RE: Understanding The True Nature Of Politics And Its Finality

handshake Appears to work well doesn't it? sigh

Have you ever asked why we are always trying to prove our position, yet no one asks them to defend theirs? confused

RE: gaddafi

RE: gaddafi

Guess he didn't like his kid arrested ay?

RE: Doctors vs. Gun Owners

"Happiness is a warm gun... etc"

RE: Doctors vs. Gun Owners

My dad was a gun owner and a doctor... after seeing all his personal records, he apparently went against the average and didn't kill anyone with either means. dunno

Then again there are many ways of killing people with malpractice, some from the very lives we are supposed to live in a polluted world. Why just pick on the doctors? confused

RE: Doctors vs. Gun Owners

Shoot the doctors? confused

RE: Understanding The True Nature Of Politics And Its Finality

I don't think Kid was referring to you Alberta. comfort

RE: gaddafi

"Libya has stopped oil shipments to Switzerland months after the arrest of Muammar Gaddafi's youngest son sparked a diplomatic row.
"Libya has requested the company to halt all oil deliveries to Switzerland," said Issam Zanati, chief executive of Libyan oil firm Tamoil.
Tensions have been high between the two countries since Swiss police arrested Hannibal Gaddafi and his wife in July.
They were accused of hitting two of their staff but charges were dropped."

hmmm Hmmm......

RE: Understanding The True Nature Of Politics And Its Finality

Like shooting the messenger will change the message? laugh

Besides, we already know where you stand Con... on the side of Evil. devil tongue

RE: Understanding The True Nature Of Politics And Its Finality

Well why not? It's called breaking out of our preconceived notions, how can you refute something without even knowing what it is? You won't watch an hour video, but you'll go on for an hour defending a position that may be outlandish considering that you are uninformed and refuse to look at something you intuit might go against your mind set.

A bit insular don't you think?

RE: Understanding The True Nature Of Politics And Its Finality

While I may not agree with everything this guy says... perhaps it does come down to the fundamental difference in personality types and how they function and influence within any particular situation.

There have always been the power and greed driven and there have always been the more peaceful, live and let live types... so who do you think would be the more apt to organize and strategize in their own favor? dunno

RE: Understanding The True Nature Of Politics And Its Finality

Well think about it Alberta.... why should the information in the media be any more true, if as the video says... they have been told to manipulate the information fed to the public? confused

It's a Catch 22, what IS the truth? What we're fed by a mega media that has systematically bought out the little newspaper for a one way information push or how to find the real facts that are slithering away in the brush?

I understand that you always want facts, I think we all do, it's just that they may be more ephemeral than you may believe.

RE: gaddafi

Actually I've been trying for a half hour to find the demographic breakdown of foreigners living and working in Libya... haven't found it yet.

While they mention 'others' in the Libyan population as 3% of the total population, the CIA in 2010 apparently never saw the 12,000 Chinese that have come to light with their escape. confused

RE: gaddafi

Here is an interesting aside that some people may not know:

RE: gaddafi

Well I haven't found that to be the case, for the most part in this day and age.
Until the ones in the middle find someone who reflects them, we're stuck on this teeter totter with the lobbyists the pivot.

Glad you're hopeful.... in the end what else is there?

But I definitely agree with your last sentence. thumbs up

FYI wink :

Tho there conclusion was frightfully simplistic I thought.

RE: Libya - Latest Updates

Because oddly enough we've got the rep for sticking our noses in other peoples business (true), we have caused much resentment in the middle east (for good reason).. and most hate our guts at the moment (duh.. for the before mentioned). popcorn

RE: Libya - Latest Updates

Beside the Red Cross is a world wide organization, prepared to deploy at a moments notice.. not just American. doh

RE: Libya - Latest Updates

Well make up your minds people.
You want the US there, you don't want the US there confused ?

I've stated what I think multiple times... stay away, for political reasons.roll eyes.. is this selective reading again?

But... I can't see any harm with being out at sea but still closer than Malta. confused Doesn't seem that they've been shooting the refugees out of the water. So why can't boats come and go from the liberated Benghazi end to the ship for supplies and medical help if they need it?

I'm asking.

RE: Libya - Latest Updates

Interesting.. thx Rob, g'night wave , I'll just add the clickable link:

Zeus:

Yeah sanctions on who for what? blah

Send a red cross ship with doctors and food and be helpful, while staying politically out of it... like any other natural disaster.

It makes a statement beyond politics.

RE: gaddafi

Are you denying that the inflammatory rhetoric started on that side of the spectrum once Obama was elected and the right panicked? We saw it here, on the news and out on the street... I frankly don't remember the left going to this extreme until very late in the game... we did a strange thing, before all this started, we voted for what we thought would be a more rational viewpoint, not realizing we were voting for a Wall St. shill.

Well they did extremely divide the country into left and right even tho there were people in the middle, maybe even a lot of people, to the point of even getting rid of some moderate Republicans. But I do live and learn and once I found out the game... I stopped playing. Doesn't mean I don't understand where and why it started. I made my evaluation even tho you may not agree with it. That's for you to grasp. At the point I discovered that there were no honorable parties.. but simply rival financial factions.. what's to choose... other than finding the real truth about both and our situation?

Absolutely thumbs up But I'm not holding my breath on elections anymore, it will have to be more grassroots and honest than that... everyone has to understand we've been manipulated to someone elses advantage, not for what's best for most of us.

You also have to realize that both sides of the spectrum have a different psychological makeup and how they view of the world. Try googling the characteristics of both sometime... makes sense why we choose which end fits us best. Not wrong or right it just is.
