RE: Why has Bin Laden.....

My own take on this is that the Americans are seen to be doing the "right thing" with respect to Islamic Law.

There are many flaws in all the statements that are flowing to and fro,and will we ever know the actual truth.I doubt it.

I do feel that it is hardly a time to celebrate ,he was one man amongst many who are still anti the Western world, so I say we all need to watch our backs.j.m.o.handshake

RE: Someone close to you is on Life Support, will you cut the switch?

Quality of life is sooooooooo important ,so if this has been removed, then what has the person left.

Loss of dignity,a living death sentence.

If you love someone enough, love them enough to be able to let them go.hug

RE: pics of Friday nights meet up....

RE: The Royal Wedding, Cost And Pagentry From A Political Position.

No time wasted on my part. Just wondered why you took issue with me for posting and not with the first poster.Just asking is alldunno

RE: The Royal Wedding, Cost And Pagentry From A Political Position.

Sorry to upset the balance of your poll .I stand upright, lean neither to the left or to the right. Does this answer your question as to why I refuse to vote.Goodbyewave

RE: The Royal Wedding, Cost And Pagentry From A Political Position.

I'm none of the 4 mentioned. I hate politics aand never debate them with people. It's a minefield that I'm not prepared to do battle with.

You mentioned the word cost in your thread which is what I basically replied to.

Personally I cannot see a connection between politics and a Royal weddding.j.m.o.

RE: The Royal Wedding, Cost And Pagentry From A Political Position.

Good Morning Albertghost.

Personally I think that this question has been done to death, but I'll put my five eggs in yet again!

This wedding was funded mostly by the two family's concerned, whatever people think. This is why the Queen chose to keep it low key in many respects.Yes there are those in the minority who despise the Monarchy and what it represents, and would see it banished.

The British people expect to see the pageantry and came out in their thousands to celebrate another great day in our long history. As was pointed out many times in another long winded thread, the cost to the tax payer was miniscule.

The Queen is the head of State and as was mentioned by robplum, does a good job,and rarely interfers in the politics of any country.

The British Monarchy has changed dramatically over the years, most Royals having to support themselves as only the Queen and Prince Philip are paid by the Civil List.Their payouts are miniscule compared to the revenue paid back to the government from the royal estates.Sandringham and Balmoral are owned outright by the Queen ,and therefore her responsibility.

Our heritage is what makes this country stand out in the world, and I was extremely proud yesterday to see the outpouring of love for our future King and Queen. We have a breathe of fressh air blowing through the palaces at long last.handshake

RE: Royal wedding in UK

I think you need to do a bit more reading into who gets what. You are way out on the facts.

RE: william & kate

They probably hoped that they could meet up,pair up,and have 3 more weddings on the cards.rolling on the floor laughing

RE: I tried to keep my chin up but I'm sad today

Hi Snuggs, life is so sad at times especially with the weather patterns that are being thrown up all around the World at present.

Agreed that life does go on,but it's the disasters that sometimes get left in it's wake that are so upsetting.

Glad to know you are safe and well, and thoughts for the families of those that have lost their liveshug

RE: Royal wedding in UK

Hell's bell's Venus he's only 24 give hime chance to grow up and get into the real world.rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Royal wedding in UK

My generation went through a war mate so piss off with your mindless drivel. We pulled together in those days, didn't blame others for the state of the country.

I'm very proud that I have lived through the thick and thin of our trials and tribulations.

Many other country's are going through financial problems not just us. It's called an economic world crisis. Are you going to blame the UK for their mess too.

Grow up and stop spouting on about the bad of this country, shame on you for spitting on your own people.very mad

RE: Royal wedding in UK

Actually it was an old one belonging to Prince Philip. Still a magical sight and so far removed from the norm.hug

RE: Royal wedding in UK

This is why I love you so much. I assume that the person posting this drivel had a complete list of the invitesdunno

I loathe people that knock their own country, wish they'd emigrate.

RE: Royal wedding in UK

The married couple have just left the Palace with the Prince driving an Aston Martin with L plates attached, and banners on the back.

It's so fantastic and so normal.cheering

RE: How do you see yourself?

Oh Silly me,now I know what all the emoticons were for.Different strokes for different folks.rolling on the floor laughing

RE: How do you see yourself?

Oh dear, was it something I said. I only have one persona ,I'm not a chameleon.hug

RE: How do you see yourself?

Oh Snuggs I know what you mean regarding daughters! My daughter and I are as different as chalk and cheese in many ways, but I'm pleased to say that our values are the same.wine

RE: How do you see yourself?

I do try,and I mean try,not to be judgemental on the forums as it is far removed from reality ,as we do not know the respondant personally, and it's all too easy to come across as a completely different person than who you actually are.

People's perceptions of others on the Forums are just that,so as I say I try very hard not to form opinions of others that I know I will never meet personally.

Shame really as there are quite a few on here that I have the utmost respect for.wine

RE: How do you see yourself?

Hi Snuggs, I personally think that we all mellow with age,and adapt accordingly. There is good and bad in all of us,depends which one gets drawn out first, according to the circumstances.

hug

RE: Royal wedding in UK

Stop being so pedantic ,you!

hug

RE: How do you see yourself?

I hate negativity in people, and as a Capricorn will stand my ground and fight my corner. If this makes me anti then so be it,but I will always stand by the things that I personally believe in.

That's not to say that I'm not prepared to understand another person's point of view ,or listen to what they have to say, providing it's within the bounds of politeness.handshake

RE: Royal wedding in UK

What a lovely response Amenda. I for one am a proud person today. All country's have their problems, especially at the moment ,but today has been a joyous day for so many across the world.

Peace to all. wave

RE: Royal wedding in UK

Oh What a kiss and a great fly past to celebrate the occasion.

The Mall is packed to capacity. Wonderful sight to behold. Yes it does make you proud to be British.cheering

RE: Royal wedding in UK

Hello again,rizlared.wave

I think that lessons have been learned since the passing of Diana

The Royals seem to have done some spring cleaning and got rid of a lot of cobwebs, and yes you are right, Prince Philip had far too much influence in the upbringing of Charles ,and sending him off to boarding school at a very early age didn't help.

Hopefully we will see a more relaxed way of life with new blood in the family.

We now have to look forward to the Queen's Diamond Jubilee next year. An amazing reign don't you think.

RE: Site has changed.

Love it Conrad, though bit too much exposure in the "mug shots"rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Royal wedding in UK
