the clouds have gone!

The clouds have lifted on this day,
With help from you, in your way,
I feel the weight from off my shoulder,
With the sight of your over the shoulder boulder holder,
It has taken the strain, and some of the pain,
Without any thought of monetary gain,
Your surroundings are fine,
Reminding me of mine,
Ice cream ,coffee, tobacco, and beer,
All of the things I hold so dear,
For half of my life this was all I new,
And reminded once again cos of you,
It does not take much,
the simplest of touch,
A word not spoken
Or a promise not broken,
A call not returned,
A picture not burned,
A glance not replyed,
You know I never lied?,
A truth untold,
30 pieces of silver never sold,
The cloud is not back,I'm on the right track!

Travelling Companions

Two travelling companions on a train they did ride,
With a basket of fruit and flowers by their side,
Both in fine dresses of grey and gloves too,
Passing by the coast with the sea rich and blue,
With hats on their laps sporting feathers so proud,
The train chugs along with a rythm not loud,
A book is being read by the lady on the right,
Her companion in a slumber, a peaceful sight,
with hands clasped on her lap, enjoying a nap,
The journey for her will soon end.
As they pass by the coast, she will miss the most,
Never knowing what was round the bend.
Her friend with the book, has a very different look,
As she reads and learns something new.
This painting is bold,as the story unfolds,
There's a moral for me and for you.
To dream through your day, is a waste so they say,
Do not fritter away your life,
To study and read, is what you need,
For a lady to make a good wife,
Augustus Leopold Egg painted this scene,
And was clear about what it did mean,
I'm glad to have met these companions in a carriage,
And have no doubt her sleep will not affect her marriage.

Neath the moon

Alone again with thoughts to collect,
Neath the stars and full moon,
With the suns light it does reflect,
It was not so long, so long ago this day,
I basked in the heat of this suns gentle ray,
It follows me now to bounce off the moon,
To brighten my night before returning soon,
This companion I have by night or by day,
Is the only sure thing in my life today!
Friends come and go as I travel the land,
Family too have all but disband,
I have met so many people through work and at play,
I would like so much for just one to stay,
To be with me now, and enjoy the view,
From this window of life and see what I do,
To share in the things we do every day,
To hold me close when something to say,
I do hope you find me and find me soon,
As I sit here alone with my thoughts neath the moon

Today!

Now is the time to seize the day
No matter what, come what may,
To think too long would be a crime!
Do you really have the time?
The clock is ticking, It will not stop!
Tick Tock! Tick Tock! Tick Tock! Tick Tock!
To make this choice to change your life,
Just like the moment you chose your wife,
To have a dream you can make true,
Is possible here for all to view,
So take this moment and find the way,
To a better life right now TODAY!

I met you only twice my dear!

I met you only twice my dear!
The reason one day will be clear,
I know your life will be full and well,
And why I know? I now will tell!
You have the strength to persevere!
The sight to know what road is clear,
All obstacles you will overcome,
I know this well as I know your mum,
Do treat her well as I did mine,
Your life together with me entwine,
You are part of me your mother too!
With hearts so strong as my love for you,
I hope you think of me one day!
For all the things I would like to say,
Be all in life you want to be!
See everything you wish to see!
Have friends to share the laughs and sorrow!
Live life today! enjoy the morrow!
Do not worry about a thing!
I know for you what life will bring!
All happiness for you I wish!
And part here now with a tender kiss!

by my side

I travelled far to see you my dear,
You have no idea of my fear,
I waited for so long you see,
To think about where I should be,
And when we met it was so strange,
So easy for us to arrange,
Not so easy as it would seem,
It was as if it was a dream,
I was lost and you found me,
To be saved as it would be,
You were like me to be true,
All alone but not so blue,
In a strange land with no friends,
I feel no need to make amends,
To say goodbye to what I know,
All the past will have to go,
For I now have a future true,
I do hope it will include you,
I know this is so fast and strong,
With me I know you do belong,
Please take your time do not be long,
To think about what can go wrong,
It is a chance we both must take,
So take your time make no mistake,
If I can help you to decide,
How do you feel by my side?

meeting in the bay

You stopped me in my tracks you did,
In the dark your feelings hid,
As you moved close towards my face,
I am sure I felt my heart race,
The harbour light was dim, air cool,
Standing before you a simple fool,
Not knowing quite what he should do,
Feeling awkward eyes fixed on you,
I moved in slow for our first kiss,
Clumsily alas I did miss,
Reaching out to bring you near,
Still not quite sure why I was here,
I felt your touch within my hand,
And slowly began to understand,
I was not alone in my ways,
We both had seen some better days,
Best left far and long behind,
There is no need to remind,
Moving on to pastures new,
You are like me, like me, like you!

