What a Black Columnist has to say about Obama

Princess, since you did provide me with the real title of the article, of which I did not know before you wrote it, I went to the source, the New York Sun. Here it is:

Beyond Obama's Beauty
By KENNETH BLACKWELL | February 14, 2008

"Civilizational war is real, even if political leaders and polite punditry must call it by another name."

— Robert D. Kaplan in the December 2001 issue of the Atlantic Monthly

It's an amazing time to be alive in America. We're in a year of firsts in this presidential election: the first viable woman candidate; the first viable African-American candidate; and, a candidate who is the first frontrunning freedom fighter over 70. The next president of America will be a first.

We won't truly be in an election of firsts, however, until we judge every candidate by where they stand. We won't arrive where we should be until we no longer talk about skin color or gender.

... And the article goes on to say the same.

Mr. Blackwell is in fact a columnist for the New York Sun.

As stated previously, the title I posted and googled was the title I received in an email which produced 251 results on the google search.

What a Black Columnist has to say about Obama

You are BUSTED! I googled your communist title search, lol, 2 results.

There were 251 google results for my title. Talk about trying to mislead people into believing with you... Surely you can do better than this.

What a Black Columnist has to say about Obama

rolling on the floor laughing You really believe that the article you found which read that the author was "A communist for the NY Times" is correct???

I was not aware that the Times was admiting their columnist were communist.

What a Black Columnist has to say about Obama

Why on earth would I do it? Because the only thing I know about Obama is what I read in his ebook which I downloaded from his website. It all sounded pretty good. Even my son-in-law who is Aryan was convinced, said we need change, and voted for him. Now, I read this article and I want to know if anyone who knows more about Obama can clarify any of this for me.

Many of the articles I post, I do for the same reason. Never assume that just because someone posts something, that they believe it. Do you ever listen to radio programs when they give a "disclaimer"? IT does not mean that the station or its producers are in agreement with what was broadcast, or words to that effect?

I like fishing. Perhaps I am fishing for intelligence. Go figure...

This is a dating site, you know.

And an intelligent mind REALLY TURNS ME ON!!!!!

princess4someone wrote: oh yeh, still wondering why you felt the need for the "black columnist" maybe you can just answer that ONE question.........

I have about had it with you people who can not read!
Go back and read through the pages AGAIN.

I DID answer the question quite thoroughly!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a Black Columnist has to say about Obama

Myself, I think of the anti-christ as more of being a spirit.

I would think... the spirit of Communism. That that once was, then was not, then is again.

As princess4someone pointed out on page 1, AGAIN.

I believe that Communism will be the one world government.

NOW, I am voicing my opinion and remember, this discussion is in reference to a comment given, not the article itself.

Still waiting for anyone who can debunk the article, proving that Obama is not envolved in what the author has stated.

What a Black Columnist has to say about Obama

Woah!!!! Rick... the stuff in my 3rd post was NOT part of the article!!!!

It was a comment!!!!!!

The article NEVER says Obama is the anti-christ.

doh

What a Black Columnist has to say about Obama

Robert, I am still promoting Ron Paul.

I did not write this article. As I have stated before, read my last post. I am tired of saying it.

Still... no one has produced any evidence as to if this article is true or not.

Someone please enlighten me.

If Obama's supporters don't know... do they really know him? They of all people should know, I would think.

I know where my candidate stands and what position he takes. He doesn't operate with secret agendas.

More than I can say for those who oppose him.

RE: Politics and Religion

Popette Trish...

Can I bow down and kiss your ring???

RE: Politics and Religion

Solitare, I must agree with you concerning the Amish and Mennonites. They are wonderful people. I study a little of Mary Baker Eddy and her Christian Science teachings. I find nothing wrong with them. I also enjoy reading their paper. I have not found any of them in this area, as I live remote. I do fellowship with the Seventh Day Adventist here, as there are many in this area. They live a healthy lifestyle and I have learned much from them in their vegan cooking classes. The particular church I attend is one where the staff of the Lifestyle Center of America attend. I love interacting with the doctors, dieticians, nurses and staff. We have open discussions durring Sabath School and I see that this particular group is growing to think for themselves and discern between today and the teachings of Ellen White, rather laying aside some of her messages as "old hat".

Religions can be very slavish, and as a whole, I am very anti-religion.

What a Black Columnist has to say about Obama

Excuse me????

Just when was that rule written? I have the responsibility to get the evidence?

If I wanted to do that, I would not have posted it here.

I am seeking interaction here.

You have continually made cutting remarks and attacked my character. I asked you to be productive to the thread.

Enough said... You just DON'T get it.

Why don't you go look for Prince Charming? peace

RE: Saddest & scariest in a long time

Many here act surprised and wonder how can this be?

Many years ago, in 1970, I was a high school student. Our English teacher gave us an assignment with several different subjects, of which we were to choose one and write an article.

I chose "Violence on TV".

I wrote of televisions being babysitters for children. And the long-term effect all of the hours spent in front of the television watching violent programs would have on our youth and kids.

