SummerTime

Sunshine and glowing rainbows
Blue skies and fresh green grass
Bright silvery full moon glows
Golden haired sweet young lass
Sandy beaches and bronzed bodies
Shimmering water sprouting sails
Umbrellas and faint smell of dubies
Seashells and occasional snails
Fresh air after morning drizzle
Lilacs sweet scented breeze
Backyard bbqs, seafood sizzle
A woman that flirts like a tease
Laughing childrens naive smile
Purple Lilacs fragnant new smells
Classical rock on the radio dial
The evening call of whipporwills
Canoe gliding, laughing with you
Vivid multi- flowered meadows
Fresh coffee and morning dew
Swaying wind whipped willows
Sundown then distant starlight
The wind makes me feel free
Moonlight now stalking twilight
Fireflies assisting us all to see
Throttle out of corner straighter
Twin cam revving near redline
Blue sky forever as you hold tighter
Snap another gear racing the skyline
Genuine Smiles a required must
Cool summer evenings with view
Dawn's breaking colours rust
Did I say how much I love you

Complicated

Joe is in love with Barbara
Barbara has feelings for Frank
Frank yearns to be with Anna
And Anna thinks she loves Hank

Jennifer's heart aches for James
James is attracted to Nancy
Nancy secretly dreams of Ames
And Ames lusts for Tracey

Andrew has the hots for Brenda
Brenda can only think of Joey
Joey's heart is stuck on Linda
And Linda's soul's reserved for Bobby

Why must love been so complex
Why is it often such a strange stew
Agnes loves to be with Alex
I would give my right arm for you

Does no good to procrastinate
Love will do what it will do
If you would love me damn straight
I would never think to be untrue

About this poem:
Relationships get kinda complicated sometime.
The heart loves who it loves and mostly not
the person that loves them. Just an observation
and perhaps this poem carries it to extremes
to make a point...lol.

Dating Woes

Or mind games, land mines and bad wine
Stand in line, money's fine and Francinestein
I don't think so's and "baby don't you know?"
Keep a straight face. Learn to eat crow
There was the lady that was totally fridgid
The large bossomed dame called Bridgit
A woman who checked my car before me
A female that would argue over what we see
A lady who said "we cant do this anymore"
When I asked her what she got really sore
Im still trying to figure out what "this" was
Asked another lady and she said "just because"
Oh yah and the one that got really weird
Tried to find out what was wrong as she sneered
A sweet lady that turned out to be a drunk
The lady that thought every man was a hunk
A large lady that would have cracked had she smiled
A nice red haired lady that I like but dissappeared
The one that only looked like her picture after 6 beers
One that I couldn't understand because of tears
Then the broad that wanted me if I were rich
Also one that was haughty and a right ....gllllitch!
One stood me up but apologized really politely
Thought she was nice until I found it was nightly
Are there any nice sane and sweet woman out there?
Because if there is know I am a guy that would care

Love Virtually

My mind and eye each inch caress and trace,
From my computer as I view your lovely face.
O'er hill and dale I've searched my life yet nothing more appeals.
Reason has surpassed me now the virtual world seems real.
The shrouds of dread and emptiness will drape upon my head
..and my anxious brain and craving heart will leave infinity unsaid
Should technicial problems prevent my communication with thee.
This feeling that has come o'er me has usurped reality.
I beseech you virtual world go on so love can surely grow.
Equinox of time set forth please do not deprive me now..
Quite rightly give me fortitude and prove t'is not surreal,
Until I find out if the golden hearted creature truly is for real.

Caution to the Wind

It is not beauty of the face nor body
Which I seek...although to be attracted to
a fair gender is not an evil thing
I seek beauty of the soul which is
extremely hard to find...most of us
much older and wiser have doubts
and opinions of an obsessive kind
My faith in fairy tales is not totally devoid
As I hope to someday find true love
that will not be destroyed
Why is it so hard to win a heart today
Perhaps its because most have been
Shattered somewhere along the way
We live our life with armour plate
And caution twenty fold
The caution becomes scar tissue
as we slowly grow old
But is it not possible that two souls
Can still entwine...Perhaps it is the
Child within our hearts that should
be unleashed in kind
As love should never be lost or considered dead
So take a chance, roll the dice, throw caution to the wind
Perhaps love will happen this time my melancholy friend

About this poem:
I think we need to approach love at a much more simple level.
If there is a connection does distance, status, money, and materialism
really matter that much.

