I though that the opera singer won last week.We are talking about "America's got talent" or was I watching a re run of last year and now having a senior moment.
Hey Outrageous, that's what Mum's do best, look out for their chicks.I hope your sacrifices are rewarded tenfold, and they succeed. We can ask for nothing more.
My comment was not meant as a critisism more an observation.
I am a single parent and my daughter attended a secondary school with average grades. She was talented in the Arts and drama more than the academic field, which I did encourage.
At the age of 42 ,she now has her own business with a million pound turnover, property and a great life. All this was achieved by hard work and a certain amount of courage.
My point, as I stated in an earlier post, is that children find their own comfort zone, and some parents push their children to achieve what is possibly beyond some children's scope.J.M.O.
Personally speaking I was always told that "It's not the winning that's important It's the taking part" We cannot win at everything and children need to be taught that coming second does not mean "second best"
There is far too much emphasis put on young children to achieve these days by pushy parents and schools. Yes we all want the best for our children but at what cost.
May have to go off line during the move so hope to hear good things about Tucker and Rosie.I hope to move end of October.Have to travel overland through Spain and France as a flight would upset my dog as she is nervous. The Persian cat travels well though. My animals are important so the horrendous cost will be worth it.Daisy will love the cool of the U.K. as she has a thick coat similar to a german spitz. Off to bed now as 23:37 here.Bye for now.
Back to my roots in Bournemouth U.K. Miss my friends and family and been away too long so off on my last adventure! I want to walk in the rain ,play in the snow, hide in the fog.Who's a silly cow then!
Here in Spain everyone says Good morning/afternoon/evening in passing whether they know you or not. Took me by suprise until I got used the the custom and I actually find it quite charming.
Absolutely agree ,was just referring to some of the interesting threads that have been raised by past members, but end up soured by animosity.Such a shame.
My recent dreams have been so predictable of my present circumstances as to be uncanny.I am therefore of the conclusion that what you think about before sleep CAN manifest itself into your dreams.
I have learned a lot from them and am able to make positive and sensible decisions about my life because of them.J.M.O.
I shaped myself from a rocky start with divorced parents at the tender age of 4.Growing up between 2 sets of parents of whom neither were particularly interested in my welfare taught me a lot.All the mistakes I made along the way were giant learning curves for me.
As I now approach old age I am older, wiser and calmer.I look forward not back as that is where my future lies.On another adventure again.
Acting singing and cooking. No money to go to Drama classes or singing unfortunately. In my day you just had to get a job and bring in an income.Far more opportunities for young people now.
The same goes for the U.K. John.Too many people forget too easily just how many young lives are being lost, and also how many families lives are destroyed by the loss of a loved one.
God bless all those who are serving in the Armed Forces.
