Road Subject to Flooding

Road subject to flooding
What a strange sign that is
When all one sees is paddocks
And not a creek in sight
A land so hot and dry
Where many a winters pass
And sign of rain there's none
Where cattleman curse the drought
And their wives pray for rain
But leave the land, no way mate
This out here's me home
Then it comes when least expected
There's flowers all abound
And yes mate you got it right
The roads are bloody flooded

When the Gods Smile Down Upon You

When the Gods smile down upon you
Then you know you are really blessed
When your bed's not cold and lonely
And with a lover you share the night
When words are whispered, secrets shared
Then you know you are really blessed
When long days spent hand in hand
And longer nights in love still
When future planned, a life to share
And each day brings new adventures
Then you know you are really blessed
And blessed I know I am

Washing Machine Cat

Smokey the cat
Goes round and round
On the wash cycle
Getting so clean

Hit the rinse, rid of suds
Now comes the good one
Full tilt spin o rama
For poor old Smokey

Flying round and round
Eyes wide like saucers
Washing machines sad to say
Not meant for poor kittens

In the Heat of the Night

In the heat of the night
When love blossoms
Two souls meet as one
When hot breaths mingle
And lips so gently touch
Skin to skin bodies touch
With passion slowly rising
Gentle touches, slow caresses
There's love in every touch
Lover's face by light so dim
Shinning with radiance
When love blossoms
In the heat of the night

Ode to Dishpan Hands

Curlers in hair
And fag in mouth
Ready to wash some dishes
She's a housewife
Hot and ready
Ready for some loving
Whilst there is hubby
Sprawled on the lounge
Beer in hand, scratching his .....
And footy on the telly
Come on you mongrels
Kick that bloody ball
He yells and waves fist
Where are you? he calls
Get us another beer
And like a good wife
She comes running
Ice cold beer in hand
Shakes her tushie
To inner tempo
Trying to tempt her old man
Sadly all this goes unnoticed
In this house football is king
And loving at the bottom
So back she goes
To dishes in the kitchen
Wash and pile, rinse off
Stick them in the cupboards
Another beer, yells he
Quickly she comes running
Gives him beer and back she goes
Finish all the dishes
Fix hair and dresses sexy
Ready for action, type of look
Can hear snoring from lounge room
Sleeping tablets work a treat
She's a housewife
Hot and ready
Going out looking for loving

The Poets Curse

What do I find
When I'm alone in my head
Looking round the corners
So many strange thoughts
Running berserk
They tend to almost scare me
It has a name
This strange affliction
By name 'The Poets Curse'

Poetnumber1

Hey man, he said
Let's go liming
To an invite like that
You can't say no
Would you believe it
He drove a Porsche
Shiny black car
Personalised number plate
Said, Poetnumber1
In Trinidad and Tobago
There' only one place to go
Where all the stars go
Eggys down on Cipriani St
Pulled up the girls ran out
Shouting Poet, Poet, Poet
We love you Poetnumber1
I felt left out
Girls on each arm
Off he went inside
I brought up the rear
The place was jumping
Dolly birds everywhere
All wanting to talk to Poet
To Poetnumber1
The moral to this story
When you got it
You really got it
And he definitely had it

Easter Bunny

Oh my God I'm in deep trouble
I have a lynching mob after me
Hundreds and hundreds chasing me
What have I done you ask
A crime so heinous, so vile
I killed the Easter Bunny
Driving cross the meadow
Thought I'd do some 4x4
Foot planted to the floor
Didn't see him coming
Flying through the air
Easter eggs went everywhere
Chocolate bunnies scrunched
Lollies all sorts in the meadow
Easter Bunny lay there motionless
Even tried mouth to mouth
Nothing seemed to revive him
Methinks as dead as a post
Was spotted leaving scene
Word did quickly get around
Easter Bunny has been murdered
And the blame is all mine

The Wedding

So full of joy
We've just been married
And off on honeymoon
Come that night
I was fair panting
To take my lovely Sue

To bedroom off we went
To consummate our love
Watched my lovely Sue
Getting ready for bed

First came off eyelashes
Followed by her breasts
Teeth on dressing table
Next to blonde hair
Left eyeball sat there
Staring up at me
She took off left leg
I near fainted away
Then her right hand
Replaced with a hook

It was then I realised
Mistake I think I made
Ran like the devil
My bride left behind

After me she ran
Like a demon possessed
With a clitter clatter
Of her false wooden leg

So I warn you one
And I warn you all
Before her you wed
Best take her to bed

Lonely Walls

Lonely walls, lonely windows
Looking out on a lonely world
Lonely heart playing lonely songs
Lost is joy since you've been gone
Over and over in my mind
I wonder where my errors
Point I can at so many
And yet none that matter

She Walks in Grace and Beauty

She walks in grace and beauty
No harsh words pass her lips
Men they fall at her feet
For her favours they do beg
Her smile lights up every room
With her presence she does grace
Only truth shall she speak
Bless with words of wisdom
And throughout this life
She walks in grace and beauty
