RE: Two Words Keep One Same Round 7

A love story for seniors..............

A Senior Love Story,

Sarah and Bill, both aged 91, lived in a retirement community.
They met in the Social Centre and found after a time that they enjoyed each other's company.

After several weeks of meeting for coffee, Bill asked Sarah out for dinner.
Much to his delight, she accepted.

They had a lovely evening, they dined at the most romantic restaurant in town and Bill gave
Sarah a gift to show his affection. Despite his age, Bill was still a charmer.

Afterwards, Bill invited Sarah to join him for an after dinner drink at his place.

Things continued along a natural course, age being no inhibitor and soon Sarah had joined Bill in bed.

As they were basking in the after-glow of the magic moment they’d shared, each was lost for a time in
their own thoughts.

Bill was thinking: “If only I’d known she was still a virgin, I would have been more gentle”.

Sarah was thinking: “If only I’d known he could still do it, I would have taken my tights off”.

RE: I just quit POF Plenty of Fish

Hi Tom, I got inundated with mail but all from young guys. Not bragging I can assure you, as it got on my nerves, so I deleted my profile.

The forums were rubbish too. I heart wings C.S. Forums.

RE: don't you wish you could turn back the clock

Actually no I don't.

Whatever happened to me in the past was a giant learning curve,by which I discovered what was important in my life, and what was not.

I'm happier now than I have been ,and look forward not back. The past should be just that. cheering

RE: Happy Birthday RDM59

RE: Dating an old boyfriend/girlfriend

I tried this once.Met a guy 11 years younger than myself, stayed together about 5 years, then we split,as I told him to find someone younger.

25 years later we met up again. It lasted a year and again I broke it off. Some relationships are just not meant to be.handshake

RE: Throwing the Baby Out with the Bathwater...?

Hi dandelion, been off line for a few days and just came across your thread.

Do you not think that we as humans carry all our baggage around, and sometimes forget to unload, for fear of forgetting the past. There are those that seem to want constant reminders of past hurts, and I never can understand why this should be.

Some people wear it like a badge of honour, instead of rethinking where past relationships went wrong, and trying to move forward with a different perspective.

If you imagine that every man/woman you meet is going to cause you grief, then you will be forever stuck in the painful past.

It's about trust I know ,and some hurts go deep making it difficult to move forward, but if you never lower the drawbridge, take off the armour, and open yourself up to new beginnings, you will never be able to move on and be happy.j.m.o.wine

RE: How long is a week ?

Bodeling tried this some time back and got nowhere, but I honestly thought that Trish was deleted not put in jail.

Do the crime serve the time is C.S.'s motto I think.

Good luck but as Monti says flogging a dead horse. We can use the site but not interfere.j.m.o.

RE: WHICH COUNTRY HAS THE BEST AIR FORCE IN THE WORLD

Oh these comparison threads again.

Does it really matterdunno

All it does is cause bad feeling on the Forums.j.m.o.

RE: riots in London

So many divided opinions on this thread. All I have to say to some posters is,come and live in this country, know our people, all from many parts of the world now,and then pass judgement on the government, police etc.

Corruption is everywhere,as are people who have no desire to improve their lives, and continually blame society.j.m.o.

RE: Living Beyond One's Means

Each to his own.If you read my post I said that I use a credit card for any purchase over £100 to cover me if I have to get my money back.

I use the card then pay the credit bill immediately. It's just transference of money ,but affords me protection if I have a problem with the goods.

Call it insurance if you like, but some firms are rather loathe to return your money if you buy unsatisfactory goods. This way I am protected at no cost.

RE: Living Beyond One's Means

Evening from the U.K.

I have had a credit card for years, and the reason for that is if you buy something online ,or in a store for more that £100 it has security and will be covered by my Bank, should you have problems with said purchase.

I rarely carry much cash and use my debit card for most things.

I've known what being on the breadline means, bringing my daughter up single handed, but I worked 2 or 3 jobs to keep my head above water and survived. If I couldn't afford it,it stayed on the shelf or rack in the shop. I've shared some hard times with friends ,but we all survived, didn't have to steal .

Thankfully I am in a much better financial position now. hug

Hope you are mending Boteddybear

RE: riots in London

Oh Pat This has been the theme all through this thread " poor hard done by kids" Put in slums with no moneydunno What a load of eyewash, people make slums not Governments. I give up with some of the comments I have read on here.

RE: riots in London

What a load of B------sbarf

No- one asked some of these people to come here, yet we have opened our doors to them, put a roof over their heads, fed and clothed them, and have been doing it for years, all out of the tax payers money.

This is how they repay our hospitality.very mad

RE: riots in London

Absolutely.I remember when we used to go and pick them for a Sunday pudding, along with wild mushrooms, nuts, apple scrumping. Good old days when kids played outside.sigh

RE: Do you agree with this ?

