of exposing the faults of others, that they may be rediculed!!! I would hope that to NEVER happen on these threads. But that we may be able to help others to live in the FREEDOM which was ment to be theirs!
Now Indy, I would like you to think on this... In reference to your last statement, "(on a side note, when I hear people ask presidential candidates, "what are you going to do for me?" I ) How pathetic..." Noooooooooooo! These politicians are elected by the people, for the purpose of representing the people and the desires of the people. It is all about what they are going to do for US if elected!!! Too many politicians as of late, have NOT listened to the people. They are doing whatever they want, not what the people want. In this light, I would ask you to reconsider your statement.
I have an adopted Turkish son. I have pics of him and his beautiful girlfriend on the beaches of Turkey. He has recently graduated college in Germany... Law School. He is now a Lawyer. But he has to do some time in the Turkish Military so he will be gone for awhile. He is also in a rock band. I am so Proud of him!!!
Trish, I am sure you must have some words of wisdom for us concerning this matter. Please give it some thought and come back to post when you get time.
2 tablespoons Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar 2 tablespoons Honey Fill 8 ounce glass with distilled water and stir good
Drink this 3 times a day.
It will cure your stomach ulcer. Also can cure Rhumatoid Arthritus in 5 days!!!
If this seems a little strong to you, try using 1 tablespoon of ACV and 1 tablespoon of honey with the 8 ounces of water. When you get used to it, after a day or two, then increase to 2 tablespoons of each.
Completely wanna give my love Completely I'd rather be alone than be in love just half the way I want to find someone that I can trust completely Wanna give my heart completely To someone who'll completely give their heart to only me And when I find that one That's when I'll fall in love
Chorus: Completely Not half but whole With heart and soul Completely not in between But everything Completely That's the way it's got to be The way I want someone to Fall in love with me
Forever wanna feel the world Forever And know there'll be Somebody there forever By my side And when that feeling comes That's when I'll give my love
Chorus: Completely Not half but whole With heart and soul Completely not in between But everything Completely That's the way it's got to be The way I want someone to Fall in love with me
It's all or nothing at all For this heart of mine And I won't give up This heart till the day I find Somebody who can be Someone who loves me
Chorus: Completely Not half but whole With heart and soul Completely not in between But everything Completely That's the way it's got to be The way I want someone to fall in love with me
The song is "Completely" by one of my Favorite Artists... Michael Bolton!!!
This is the kind of Love I am waiting for, and Nothing less than this, will I settle for. I feel it is important that we do not COMPROMISE what we truely want. If it's not ALL there... Get Rid Of IT!!!! We are searching for and waiting for our HEARTS DESIRE. Give your heart nothing less than what is seeks, in ALL its FULLNESS!
Please share your thoughts on this. Also, share your struggles, consequences, hurts, due to settling for LESS in past relationships.
So far, the pole shows 100% of the votes reflect that GW should go to Jail, go directly to Jail, do not pass Go and do not collect Presidential Retirement!!!!!
That's why we really should let time bring us together with others, and be flexible. So often we want to put people in boxes due to a comment they have made. We need to realize that the one statement does not make up the whole person. Also, that person may change in time, to be someone who really tugs on our heartstrings. Sometimes differences help us to examine ourselves, that we may make changes. It works just as well when we think we really like someone when we first meet them. As we get to know more about them, we see that we can't stand them, ha ha ha! So... the saying "Time will tell" seems to be a good rule of measure. We should not be hasty in our decision of who a person is and if we like them or not. That's why the forums are good for finding out where people really stand, watching their interactions with others. See how they handle themselves in different situations.
