I don't necessarily have anything against being married, but I've been there and done that once and it didn't work out too well. For some people it's great and for others like me, well, I can take it or leave it, it doesn't define my relationship or mean I will love a man more or less just because of a piece of paper.
I don't think anybody said anything about the US, the topic was about Middle Eastern stoning and France's laws concerning wearing a Burqua.
You cannot apply the laws of a civilized nation which is more so respectful of human rights than the Middle East and there is no comparison either.
Women are treated as chattle, property and have no rights in some Middle Eastern countries..and as a result, are treated as less than a second class citizen or even an animal.
If a woman wants to wear something out of religious observation, so be it..but when in Rome do as the Romans do..or feel free to leave. If I were to visit a country which required me to observe certain customs, I'd comply out of respect because I am a visitor, it's the right thing to do.
I honestly don't know the answer to that..but I figure if someone isn't courteous enough and disregards me that quickly..good riddance, there's more where that came from.

Also to point out..a man can't become a father w/o a woman to carry the baby..hello??
As for your opinion about childbirth being a mere part of life and not a crowning achievement, well you being a man can never know how that is for a woman, so again, moot point.
And lastly, as for raising a child, there are people all over the world whose mates have ran out on their family or the other parent has been killed...and YES, sufficed to say these people MUST raise their children to the best of their ability.

If your injuries are a result of military combat, I can respect that and salute you for your service to our country....but....this doesn't give you the right act like a Martyr.
It would depend on the man and our interests and many other factors..but I wouldn't be totally against it because I tend to keep an open mind about these sorts of things.
The most we can hope for is someone to love us for who we are, not what we have and to find someone we can live with, there is no ideal match..takes time and effort on both parts. Nothing in life is ever guaranteed or easy, we make the best of what we've been fortunate enough to have been given and we must work hard to make relationships last and be thankful for the blessings we have.
I was working in downtown STL..MO, no planes, no noise, no nothing, it was the most quiet I've ever experienced outdoors in my life. Today was strange too..there were no planes, trains or interstate traffic..it was so quiet when I went outside, you could have heard a pin drop.

I remember seeing the first plane hit the WTC and a short time later the second tower and the Pentagon, the field in Pennsylvania...to the heroes of that day..my heart goes out to your courageousness and patriotism and sacrifice..nobody has forgotten and never will
I want to say a personal and heartfelt thank you to the service men and women of the US, UK and other brave countries who selflessly give of themeslves and keep our country and WORLD safe. America is not the only country with a military...today is a day which the WORLD should pay its respects to the brave and the lost and never forget what matters most in life..which is to me, human kindness, compassion, tolerance and acceptance.
Let's move forward..heal and never forget the dear price of our freedom.
Star, I wouldn't want to be in this situation, because I am sure it's very heartbreaking for you to have to deal with.
Be strong and make your own choices, but realize you need to be emotionally and mentally prepared for the fall out of those decisions. She might not want treatment and she might not want anybody's opinions, she is an adult, however young she is and this is her life.
I wish you the best no matter what you choose to do.
While it is hard, do your very best to NOT remember the good and only focus on the bad..I know that is usually the opposite of what you'd hear, but in cases like these we are much better off realizing why an ex is an ex.
I found this helped me a great deal and then when I heard gossip about how he was being a clod and abusive to another woman he was involved with, it became easier to reaffirm my choice to dump him.
Remember, you have only so many choices in life and whether or not you are happy, well, that's a personal choice and engaging an ex and hanging on to the bad relationships in life doesn't allow you to truly move forward and find someone better for you.
Uh in a word no..I do NOT play well with others. But, to each their own and who am I to judge, for some it works, but not my cup of tea. Besides, I am still looking for ONE man that can handle me...lol
Know, what you did is a sign you are a true friend..and is very admirable. Some women do not feel this way and I think it shows no class or morals. Guys come and go...your girl friends are forever! : )
Just a thought, maybe by the girl sharing the information w/ her mother, it may motivate her to become clean and sober, sort of a wake-up call? It may be a prelude to causing some serious changes in her mother's life by knowing her daughter has cancer and may die. JHMO
While the situation may be heartbreaking and by nature you want to reach out and help, unless she accepts she has cancer and decides to fight it, there's nothing else you can do.
I am sure she knows about Medicaid and what her options are as an Oncologists will speak at length with a cancer patient about options and what types of state benefits and services are available.
You shouldn't approach her if you don't have a personal friendship w/ her because she might be offended and get angry with your son. He confided in you and you should not break his confidence, he needs your support right now.
This young lady has informed her father about her illness, so she has his support and she has also confided in your son too. Explain to your son how you feel and then maybe encourage him to help her face her fate and get the treatment she needs.
Ovarian cancer does not have to be a death sentence, if it's caught and treated early, but sadly it has no symptoms and is generally only detectable through a blood test. She does need to explore her options, but it's her choice as to what she does as far as treatment or not receiving treatment.
I am so sorry for you situation...it's a horrible one and I wish you strength at this difficult time.
Because a majority of the scammers are probably males preying on desperately lonely, unsuspecting, vulnerable women looking for anybody to pay attention to them.
I've heard that said before..but, I don't agree and here's why:
My grandmother and grandfather were an ideal match..he passed away after 27 years of marriage and my grandmother then went on to marry her grade school sweetheart and found a second chance at first love..and they were happily married for more than 20 years until she passed away in Feb. of this year..so there's always hope
