RE: Some tips please, for long distance travel soon

My fav is an iTouch, like an iPod but you can put movies and music on it, comes with headphones, the sound and vid is pretty decent, and being able to choose your own movies is great.

if you dont have gum, just making the chewing motion will help as well.

RE: 14 Points of fascism: The warning signs pt1

where she is, unless you live in the rich end (on the water) is as poor these days as where I am and I just happen to right across the river, though I cant afford rich folks homes. There is a very wide division in much of michigan between the haves and have nots and its getting wider. That is about the only thing that compares to detroit, where that division has always been a major problem.

RE: what if god really was one of us

Actually empirical evidence is the only thing that will explain it. We're just lacking some of the information to totally explain it all of course. Thats kind of the point of science, to get at empirical evidence... that too evolves and builds upon itself as the evidence presents itself to any of our senses as an 'observable' constant. wine

The only sense that has any difficulty with this, is our sixth sense, which tends to want to fill in the knowledge gaps with some fantastic, magic phenonema, like god or quantum mechanics; things that are far from evidential..

"The further the spiritual evolution of mankind advances, the more certain it seems to me that the path to genuine religiosity does not lie through the fear of life, and the fear of death, and blind faith, but through striving after rational knowledge."

RE: God vs. Science

thumbs up cool

some good posts and a few kooks as well laugh informative, especially the cosmology threads.

have you ever spent any time at ted.com ?

Some kooks there too and gov. asses there as well, like Al Goreyourwallet laugh but overall some extremely informative and advanced techs from some of the brightest minds of our time, in many disciplines, including memeticists and stem cell research, that has taken leaps and bounds. One of my favorite sites for keeping up on what "non governmental' minds are uncovering.

RE: God vs. Science

Neptune's moon Titan, contains all the organic material necessary for life, in its atmosphere, but the moon itself is too cold to support it (as far as they know at this point) There is a chance other forms of life can exist extreme cold but they havent been able to get that close yet ... and that is possible life in our own solar system on one of our planets besides earth. Increasesthe probabilty of life on any of the billions of planets in the universe, if you didnt beleive there was a certain possibility before.

RE: God vs. Science

I only get that over lumber and women .. laugh figured things.. smitten

the dimensional, hologram stuff just isn't something that gets me hard.... and cosmology has totally changed what they think about the universe and how it developes, evolves itself. Quantums and quarks and strings are about as provebale as god ... and there's still plenty of QM theorists out there... I think they are nuts, giggle maybe one will come along and debate grin

RE: God vs. Science

lightbulb I think your use of the words 'god source' and higher power', implies that there is a pot or god at the end ot the rainbow ....

hmmm what history are you checking, pre-sumerain, since the first civ to give us written accounts was the Sumerians? confused

RE: God vs. Science

who wrote them? There was thread not long ago, asking for Contemporary writers in Jesus time. It seems these would be defintive proof if you have them or where they are.

if youre speaking of Josephus, we have been there before and he's a non issue. dunno