Stranded

Stranded waiting for you
Stranded with an island view
I'm stranded with little to do
No boat, or food...No you

Rescue me soon pretty girl
You said you'd give me a whirl
Hair so soft with a little curl
Rescue me from sea of pearl

Bring me home where I belong
Baby you know it's not wrong
I'll tell you in a short love song
Rescue me from nights so long

Find the note in the glass bottle
Come to me, come full throttle
Rescue me from an island paradise
I'll love you always, treat you nice

I'm going crazy for your touch
Crazy cause I love you so much
Insane to hold and caress you
Rescue me and hold me too

Still stranded!

What the?

Wondering how can I explain how I feel
There's just no words because it feels unreal
A warmth in my heart, a stirring unfamiliar
A longing to touch you..to hold you when afar
My mind is flying and yet it's just numb
Words escape me... I just feel so dumb
I want you so much I could just explode
Yet I have to control it til the next episode
My heart pounds whenever I'm near you
I hope you feel likewise but I haven't a clue
To innocently brush you causes static discharge
Want to do something yet my tongues now a barge
God I wish you would just give me a subtle hint
I tripped on my tongue and my arms in a splint
Perhaps Ill say something at the water cooler
Hope you dont slap me if I become a drooler
Per chance I could ask for your phone number
If you give me three fives I guess Ill feel dumber
Ill impress you with a note and a sweet poem
Just hope you dont think then that I'm stoned
Perhaps I can give you a card that says how I feel
Ask you out and then buy you a multi course meal
Perhaps the direct approach is sincerely the best
I'll pretend I am you and You're on the same quest
I'll ask you some questions that could be some fun
Perhaps "I like you immensely. Do you like me hun?"
Seriously contemplating what to finally do and say
You walk to the door and look intently my way
I'm about to speak when a red sportscar pull in
A tall sculputed man attired who'd drink tonic and gin
"Say Bob meet my boyfriend whose name is Pete!"
I slowly slink over meekly for a sad meet and greet

I see you

I see you everywhere
And yet you're not there
Faces, places.....all have traces
The silhouette lines of my gazes
Misty steam, sunbeams, serene streams
Blue jeans, new scenes, sweet dreams
In clouds, shrouds, crowds
I often call your name out loud
Streetcars, glass jars, reflections from afar
In cars, bars, constellations in the stars
The outline of your hair,
Your profile haunts me as I stare
I see you everywhere
But you're not really there
I see you on the bus
And think of the two of us
I see you in a limousine
And realize it's just a daydream
I see you in a movie queue
Stop and prey....but that's not you
I see you everywhere.... I know
Because I still love you so
Memories that just....... won't let go.

Within my Soul

Within my soul I search
For purpose and meaning
It is oft a dreary
Place devoid of
new found feelings
Hovering as if by magnets
I glide between grey and darkness
A shadow of myself
Or is the shadow me
Cast by only a cobwebbed silhouette
Sustained by life's
evershrinking net
Wonder was my goal
With no memories of regret
Yet here I glide from gloom
to Netherworld without Restriction
or purpose and cold icy chill
Is this my mandate or foul evil addiction
Lost within a maze of ancient
musty,crumbling ruins
that my memories fullfill
Cruel assassins concealed
behind each and every Pillar
that once were
Regergetated symbols
With fragrances most vile
I have no track of time
Its simply Infinity that looms
And a numbness in
My bones
As my skull feels fragmented
Like some cruel horrid
Beauchene
Procedure gone wrong
My mind's a sinking ship
And Torment is my song
With no time for Reflection
With no view of the stars
I have no sense
of Direction
Time is not my friend
But an ugly master
With Destruction at the end
And yet an adversary
to Confront
With Battalions so infinite
I seek solace or Redemption
Or perhaps a spiritual
Repose
I would gladly trade
places as any
Ghastly sinner knows
Shudder at the grey walls
No...they are just velvet cloaks
Glance behind them and
Only darkness lurks

How

How do I mend a broken heart
How can I lessen the pain
How will I Repair the parts
That will make it whole again

How do you mend a broken heart
When you no longer care
I once had a brand new start
Then you were no longer there

I wish I could fix this broken heart
But the pieces are so small
Was I ever clever or smart
Did you ever love me at all?

A May Day

Working on hundredth poem
Without a lot for me to say
Perhaps what is known
Of the weather this sunny day

A day in May with sunshine
Dandelions in with the grass
Darn things are a nuisance
The yellows' in such a mass

Will dig them all up you realize
Find the lawnmower and gas
Cut the lawn and fertilize
Give the lawn a little class

Love May as it gives us flowers
Its the dandelions that I hate
It'll take me hours and hours
And as flowers ..... second rate

But wait a moment gratuitous son
Don't throw hordes of them away
We can make wine by the ton
So as not to waste our prescious day!
