Freedom

What is freedom? what a question
Means so many different things
Freedom means the right to choose
Of how and where to live your life
You get the choice of your life's mate
And choices of religion
But the one thing freedom does not give
The right to be downright rude to others
Tread gently friends, through this life
Remember to be nice to each other
A kind word means so much more
Then one spread in anger

Pedal to the Metal

Travelling down the Salisbury Highway
Going to see my chickie babe
Got the pedal to the metal
Doin' just over one sixty five
See flashing blue lights behind me
This aint no time to get stopped
Take the speed up another notch
Getting close to one eighty
Blasted coppers still behind me
Have to try to get more speed
Push the pedal harder still
Poor old girl is shaking to bits
Hitting near two one six
Coppers dropping back a way
Drift around a right hand corner
Next comes a left and right
Lost the cops and lost a tyre
Here am at chickie babes
Damn it all she aint home

Legend of Mara (Part XV)

As Mara grew up there were many more strange and wonderful inventions. Much too many to list here. All right just a few inventions then. Up till now wagons were pulled by goats. Mara built the first ever Goatless Wagon. How it is powered is a mystery to all except Mara. She found one day that she could split the mota and that would give tremendous power

She built a device that would harness that power she called Cimota Power. This made these wagons go at a tremendous speed. Why these wagons moved so quickly that they could go from one village to another in less time than it would take to drink a Bier. Not only could people travel in them but they could take produce to trade with other villagers.

One of the favourite things that they liked to grow in Hamburg was a vegetable that was called a Kartoffel. It was the root that was eaten. It was brown and more or less round. They could bake it, mash it, deep fry long strips of it, it was very versatile. They could also trade some of their famous Bier for goods.

Up until now there had been a communal area where the villagers went to attend to the call of nature. Now you can imagine the horrid odours that permeated anything that stayed too close for too long. It was not uncommon the come out of there and notice that people took a wide berth around you. Sometimes you even found people passed out in there. This was especially noticeable on hot days.

Mara invented little indoor rooms that were used as private call of nature rooms. The wastes were taken away by pipes and deposited into the sea. Now this invention proved to be so popular that she had to follow it up with a special room to be able to perform ablutions.

People came from all over the world to see the miracles of modern advancements. So many of them asked Mara to come to their countries to share her knowledge and skills but continually she refused to leave her beloved Hamburg. The curse had as yet not taken effect.

Mara was so beautiful that all the boys made total fools of themselves. At seventeen Mara had more poise than a woman of forty. Every time a boy tried to talk to her he would become tongue tied and blush and stammer. Although Mara would never be deliberately involved in humiliating a boy she was always mildly amused.
And of course the time had to come as time will when a boy not quite as tongue tied came along.

Valley of Poetry (CS Poets)

Poets to the left of me
Poets to the right of me
Into the valley of poetry
Wrote steve1223

Billiegirl shot a poem across my bow
Quickly I had to recover
Duck down as elo fired in succession
Fell over, escaped Fellsman's broad salvo

Things were getting rather hot
As thelmatalla joined the fray
Paloma and niah joined together
Firing round after round

Marikia tried to bring some peace
But poets kept on firing
Poems were flying through the air
And landing all around me

I could see the names written
Country lady and some by swade
There was Janze, Happygolucky and jazzy
Poetnumber1, kickit and Redex

Just as I thought it was safe to move
Freepoetry let loose with half a dozen
Andrew decided to take some shots
And so did agoodguy2have

Odette waved a flag of truce
And Ladybee tried to restore order
But cafetwo would have none of that
Nor would boyshchrm and mcradloff

Pilgrimageoflove lived up to name
Tossed poems dripping with love
Fjames and hedistuff combined
And tossed them left and right

I waved the flag, I yelled stop
No more, cease and desist
I give up, you all win
This fight so fairly fought

You've all worked hard
The title to earn
I pronounce you one and all
Poets of Greatness

Poet's Corner Bash

Kickit rolled into town
Tyres hot and smoking
Pulled up next to Billiegirl's van
A Kombi with purple flowers
Jazzy was there pacing around
Busy writing some poetry
Happygolucky when she arrived
Off into the woods she ran
Last words heard 'one of these frogs'
There was Redex with brush in hand
Practising poetry for performance
Poetnumber1 in Porsche arrives
With lots of girls in tow
Inside the place was really jumping
Up stood elo to read new poem
This poem titled 'Frustrated'
He waved his hand, a hush fell
And then he spoke his poem

Frustrated

The crowd went wild for never before
Had they heard a poem so succinct
A poem of only one word
That was never heard of before
Next came Fellsman, a man, a legend
Who's poetry was so precise
The crowd so silent, mouths wide open
The words as sweet as honey
One after another up they came
There was niah and marikia
Followed by Odette and andrew
Agoodguy and cafetwo and Country Lady
Netman, boyshchrm and paloma
Thelmatalla up she stood
To read her 'I Love You CS Poets'
And even freepoetry made appearance
SunNieS gLinnTing bY StagELighT
One by one up they went
Then finally it finished
The crowd was hoarse and with aching hands
All worn out and tired
The day was done
Each read their work
Next year there'll be another

Amnesia

I

Lonely roads I travel
Finding way back home
Seem I've been gone forever
No-one knows my name
Memories of what I've been
Are lost in darkest times
Someone, somewhere knows something
I need to know my name

II

Glints of light, whispered words
Like shards in my brain
Jigsaw pieces of memory
So slowly trying to re-arrange
Sometimes I think I'm there
And some name is on my tongue
Other times blankness all around
Can't seem to get the whole picture

III

Today the sun seems extra bright
And a song is in my heart
I say good morning to one and all
Along these corridors I wander
Pack my bags, I want to go home
Tell everyone, I think I'm ready
Strange these looks they give to me
So full of grief and sadness

IV

Suddenly I'm wide awake
My bed is soaked with sweat
Tears are flooding down my face
And screams linger in night air
I remember who, I remember what
Oh God what have I done
My wife, my children all gone
Driving in a drunken state
How I wished I could go back
To the bliss I had just lost
Not remembering my life at all
Is better than this living hell

Have I Told You How Much I Love You

Have I told You how much I love you
How the earth moves when you are near
Your heat goes right through me
And your glistening black body excites
How I love to run my hands along you
Feeling all those lovely, shapely curves
When the right buttons I push
Your body quivers, shakes with delight
Have I told You how much I love you
Old steam engine number nine

Poets Dream

The singers sing and the dancers dance
And the music goes on and on
Life keeps going round and round
And lovers love again and again
As the earth spins round the sun
And each and every new day comes
Those days that dreamers dream
And poets write their poems about
So treasure these days my friend
For they'll never come again

Man Forgotten

Trees marching side by side
An army bent on saving
Undergrowth it creeps along
And takes up space between them
Flowers peek from here and there
And vines creep ever upwards
Soon new homes are made
By animals that therein inhabit
Forgotten is that man once reigned
Restored is the balance

Purples

What do you find when looking for heart lost
Terror grabs you and drags you screaming through the night
When looking down at the edge of the abyss
And all you see reflected back is helplessness
This voice that insistently keeps calling you back
And slowly you draw back, step by step backwards
Slowly light seeps in around the edges, creepy, sneaky
Once again night has passed and morning has arrived
A new day to deal with in the same old way
Only the purple pills make today even bearable
Tomorrow, well I have a huge stock of purples

The Elo Challenge

Darkness hides in corners
Awaiting light of love
Loud silence echoes within

The touch of lover's hand
That draws the eye
To God's infinite design

Hope springs forth eternally
From the Master's grand plan