Hi Vinny, This subject came up not long back over the "American Beauty Pageants" for young children, and turned into a slinging match.

I find it abhorant that any parent would allow a 10 year old to be paraded in this fashion. Disgusting in my opinion.handshake

RE: riots in London

time4fun4u: ‘“I would like to mention that the majority of one perant families, low income families ect, bring thier children up in a law abiding way, respecting other people and thier property.
Thier children go to school, daily, work hard, and pass exams, and go into the world, and contribute.
I would imagine the a very, very small minority of the people involved in these riots are those that have families, and just lost thier jobs. Why? Because they are not yobs, thieves or scroungers. They are decent people who, although going through a rough time, and have a sense of honesty and decency.
Those that are rioting, are also targeting those who are going through bad times, damaging thier vehicles, small businesses ect.
From vast experience,i can assure you those types burgle thier nieghbours houses, steal from thier nieghbours cars, gardens ect,and imtimidate them. They dont give a damn about polotics, the community or anything about anything but themselves.
On being arrested, they always have cash in thier pockets, from selling stolen property, dealing in drugs ect.
They have access to free schools, but they cant be bothered to go to them, because it means getting out of bed,and doing something.
These people are not interested in getting anywhere in life, only interested in getting something for nothing.
They have told me this face to face, with no remorse, and the perants are not iterested either, being equally as bad.
I take my hat of to anyone who has had to fight thier way through life, whether it be a bussiness person or a road sweeper, when they have a sense of morals and decency.”’

Having just caught up with this thread I have to say that E.W. Class 5,grizzwald and Time 4,the above poster, are the only people that have got these rioters in perspective.

I'm sick of reading that these people are deprived. The word that I would use is depraved.

Having been through a war and come out the other side,I know what poor is,but we didn't go looting and damaging people's property to bring attention to our plight,we coped.

We have a welfare system that provides and some of these people get more in Benefits than I do on a Pension,so don't talk to me about not having enough to live on.

As some one else mentioned, try living in a war torn country, or a land of famine, then you would know what going without really means.

Most people are stretched to the limit financially, and not just here. The economics of most countries is at an all time low,so they actually should be grateful that they are in a country that at the very least provides the basics.

Rant over.

Do you know Jack ?

Share the laughter.Plenty more where they come from.hug

RE: riots in London

Tell that to the ordinary people of these boroughs that were put in fear of their lives trapped in burning buildings, and when shouting for help were told to F--- off by the mob.very mad

RE: riots in London

Precisely my point. The wanton destruction of peoples homes and businesses has nothing to do with greivances,in my opinion, just deliberate destruction for the sake of it.handshake

I guess Vinny forgot to tell you you're supposed to be the solution, not the problem.

Do you know Jack ?

Do you know Jack?

Jack Is In The Hospital . . . .....

Who in the hell is Jack?

Well Jack is the guy who gets home late one night and Linda, his wife, says "Where the hell have you been?" Jack replies "I was out getting a tattoo!"

"A tattoo"? she frowned. "What kind of tattoo did you get?"

"I got a hundred dollar bill on my privates" he said proudly.

"What the hell were you thinking"? she said, shaking her head in disgust. "Why on earth would a Chartered Accountant get a hundred dollar bill tattooed on his privates?"

"Well, one, I like to watch my money grow. Two, once in a while I like to play with my money. Three, I like how money feels in my hand. And, lastly, instead of you going out shopping, you can stay right here at home and blow a hundred bucks anytime you want."

Jack is in the hospital if you want to visit him.....

RE: Problem.................Ask Auntie

Dear Auntie,

Some people on C.S. keep banging on about my "granny knickers"blushing

I keep telling them that all that my undies come from La Senza, but they don't believe me.How can I prove this to them without too much overexposure on my part.wave

RE: The 2012 Olympics to be moved to a safer country?

One wouldn't let the other get a word in edgeways. Love it.rolling on the floor laughing

RE: The 2012 Olympics to be moved to a safer country?

Oh good point Monti, those had slipped my mind.handshake

RE: what should be done

Exactly what I posted prior .Discipline should start at home, and continue in the classroom,so I'm with you all the way on this one.

Too much P.C. and the control is lost . I also think that a parent knows ,or at least should know, their own child better than anyone else,so are best at controlling any given situation.j.m.o.

RE: The 2012 Olympics to be moved to a safer country?

The U.K. has a very high rate of security in place for the Games. The buildings housing the sporting events are fantastic, as is the Village ,all of which will be put to a very good use after the events.

H.M.S.Bulwark will be deployed to Weymouth for all the sailing events, with accommodation for thousands of security people in case of any terrorist attacks.

Facts are just that, and sometimes best ignored.
