RE: who here believes, to find a good man/woman one should go to church?

What you have stated here is true. Very sad but TRUE!
I have served the destitute, poor and downtrodden, on my own and have never had any support from the churches. Even the people would not give of their time. Even some Pastors advised people who helped me feed the homeless in Fort Worth, NOT to do it, or they would become just like them!!! This is ABSURD!!! The people really enjoyed going and singing and feeding the homeless. They quit doing it cos the Pastor told them not to! I do not listen to man. I listen to the Spirit within me who says to do it! I only went to church in latter years, for the WORSHIP, cos I love to worship my Lord! It is a personal thing, as it should be for all.

Many churches DO hurt people, and this should not be! I did find that going to church for coorporate worship was like filling up my gas tank so that I could continue ministering to the destitute, poor and needy.
It's all in personal choice. I worship at home these days and continue to find strength in the Love of God, which he will give, no matter where you are.

RE: who here believes, to find a good man/woman one should go to church?

wave Hi Trish!!! I love you so much and have missed talking with you. Work has kept me sooooo busy lately.

Now I am currious, as you are athiest. Spiritual practices? YOU?
I see so much GOOD in YOU Trish. I truely LOVE you!!! I know that I am a special friend to you too. I am not validating the church here. I have gone beyond the church. I have found much falseness in churches, yet I learned in 20 years, very much through the spiritfilled churches. I do not live by any "doctrine". I despise "religion". I believe in many other things in which churches teach against. Some may refer to it as "New Age" teaching. All I can say is that the Holy Spirit has led me to this level, and that Spirituality has different levels. As it also has many different beliefs.

Please correct me if I am wrong here, but I have thought athiesism to mean that a person would have no Spiritual connection to anything. It would mean what will be will be, self is responsible for all. According to your comment, I am totally wrong in my perception. ??? Perhaps you are not athiest at all??? I am being friendly and ignorant here. Enlighten me please. I only wish to gain understanding. Or could athiesism be like christianity, many different kinds with different beliefs? dunno

RE: Wishing Mindfful........

I have been everywhere but on CS... working!!!

super Hope you had a VERY happy birthday

RE: who here believes, to find a good man/woman one should go to church?

hug I love you girl!!! Thanks for sharing... so much truth!!!

RE: who here believes, to find a good man/woman one should go to church?

You are only missing something here if you are not looking to be spiritually connected to someone, which is the purpose to looking in church for a mate.

Since you have stated that you are athiest, then of course church would not be the place for you to seek a mate. I say this to you in love. You would not be a right mate to someone who lives their life by spiritual beliefs.

Most churches are full of married couples with children and very few singles. I have not found anyone of my age in a church who was to my liking. If you are on a spiritual journey, then meeting someone in a bar is not the place either. For those who are on the journey, church can help them work through their differences and grow to be better people. It gives understanding of unconditional love, it helps them grow. That is if the church is a good one. There are many churches who serve Poison on their menus. One must have discernment to know if they are in a good place or not. Just because it is a church does not mean they speak truth!!! Only the Holy Spirit can reveal the truth to the individual.

I am speaking in general here in reference to your post. I do not in anyway condemn you for your choice in athiesism. I would only hope to explain the differences concerning those who wish to be equally yoked together with those who "believe".

RE: who here believes, to find a good man/woman one should go to church?

Pastors will tell you that it is WRONG to Church Hop... Possibly they fear you will take your money to the other churches???
This should not be!!
It is just fine to Church Hop. You do not eat the same meals every day do you? When you go to church, you go to feed your Spirit. The same meal tends to get BORING! It is good to have friends and form new relationships in the same church. BUt there is nothing wrong with going out to dinner at different churches! Who knows... you may meet your future mate there!

I attended church for 20 years recently, all over the country and have met many fine people. Some churches are just not for me, I felt uncomfortable, so I did not return. Others were fantastic! I suggest searching until you find one with life and acceptance, which you are comfortable with.

Churches are NOT full of PERFECT people!!!! Everyone is on a journey, seeking self-improvement. The church can be a stepping stone, to help you on your way. Some have evolved to go beyond the church.

I have a very intimate Relationship with the Holy Spirit. I no longer attend church to learn. If I attend, it is only with the instruction of the Holy Spirit, as he may have someone there whom He wants me to minister to that day. In the same sence, I will go down to the bar if he instructs me to, for a divine apointment.

It is not about Religion! It's about unconditional LOVE!! If you do not know it, then you should go to church, until it becomes a part of you.

Firelighter, you are a very good person. You do not need to be swayed by another to attend church. But should you meet a lady whom you are very attracted to and she does attend church regularly. Perhaps attending with her will strengthen your relationship.

Picture a triangle. God is at the top of it. You are at one corner and she is at the other corner. There are ladders from each corner going to the top, towards God. As you both climb the ladders, the distance between the two of you becomes less.

Marriage is Triune. Man, woman and God, a three cord rope which can not be broken. With God being LOVE, Love is what unites you together. This is true in ALL relationships, even friendships. We must always BE LOVE to others. This is what makes us successful through life.

I believe that if there is a GOD whom we will ALL stand before at sometime, He will ask us only ONE question... Did YOU Love???

What's Up With This???

The article mentioned Nothing of how he was treated.

I would think that the Military court, entrusted by the Pentagon and the President, would want to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. Afterall, this was concerning 9/11 which led to the Iraq war!

If they do not see the connection, perhaps the LIES we have been fed are just that... LIES!!!

