John, I can't disagree with your arguments for better police training etc.... But they are human too and probably undervalued and underpaid for putting their lives on the line. In reality they have very little time to react to things like this confrontation. The patrolman who discharged his service pistol though should be discharged, lose his retirement and be used for everything he owns. No doubt, We will probably read more about this incident and coming lawsuits. I'm glad no one was reported shot.
Maybe we aren't seeing the whole story, duh. I was on the cops side in this confrontation until one patrolman pulled a gun and fired into the vehicle endangering the children occupants. That action was completely uncalled for and none of the police people were in danger for their lives. The DA should start actions against the patrol person who fired his service pistol if nothing else. There, thems my two gallons.
