I live in Germany and what I like about it, is that - education is more or less free - one of the best public transport systems - variety of castles, woods, lakes, cities and hills - a high standard of living - good flight conenctions with other countries and continents
Compared with Ireland, Germany is more affordable, Less touristy, Less dirt on the streets, the weather is better in Ireland the employment situation for school leavers is better in Ireland the quality of food is better in Ireland the sausages are much better in Germany, Taxes and social expenses are better in Ireland in total I'd prefer to live in Ireland

I don't know about other, but I can tell you why I am asking the ppl I meet here about their jobs.
First, when you are together with someone, you are not only together with her but also her family, friends and job. Some ppl bring there problems into their relationship. And then it is good to know in advanced what she is doing.
Then asking for a job, gives a topic what the conversation could be about.
I would not like the idea of falling in love with someone who works as politican, movie star or model. So I have an eye on her job, too.

I know a guy in your area who is divorced. I think he is working too much and did have few time for his wife. He has no kids - or maybe he's got a son - don't remember. But I never saw his profile on a dating website.
Start looking for some further education in the import / export /trade or logistics industry and you should come across him. He could be a self-made millionaire by now.

Open your eyes. She is less than 3 hours away from you. If you booked a tour with Irishrail to the Giant's Causeway you would make a stop over in Belfast (train station) where you could pick her up for a great day together :)