I am hoping that more will be exposed through these trials that will prove once and for all that blaming these people solely for 9/11 is the INJUSTICE!

Wake up and smell the coffee!frustrated

What's Up With This???

I just finished reading an article where Osama bin Laden's driver was given only 5 1/2 years and could be released from Guantanamo later this year.

He was tried by a U.S. Military Judge and Jury.

They don't seem to believe as the Bush Administration and the Pentagon do.

Could it be that we have been HOODWINKED???

read the article and post your opinions please!!

Price At The Pump

very mad

Price At The Pump

Gas has fallen 5.6 percent since hitting an-all time high above $4 a gallon on July 17, but hasn't kept up with oil's steep descent.

Don't you think they have ripped us off for long enough?
Shouldn't the pump price reflect such a dramatic descent?
They sure didn't waste any time raising the prices!!!

:verymad:

I would love to be Solitare!!!
To gain all of the knowledge in his head, know all of what he has ever read in books or seen on film, see what he sees through his eyes in his artwork, and see the most magnificent wonders of the world through his travels, then relax at the end of the day in his cozy winecellar!!!

I would somehow record it all so that when I become me again tomarrow, I would never be the same again, having had this experience and attained a knowledge base of wisdom.

It would be TOTALLY AWESOME!!!

RE: The worlds future transportation fuel

I am in the same boat with you ooby. I have not been able to figure out why diesel fuel cost more. All I can figure is that the greedy investors know that we use more fuel, so they jacked it up. Everyone always wants a piece of the trucking industries pie!

It felt good to see the price comming down this week. I paid $4.15 per gallon yesterday, on the yard. Our cost is 20 cents per gallon below the price on the street. It was $4.59 last weekend. Of course it needs to come down a whole lot more!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: this is neat!!

Suptle??

I want the dress! I had one like it. It was a green sequin dress. I loved it.

Loaned it to a GF in Texas...

She still has it.

I sure miss that dress!!!

Size 3... YES!

I am only 100 lbs.

RE: what you folks think about the Old rockers still kik'n out lyrics even though they are seniors

I see that the MOODY BLUES are currently touring the UK.

On your scale, the tour would be cancelled.

They are one of the greatest groups to ever perform.

Their music is MUSIC, not a bunch of screaming and noise!!!

I must disagree with you here.

Some things get better with age, like a fine wine.

Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood are great examples. Their new releases continue to be better and better.

I will never get sick of Classic Rock. It's what I grew up on. I have been to hundreds of concerts.

These people are true musicians and many of them graduated from Juliard. More than I can say for the noise makers of today.

RE: Do you have a bible at home?

Well of course you will need intelligence to decipher the message.

What I am saying is that the overall message of the Bible is LOVE.

Very simply put... it's about LOVE!

RE: Do you have a bible at home?

Here is a clue for deciphering...

LOVE!!!!!

RE: this is neat!!

Dressed like that, I would say it must be true Shippy...
Except maybe the part about you winning?dunno

Can you give me a clue as to why you are dressed in DRAG???

And... I really would like to have that dress, if it will fit me.
(It's probably too large, I wear a 3).

RE: Lose weight quick

Very good advice girl!

Also, drink a FULL Large glass of water BEFORE every meal.
It will cause you to feel Full, and you will eat less food.
Raw fruits and veggies will help cleans your system of all those mean dirty anti-oxitants and toxins!

White sugar and white flour = Public enemy #1

RE: hi everyone

Great dress Shippy!
May I borrow it when you are done wearing it?

RE: The worlds future transportation fuel

Please look into the Jatropha Plant... it is a much better choice for making biofuel.

Food versus Fuel

Rushing to turn food crops — maize, wheat, sugar, palm oil — into fuel for cars, without first examining the impact on global hunger, would be a recipe for disaster. Among the potential impacts identified are increasing food prices, increasing competition over land and forests, forced evictions, impacts on employment and conditions of work, and increasing prices and scarcity of water. That is why Jatropha was recently recommended as a biofuels crop for developing countries by UN Special Rapporteur on the right to food.

In recent years, the Indian government has shown a major interest in Jatropha, and alongside other developing countries, a number of international groups are now sharing this interest. There have been substantial political and social pressures to promote the growing of such crops (in particular Jatropha curcas) in India, as a means of economic empowerment, social upliftment and poverty alleviation within marginalized communities.

Government of India has selected the plant for National Program compared to others due to followings:
Low cost seeds
High oil content
Small gestation period
Growth on good and degraded soil
Growth in low and high rainfall areas
Seeds can be harvested in non-rainy season
Plant size is making collection of seeds more convenient

Of all the above prospective plant candidates as bio-diesel yielding sources, Jatropha curcas is standing "at the top" and "sufficient information” on this plant is already available.

RELAX

I am in God's presence, relaxed and renewed in mind, body, and spirit.
A vacation is a time of escape from daily routines-a time to leave the workplace, visit new places, or spend time with family and friends. It is a time to relax and renew my mind, body, and spirit.
While it is nice to plan a trip and fun to go places I have never been before, it is not always necessary to leave my home or even my desk to relax. When I take time to view a sunrise or sunset, to listen to birdsongs around me, or just empty my mind of all thoughts for a few precious moments, I tune in to the presence of God within me. I relax mentally and physically.
Taking a break from my normal routine rejuvenates me and helps me see my life more clearly. Whatever I am doing, I can always benefit from a few moments of relaxation and return to my day renewed and energized.
"My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."-Exodus 33:14
