The Moselem Sabbath day is on Friday; the Christian Sabbath day is on Sunday; and the Jewish Sabbath day is on Saturday.
Now it happened that in a Small village in the Land of Israel that Mohammed the Moslem, Peter the Christian, and Aaron the Jew were the best of friends. Each of them observed his own Sabbath day.
One Autumn Friday, Aaron and Peter set out to work their fields while Mohammed stayed home to observe his day of rest. As Aaron and Peter worked their own fields, both noticed Mohammed's field was only half plowed. They also noticed it looked like rain on the morrow.
Both thought to himself, Since Mohammed can do no work today, and with the coming rain, my friend's field may not be plowed in time for the sowing of grain. Why dont I plow his field, that will make it a little easier for him and pehaps save his crops for the year... w/o a word to each other, each began to plow Mohammed's field simultaneously. One from the west and one from the east 'til they finished the entire field.
The next day Mohammed went out to work his field, finding it all plowed. Marveling, he said, I didn't finish plowing my field, yet it is all plowed. He raised his hands to the heavens saying Surely, G-d sent His Angels to plow my field while I observed His Day of Rest.
Months passed and the three friends crops florished. Harvest Season arrived. One Sunday morn Peter stayed @ home to observe his Sabbath. Aaron and Mohammed were out in their fields. As they worked their fields, they noticed the corn in Peter's field was full and ready to cut.
Both thought to themselves, If I cut my friend's field it will help him and the corn will not be lost. Unseen by each other they began to harvest Peter's corn, one from the north and one from the south. Soon the entire crop was harvested.
Peter went to his field the following day to cut his corn and found it all harvested. He raised his hands to the heavens and said, Surely G-d has sent His Angels to labor in my fields and cut my corn for me.
Harvest time finally passed and the threshing season arrived. One Saturday Morning Mohammed and Peter went to their fields to thresh their grans while Aaron staye home, remembering the Sabbath, to keep it Holy.
Now, as Mohammed glanced @ the sky, where clouds were gathering, he thought: Today is Saturday, Aaron's Sabbath. He cannot work the field. But the rain is coming. It will wash his grain away and he'll lose the crop. I'll ask Peter to help me thresh Aarons grain and we'll save it for Aaron.
The two men worked to save Aaron's grain, threshing it and covering it with straw to protect it from the coming rain.
The next day, when Aaron went to his field, he found his grain already threshed and safe under the straw. Lifting his hands to heaven, he said Blessed art Thou, O L-rd, who dost send Thy Angels to help those who remember Thy Sabbath Day' to keep it Holy!
This is retold from a 1963 Tzedakah; A Way Of Life Lessons Book. The story in the book also retold by A.E.
We could all learn to do this in today's world. It only takes one to start.
[color=darkgreen Not just Constantine but many of the Men whom were incharge during vatrious eras. Many books of the Bible were also, destroyed, suppressed and/ or forbidden to be reprinted, esp books that pertained to women in leading roles of society.
Also, women of those times were not permitted to read or be taught to read under many severe penalties including death. This was to prevent us from finding out what was really written. Even today, there are many books and other religious scrolls pertaining to the bible that are house in various institutions around the world , which are kept under lock and key to prevent true translations from being printed.
I saw this topic on Yahoo news the other day. I think the media focuses on the age differences, but what really makes or breaks those kinds of relationships is how well those couples can form a partnership that works.
Providing they're of legal age, a 10-yr or more difference in ages makes little difference in how well two people conduct their relationship.
My niece dated and married a man who's 10-yrs younger then her and they're still together to this day.
Her parents and sister couldn't understand why my niece would ever consider dating let alone marrying a younger man, especially since he had children.
I told my niece that as long as their both happy, have good communication etc who cares. And also that was a precious thing, and far more important then their age difference could be.And if her parents and sister weren't willing to accept him and had a problem with their being together then let it be her families problem.[/quote