Handsome Nell

O, once I lov'd a bonie lass,
Ay, and I love her still!
And whilst that virtue warms my breast,
I'll love my handsome Nell.

As bonie lasses I hae seen,
And monie full as braw,
But for a modest gracefu' mien
The like I never saw.

A bonie lass, I will confess,
Is pleasant to the e'e;
But without some better qualities
She's no a lass for me.

But Nelly's looks are blythe and sweet,
And, what is best of a',
Her reputation is complete
and fair without a flaw.

She dresses ay sae clean and neat,
Both decent and genteel;
And then there's something in her gait
Gars onie dress look weel.

A gaudy dress and gentle air
May slightly touch the heart;
But it's innocence and modesty
That polishes the dart.

'Tis this in Nelly pleases me,
'Tis this enchants my soul;
For absolutely in my breast
She reigns without controul.

life

I want to travel and see some things,
In search of adventure and what life brings,
I'm not afraid to leave my home,
I will not stay here on my own!
To be lonely is so sad,
To let life pass you by is bad,
To have no one to share with you,
To have no clue what you will do,
Now is the time to move along,
I will find out where I belong,
Inspiration I will find,
As the emptyness I leave behind,
The cloud is lifting as the sun appears,
I feel I am turning back the years,
Pride in myself has returned,
Doubts and worries have been burned,
I won't look back or dwell on the past,
As I aim to be first and never again last,
I have left behind all I don't need,
To get on with the life I will lead.

betrayed

I don't feel anger or even shame,
It's only part of life's great game,
To be used, even slightly abused, tested to the brink,
Always gives me time to think,
What could I do better? I stop and wonder,
Move like lightning, before the thunder,
Dodging the rain to avoid the pain,
Awaiting the sun to once again come,
To shine on me as it slowly passes by,
Not really having time to think why?
There is no answer or reason,
When subjected to treason,
People's motives are their own,
In their minds eye seeds are grown,
Fed by, who knows what?
Developed like a black spot,
To be used as and when seems fit,
Not realy caring where it will hit,
I will continue to dodge the rain!
Moving like lightning, avoiding the pain,
Building strength like the thunder,
To shine again like the sun in all it's wonder!

Moonwalk

When I was young, just turned eight,
To be precise, here is the date,
Twenty, seven, nineteen sixty nine,
A day to remember for all mankind,
Earlier we had been told,
That one man would be so bold,
To leave the earth and one day soon,
Land upon our crescent moon,
He took two friends to guide his way,
And left us here to watch and pray,
So watch we did in black and white,
Allowed to stay up late that night,
Excitement would not let us sleep,
A golden memory forever to keep,
The whole world gasped and then did cheer,
As Neil Armstrong did appear,
Setting foot on virgin ground,
With no air to breath and not a sound.

Why did they go? Some people asked,
What purpose was this expensive task?
The money could have been better spent!
Some even believe they never went!
I do believe that they did go!
I watched it on a TV show!
A golden memory from that date,
I remember it well! I’d just turned eight!

who comes first?

Now you have grown,
With a life of your own,
How do you decide?
Whose life is on the side?
Do you come first?
Or second or third?
Or is the thought of that absurd?

As you go about your day,
Doing whatever you may,
Stop and ponder on life’s wonder,
Is there really one big plan?
Will I change things if I can?
Should I stay just as I am?
After all I’m just a man!

I have made my choices!
And I hope they will be true,
Not all have been what some seem right,
Don’t judge me through and through!
The choices I am making now still play upon my mind,
Don’t judge me on the choice I make it’s really not that kind,
I choose to do the things I do not to make you blue!

I choose to do the things I do because they make me true!
Maybe you will understand, I have made my choice,
You will also learn, the importance of your voice,
To lose it, or just not be heard, to me it is the same,
For people not to know me could be such a shame.
I hope you get to know me! It only takes some time,
An easy task and a pleasant one I hope you enjoyed my rhyme!
