My worst peeve is dog owners who never clean up after their pets. Here in Spain the walkways where dogs are exercised are filthy and the smell in the hot sun is stomach churning.
Hi Snuggs,I know exactly how you feel. What to do under the circumstances. You were in no way to blame just one of life's tragedies. Here in Spain I constantly pick up dying kittens from the urbanisation and I get so upset every time. It's a huge problem here as no-one bothers about them and it's now illegal to feed them! I'm the hoodie that goes out under cover of darkness!
I don't profess to know much about politics but from what I can see there are far too many foreign people in the U.K. draining our resources.I have more chance as a foreign person entering the U.K. to get financial support ,housing, free health care, than an ex pat returning to their roots.
There is something wrong with a system that supports other people's religions in trying to be politically correct, yet crushes the religious convictions of others who's families have lived there for centuries.
Whilst I support the integration of people and the E.U. to a certain degree, there comes a point when you have to say enough is enough.
If people want to be transient and move from country to country, then they MUST be able to support themselves and abide by the laws of that country and not inflict their views and religion on others of a different culture.
I'm sure that the above applies to many countries across the globe and people need to understand that if you want to live in another country please respect it and it's people.J.M.O.
Don't know where you get the idea that people tour in August in Europe. Most people avoid it like the plague especially here in Spain where temperatures can soar to 50% and most places shut down for the month.!
Euchinacea is a great remedy for the common cold. A night cap of hot whiskey, lemon juice and honey helps to reduce coughing and loosens phlegm. Also helps you sleep if you have enough!
U.K. this morning sunny but autumnal, pleasantly warm. Spain in the afternoon ,the heat hit me as I got off the plane, about 28 degrees .So different 2000 kilometres away!
The first few are generally easy but after that mostly general knowledge. My advice would be to go on line and look at some websites with quiz questions and answers, pub quiz questions etc. The british ones are a mixed bag and you do have 4 options, plus 3 helplines.
No Morgan you posted true to the thread.I came under attack for bringing in a serious comment on consequences of violence.I was merely pointing out what CAN happen.
As Joanne stated it was about cheating and possibly what can ensue from the act if caught.
Anyway I thought your post was hilarious even if the circumstances were not pleasant for you at the time.Sometimes we have to look back and see the funny side of things or we end up carrying too much baggage around.
So sad that people have such low intelligence as to purposefully start a fire.It doesn't help when you live in a hot climate such as here in Spain where a simple dropped cigarette end would spark a forest fire.
Apart from the danger to human life it causes so much damage to the flora and fauna which can take years to rebuild itself.
I do wish that people would READ the actual thread before posting as you did mention cheating and violence in the thread whereas many just posted on the cheating.
As I have stated several times through the thread unless you are in a particular situation and possibly being threatened with violence you cannot possibly say how you would react.
It's easy to be wise after the event but for some people this can be too late and a tragedy occurs.
As I prepare to return to the U.K. after 7 wonderful years in Spain ,I got to thinking what would be my lasting memory of living here. I have to say that it would be the warmth and generosity of the Spanish people.
This again made me think about memories in general and when was the happiest time in my life.We probably all have many that we can relate to, but was there a special time in your past that will linger on as "the happiest day of your life" that you would like to share.
I am not detracting away from the thread. The cheating and violence are in the same opening statement.
In my home town many years ago in the town where I lived a woman caught her husband cheating and he attacked her violently ,so she picked up the bread knife to defend herself and unfortunately she killed him. She was aquitted as it was not premeditated but self defence.
EVERY situation is different and in the heat of the moment things happen, which we are sometimes unable to control. That's why it's called blind anger.I wasn't going to share this but perhaps it might make people realise what happens when you lose your self control.
Believe it or not I envy you the privilege of being at one with nature. We sometimes take life for granted and little things like your post pull us down to earth.
So if someone comes at you with the bread knife you stand there and let them stab you to death!
Each situation has to be judged sometimes in a split second. Those that have never experienced violence will never understand the art of self preservation, because until you are actually IN that situation you cannot possibly know how you will react.
Didn't Jesus say to Peter "Those that live by the sword, shall die by the sword" I take that as meaning that if you are violent it will come back on you.
As the Thread author specifically asked us not to judge anyone, that is what we should be avoiding.
None of us knows how we would react unless put in a situation that could be potentially violent.I don't think people in general intend to strike the first blow, but sometimes the mouth and the fists operate quicker than the brain in anger outbursts.j.m.o.
Gosh who rattled your cage! If you had taken the trouble to read the thread from the beginning you would have noticed that I made a crack which was supposed to be a joke. Posted in a public place/crap. Ring any bells?
I then had to go on the defensive from an American attack! I didn't complain ,just stated my case which as I understand is what the forums is all about.