In conclusion, I stated that I believed that it would result in violent behavior exhibited by those who watched it. The younger mind is not developed enough to discern reality from "it's only a movie". They are programmed to believe, by the tv, that if you have a problem with another person, you harm or kill them. This is the way they settle it on the screen.

I am not a bit surprised by this behavior. They learned it from the television and movies. Also, the games they play on x-box.

And yes, it's tragic.

I raised my daughter without a tv for 12 years until a friend felt sorry for us and gave us his old one when he bought a new one. LOL, he just didnt understand that we did not want to be programed by the tv.

Myself, I still do not watch it. I don't watch violent movies. I love a good comedy now and then. I don't like to see people get hurt.

I am a very spiritual person, as I have been to hell and lived to tell about it. I am not fear motivated and I hate the religious rant of "Turn or Burn". I do not live by the Bible. I believe it is what it is. A book of Testimonies of peoples interactions with an invisable being known to them as Yahweh, Jehova, or God; both before and after Jesus of Nazareth walked on the earth and arose from the dead. I have a personal relationship with an invisible being, full of Wisdom and LOVE.

By reading these stories, or testimonies, we can understand that God will do the same in our lives, if only we believe.

There were visions and prophetic writings which are recorded in the Bible, referencing future events, particularly the "end times", recorded in the book of Revelations, which was a vision revealing the end times, given to John the apostle, one who walked with Jesus. This book is very detailed and many look to it as a reference as to where we are at today compared to the end time prophecy. Many things stated in the book of revelation, many believe they are happening now.

This is why so many make the comparison. They believe the Bible to be a reliable source.

You won't find what I have written on wikipedia or any other source. I wrote it myself. HealthyLiving

What a Black Columnist has to say about Obama

I believe Ron Paul to be a libertarian who's desire is to follow Thomas Jefferson and the founding fathers. He is a Libertarian and of that party, running on the Republican ticket as a 3rd party would have no chance of winning the Presidency. He has run 3rd party previously. He has NEVER voted for ANY bill which was against the US Constitution. His record speaks for itself. He has been a Texas Congressman for over 20 years. He is also an OBGYN who has delivered over 4,000 babies into this world. He is against Big Government and wants to return the government to the individual states. He wants to Abolish the Federal Reserve and the IRS, both are private companies NOT part of our government.

A TRUE Conservative, as those were in the past, before all of the corruption.

Look, you, being a democrat, will Never see eye to eye with me, so lets just agree to disagree. We still have that Freedom here in America. We do not have to see things the same way. I do feel that we can get our point across in a positive way, and not be demeaning to other posters. I can accept your viewpoint as your viewpoint without putting you down and slandering you. Since you came on me with an attack, I will stand up for myself, especially since I posted this thread.

Now, let's get back to the issue here.

Are there things about Obama that we do not know, which are being hidden from us which are important to having him be our next President? I would like to see comments concerning this.

What a Black Columnist has to say about Obama

No paranoia here, none at all.

You say you did not condemn me? Then what do you call this statement that I quote which you wrote to me. "I figured that you were right wing extremist anyway, but ya just might wanna announce it for those who can't spot one..."

This is what my reply was concerning.

A Patriot stands up for the US Constitution and the rights of the people to govern themselves by representatives who listen to the people and vote according to their desires. I do not endorse a government who takes authority from the individual states and makes it Federal. This form of government is a dictatorship of which I am Strongly AGAINST.

I served in the USAF durring and post vietnam. I wholy and completely support a FREE AMERICA! I am against GLOBALISM!

What a Black Columnist has to say about Obama

One reason I hate catergorization: How can you possibly put Communism and Libertarians on the same side of the wing?

Absolutely ludicrous!

I am libertarian, a Ron Paul supporter and delegate for our state.
Support Obama all you want. Many are undecided on who to vote for. If I can influence their vote in any way, I will. I have given equal time to Hillary in another thread. And in time, I am sure I will also expose McCain. I am a Constitutionist and true Patriot. If you want to condemn me for that, then as far as I am concerned, you are among the Terrorists and those who want globalism and our National Sovereignty destroyed. So be it!

Where to buy American (not foreign) Gasoline

Are you aware that the Saudis are boycotting American products? Shouldn't we return the favor ? ; Can't we take control of our own destiny and let these giant oil importers know who REALLY generates their profits, their livings? How about leaving American Dollars in America and reduce the import/export deficit?

An appealing remedy might be to boycott their GAS. Every time you fill up your car you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia. Just purchase gas from companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.

Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill up my tank, I'm sending my money to people who I get the impression want me, my family and my friends dead. Don't you think it might be of interest to know which oil companies import Middle Eastern oil and which do not?

These companies import Middle Eastern oil:

Shell............................. ...... 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco.................. 144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil....................... 130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway............117,740,000 barrels
Amoco................................ 62,231,000 barrels

And CITGO / PETRO oil is imported from Venezuela by Dictator Hugo Chavez who hates America and openly avows our economic destruction! (We pay Chavez's regime nearly $10 Billion per year in oil revenues!)

