A middle aged couple was attending a healing service at their local church. The Pastor announced that people with any afflictions to their body should lay their right hands over the part of the body that was affected, so that he could say a special prayer for specified organ or limb. The lady put her hand across her chest because of her weak heart and closed her eyes. Suddenly, she wondered where her husband had placed his hand. She sat up, opened her eyes, and, turning her head, she saw him laying his hand across his crotch. Immediately, she tapped him on the arm and remarked, "the Pastor is healing the sick, not raising the dead!"
You've got to give it time - this is not a store where you can walk in, browse through the racks and pick what you want. Lounge in the forums, put in your two cents, check out what others have to say with a special eye on the ladies in your age group. Send out flowers - they cost nothing but could get you in touch with a lot of nice ppl. You are a good looking lad - so hang in there.
The other day my younger daughter was having a chat with me about relationships and she went 'I want you to be happy but I don't want you to be like other moms who marry several times'. I was like 'hold your horses, I'm still not out of the first one yet and have no inclination to enter a second one any time in the distant future'.
Do you think kids feel ashamed of their parents who marry several times?
I think its best to lounge in here without any expectations. Enjoy the forums, have a beer and watch the action go by. Put in your two cents if you have something to say or put in your two cents even if you have nothing to say (then sit under your umbrella) and wait for the brickbats if you know your two cents is gonna pee some folks off.
Personally, I like it in here. There are some (no, make that many) nice people around and although I have not got to the stage where I can do a 'Queen Elizabeth' (you know, wave to this one, say hi to that one, nod to another) I'm doing alright.
Namaste Holly! Greetings from India! Yes, many young Indian professionals based abroad are turning to India for prospective partners. Guess it has a lot to do with cultural and religious issues. Would you like someone from here??
In India, arranged marriages are still the norm with a pretty high success rate. Yes, a lot of the time the unions are about business ties and keeping the wealth within the community. Sad but true, child marriages are still prevalent in remote parts of the country - a boy and girl of about 6-8 years are married; the girl remains with her family till she reaches puberty and then is sent off to her husband. So whether it is a social evil or not, really depends on one's perspective.
A single dad with twins - wow! You have my admiration and sympathies. I have 2 who are 15 months apart but I did not know what sleep meant for 2 whole years. My only advice to you is - sleep when they sleep.
Concentrate on learning to CLICK with your camera and stop fretting about not CLICKING with the folks in your class - they are just in transit and will walk out of your life after 9 months. So go on, you can do it!! Grind your teeth and grin coz some of them may have real good ideas that you could learn from.
