Sorry, I am not follwing you here.

This part is what I was responding to when I made this observation From what you posted as follows:

Madam why didnt you say you dont want to belong to somebody first.

why throw the ball to the arabs.there could be some men on this world who wouldnt like to share his womman with someone else.

woman like you exists everywhere, you mean freedom is being more than one partner.Than you are the arabic man of the states.
i mean as some says arabs see womman as stuff,so they d keep plenty at once.

that s why i say you are the arabic man of the states.you want more than one.well go ahead good luck and protect yourself good.

and how many shoes you re going to change while you are searching?
Tell me if man are ok with their wives go with another man and spend the nite together?

This woman freedom thing changes from case to case.you get married and have kids and woman wants to go to discotec and sleep somewhere else .is this freedom?

RE: do you have full trust in your partner?

I agree. You have said it exactly as I was going to.thumbs up thumbs up [/color]

I have read quite a bit on the Arab culture. I thought that was what these discussions were for, to learn even more, or do you always expect us to talk small talk?

quote=Steevyv]You haven't red nothing and that is evident from each word you wrote. For the beginning don't mix belonging to one group of nations with nation.
Romans are : Italians , Franch, Retro romans, Spanish (?) ...etc.
Slavic nations are: Russians, Polish, Czehs, Slovaks, Croats, Serbs, Ukrainians, ....
Germans are....etc. etc....
You see?
Your Arabs are: Egyptians, Syrians ,Palestinians, Libyans....etc..
But Arabs are not: Iraq people, Afganistans, Iranians...
And, for God sake, don't mix nation and religion. You have that in your house. You Ams, what is your religion?
Friendly.

Um, Steevy, um, You may not know, that over here, most of our world history taught in schools is very abreviated, if at all. Many of us don't even get tat much until we go to college and take an Anthropology Course or have it as a Major or Minor degree. Then we do get more information. Yet, until very recently, many of the books were also quite brief and lacking ,in good understanding.

The book information pales to the personal information that can only be gotten from communicationg with individuals whom can teach from their own personal experience or bc it is THEIR culture and they are kind enough to answer our questions and share their beliefs and principals with us to further understanding of their way of live.

The gist I got was that she was asking questions to try and understand. Yes there was jolking around that really did destroy the thread and made it hard to understand that she was looking for serious understanding.

Um, With all due respect, The OP, is looking for understanding. You, Sir are also fuctioning under misunderstood concepts.

To the majority of us, Freedom is NOT equal to more than one partner. It means:

Having the right to make our own choices in, being able to drive, having our education and being respected for that education.

Being able to dress respectfull, (NOT trampy) and being left alone as we walk down the street going on our everyday business.

It means being able to go places by ourselves secure in the knowlege we are trusted, as we trust our mates when they go places.

The right to make major decisions, Own things, have Careers, etc.

i m not arab by the way.

No, but according to your profile, you are Muslim/Islamic. You were also an ideal person to have taught by answering the op's questions, and thereby teaching all of us and eliminating our misunderstandings about many things in the Middle Eastern Culture.

It was disapointing that you did not rise to the ocasion and teach us something you were in a position to teach.

Steevy explained more than you did.

You seem to be bitter. I am sorry if your wife did this to you. Not all of us do this.

RE: What will happen if the death dies.

One of my Physics/Chemistry Professors said there is a certain point at which time reverses its self and runs back wards all the way back undoing everything that has been done. After reaching the begining, then it reverses again going forward redoing all that has previously been.

Back and forth like a yo-yo. So death is only temporary under these circumstances.

The big question is do things stay the same or do they change?

If so, I wanna know if we retain our memories and get a chance to not make the mistakes we did before?

Go figure. I really have much regard for this Professor, but this one topic is too far out for me.dunno dunno confused confused

Yep, and she even lived in the Dorms wioth her Husband's Blessings. she was on Oprah, I think. Went to Univ of NC, I think. hug

RE: Can a long distance relationship work?

It can and does work. It takes a TREMENDOUS amount of Work. It is definitely NOT for the faint hearted.

You both have to be willing to communicate, Communicate and then COMMUNICATE. This goes even double when there are language differences, it is very easy to misunderstand some thing one or the other has said and feelings get hurt. But then sorting it out takes Communication......+......+ to infinity.

Also, Trust IS Essential. Broken Spirit posted a wonderful demonstation of trust- He and I have adopted that as part of our vast tools on working on our relationship, b/c it reflects how we see all things with each other. (I will see if I have her permission to post it here.)

There has to be compromise willing to be taken in to consideration, on many things in the spectrum.

But the bottom line is if two people want it badly enough and are willing to work harder than they normally would, anything can work with commitment.

Note too, you have to be realistic. We do realize that: bc we get along in IM, Phone, Chat, IP-Relay and email, it may be a totally different story when we meet in person.

We do believe in Love @ first sight and are hopeful that it carries over into when we meet in person. This involves planning and is always open to be ing retuned due to eachother's lives.

Hope this helps, Best of luck to all of us involved in these relationships.hug hug hug hug