The U.S. currently imports 5,517,000 barrels of crude oil per day from OPEC. If you do the math at $95 per barrel, that's over $524 million PER DAY ($191 BILLION per year!) handed over to OPEC, many of whose members are our confirmed enemies!!!!!

Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:

Sunoco...................... 0 barrels
Conoco....................... 0 barrels
Sinclair....................... 0 barrels
BP / Phillips................ 0 barrels
Hess. ........................ 0 barrels
ARC0.......................... 0 barrels
Maverick..................... 0 barrels
Flying J. .................... 0 barrels
Valero......................... 0 barrels

All of this information is available from the U.S. Department of Energy and each company is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing.

What a Black Columnist has to say about Obama

Kind of scary, wouldn't you think
Remember--God is good, and is in time, on time--every time.
According to The Book of Revelations the anti-christ is:
The anti-christ will be a man, in his 40s, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal....the prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy everything. Is it OBAMA??

If you think I am crazy..Im sorry but I refuse to take a chance on the 'unknown' candidate.

What a Black Columnist has to say about Obama

Ken Blackwell - Columnist for the New York Sun

It's an amazing time to be alive in America. We're in a year of firsts in this presidential election: the first viable woman candidate; the first viable African-American candidate; and, a candidate who is the first frontrunning freedom fighter over 70. The next president of America will be a first.

We won't truly be in an election of firsts, however, until we judge every candidate by where they stand. We won't arrive where we should be until we no longer talk about skin color or gender. Now that Barack Obama steps to the front of the Democratic field, we need to stop talking about his race, and start talking about his policies and his politics.

The reality is this: Though the Democrats will not have a nominee until August, unless Hillary Clinton drops out, Mr. Obama is now the frontrunner, and its time America takes a closer and deeper look at him.
Some pundits are calling him the next John F. Kennedy. He's not. He's the next George McGovern. And it's time people learned the facts.

Because the truth is that Mr. Obama is the single most liberal senator in the entire U.S. Senate. He is more liberal than Ted Kennedy, Bernie Sanders, or Mrs. Clinton. Never in my life have I seen a presidential frontrunner whose rhetoric is so far removed from his record. Walter Mondale promised to raise our taxes, and he lost. George McGovern promised military weakness, and he lost. Michael Dukakis promised a liberal domestic agenda, and he l ost.

Yet Mr. Obama is promising all those things, and he's not behind in the polls. Why? Because the press has dealt with him as if he were in a beauty pageant. Mr. Obama talks about getting past party, getting past red and blue, to lead the United States of America. But let's look at the more defined strokes of who he is underneath this superficial 'beauty.'

Start with national security, since the president's most important duties are as commander-in-chief. Over the summer, Mr. Obama talked about invading Pakistan, a nation armed with nuclear weapons; meeting without preconditions with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who vows to destroy Israel and create another Holocaust; and Kim Jong II, who is murdering and starving his people, but emphasized that the nuclear option was off the table against terrorists - something no president has ever taken off the table since we created nuclear weapons in the 1940s. Even Democrats who have worked in national security condemned all of those remarks. Mr. Obama is a foreign-policy novice who would put our national security at risk.

Next, consider economic policy. For all its faults, our health care system is the strongest in the world. And free trade agreements, created by Bill Clinton as well as President Bush, have made more goods more affordable so that even people of modest means can live a life that no one imagined a generation ago. Yet Mr. Obama promises to raise taxes on 'the rich.' How to fix Social Security? Raise taxes. How to fix Medicare? Raise taxes. Prescription drugs? Raise taxes. Free college? Raise taxes. Socialize medicine? Raise taxes. His solution to everything is to have government take it over. Big Brother on steroids, funded by your paycheck.

RE: Conditioning-Help or Hinderance?

I have learned through experiences that it hinders our growth when we can not get past our past.

Overcomming hurts is very hard to do, but it can be done by re-conditioning the mind. We must realize that every circumstance will have it's own outcome. A different one, as long as we do not manipulate the situation to form the same kind of reaction we have had in the past.

If we react in a way because of past hurts, we then reinact our negative behavior producing the same negative results. Most people do not want to participate in the distructiveness of this kind of relationship, so the relationship will end.

Maturity is contributed to one who has learned to overcome this type of behavior and has developed a healthy way of thinking which does not take a destructive course.

Unfortunately, we just don't seem to "get it" by others telling us. We have to live and learn through our own experiences and efforts.

This is a process, learning to do this and not react as previously conditioned. For myself, the Holy Spirit helped me to learn to do this.
He helped and encouraged me to tear down the wall I had built. He said I would never experience love in its fullness if I had a wall, for the wall took up the space where the love would live.

Now, through many years of taking out the trash (stinkin thinkin, negative self-talk, lies) a place has been created within me where love lives in all of its fullness. This is HealthyLiving! kiss
