Dream

Sense your spirit. Sense your mind.
Sense your morals. You're so kind.
Love your spirit. Love your body.
Protect your secrets. Yes, you're somebody.

Love's Decline

I grapple upon the slippery slope.
My frenzied eyes pleading for a rope.
My soul has died and thus my hope.
I'm slowly sliding from the icy slope.

The icy glare is also in her eyes.
Not a thread of mercy to idolize.
The gold haired beauty runs away.
I know her well this last painful day.

Now perpetually falling, gently turning.
My fate certain as is my yearning.
Why did I love her and speak it?
Now I think as my heart she breaks it.

Through the cold air I gently glide,
While I await my imminent collide.
What to have differed now with thought?
The epiphany is if I could I would not!

I know my fate is to be without you,
Have my tormented heart break in two.
My cruel empty soul's inability to cope,
Yearns for... the plateau above the slope.

Gone Now

Lingering thoughts as I gaze
To memories of happy days
Flowers, fragrances, fuzzy faces
The sense of wonder in your embraces
Gone now
Not even traces
Emptiness like empty trees, naked without their green leaves
A rose without its petals.... only bulbs in cold brown ground
A flagpole missing its flag....stored in a drawer for future use
An umbrella pole without its canopy....what use can it now be
More thoughts of what was
Such joy with you...just because
Laughter, smiles, sense of grace
The sense of wonder in every place
Gone now
No remnants
Void in my heart, a soul that weeps....
Missing something quite unique
A cart without a horse, a guitar without its strings
A bird......... that no longer sings!

Broken

Broken
He shuffles aimlessly
Half heartedly muttering words
Drooping head and listless gait
Broken man with
Wounded heart and shattered armour plate
Yesterday a fearless soul
Commanding voice
And feeling whole
Damn the whole female race!
Vanquished man subdued
Not with a sword
Nor with a mace
But just a single piercing word
That Now defines his
Creviced face

Fragrant Blue

Fragrant blue
The aroma of your eyes
Because my senses all become unglued
Whenever you're near I become confused
The sound of your ears are thunderous loud
As if sheet lightning in a thunder cloud
I smell your eyes and have to smile
Your soul exudes your inner child
Because my senses all become unglued
Whenever you're near I become confused
I feel your voice with my hand
And caress it only as a man can
Your smell I touch with my fingertips
And turn it softly over my lips
Because my senses all become unglued
Whenever you're near I become confused
So darling please end my total confusion
Hold me close and blow in my eyes
Look in my ear and clear up my illusion
Listen to my touch as it speaks the truth
See my voice as it looks into your eyes
Think of love in a million sunsrise
You held me close and kissed my lips
Caressed my hair and a voice reassured
Your eyes are blue and your body smells so sweet
I hear your voice and the confusions gone
Hold me darling until the dawn!!

Sweet gentle beauty

Sweet gentle beauty
What pain behind those eyes
You treat your sorrow as a duty
With a forced smile that never lies
Why does God test us so
Why is faith often betrayed
We walk the road given though
Hurting as we feel so frayed
Walking numb at times hoping
The constant tears can be delayed
Ever worrying and deteriorating
Trying to foretell the cards played
Even if the burden is unimagineable
We go on for other's sake
Keeping our composure tangible
Hoping life will give us a break
Oh sweet gentle beauty
My arms surround and caress you
Enabling you to finally see
The pleasure you once knew
And was always meant to be
Not Plagued by all this sorrow
That refuses to set you free
I prey there is a God tomorrow
I prey there is divine sympathy
To ease your pain and wounds
Give you the life that never seems to be
And can never come to soon
Oh sweet gentle beauty
You deserve your turn at happiness
Sorrow is not your natural state
You are not deserving of this stress
You were meant to shine and enjoy
This is not destined to be your fate
Please then let us attempt to destroy
The pain that keeps you caged of late
And restrains your natural joy

Eternity

An owl hoots
A coyote howls
In the barren swamp
An animal growls
In the sky the stars glint
Near the black horizon the moon tints
Overhead a meteor blazes
Spews colour as it sinks to earth in stages
Others follow and then none
The meteorites and earth as one
An owl hoots
A coyote howls
In the barren swamp
An animal growls

Slack

The computer hums
Brain cells numb
Text slowly appears across the screen
Words are slow at four a.m.
The banana peel is getting brown
The crumpled papers seem upside down
One bulb shimmers and burns out as if dying
Seems like old man Slumber I'm just defying
I rub the sleep from my eyes and yawn
Only hours until I drag the garbage to the curb at dawn
To continue writing would seem so very absurd
I don't think I can type even one more word
The cat scratches at the door
I've no love to give at just past four
Buzz off you lazy curr
Shouldn't be with you... but her
I nod to dreamland and surrender so easily
I snore but reasonably
I dream I'm a young scoudrel full of courage
Damn! I've gone and slept and missed the garbage
The banana peel is looking black
Another hour and the peel will look back
Shouldn't slept in the chair but the sack
How did I get so damn slack!!

Apricot Wine

You and me and apricot wine
The memories still so very fine
Lips like sweet fruit on the vine
Just you, me and apricot wine

A glass of nectar from the gods
Made us happy like drunken sods
Danced swiftly from room to room
Happening to stop in the bedroom

You and me and apricot wine
Kissed your lips as I was inclined
Just you, me and apricot wine
Made love not so totally refined

Another glass my ravishing dear
My selfish intent now quite clear
Oh what the heck did you say?
In the bedroom we should stay!

You and me and apricot wine
Feeling happy, feeling fine
Arm in arm and your lips on mine
Just you, me and apricot wine

No outside world to complain
No evil intent ever to explain
You and me and apricot wine
We three had a wonderful time

You and me and apricot wine
Next morning not quite so inclined
A horrible feeling I'm resigned
Just you, me and ... no more apricot wine!

Broken Allegiance

The earth is groaning
What traitors we are
Red sunsets and glorious mornings
Birds and wildlife that enchanted
Where are the frogs of my childhood?
..and little chameleons that I grew up with
Frogs were everywhere in abundance
The earth is moaning
What liars we are
Growing flowers and vegetables
With natural fertilizer and heritage seeds
A horse and plough was all we needed
A childhood of fresh food and clean air
Fruits and berries seemed to spring everywhere
Clean water was in abundance
The earth is frowning
What idiots we are
Turning our back on our friend nature
It could not speak so we just raped it
It would not turn on us so we just ruined it
It silently stood buy with the wisdom we would see
That destroying it was destroying we
The earth is raging
We have infuriated it
What have we done
Even now we don't see for our greed is fanatical
Convenience has taking over our lives
Nature is dumped with our sloth and lack of care
We pollute the ground, water and air
We know and yet don't care
The earth will not forgive
It will show no mercy
Nor allow Redemption
Would You!!

Angel Without Wings

How did you loose your wings?
Did you land softly to earth?
Surely you are an angel that has fallen
The ground embraces your walk
The air is purified by your prescence
When you touch water it becomes crystal clear
When you speak birds stop to listen
Whenever you smile the sun glows brighter
When you gaze into my eyes you melt my soul
Surely you are an angel
In the darkness you radiate
In my arms you are exstacy
In my mind you are joy and peace and tranquility
in my eyes you are an angel without wings
If this is but a dream...don't pinch me
If this is a vision do not disturb me
If this is not a dream let me live forever
And if you are an angel then do not forsake me

Thanksgiving Dinner

I had a dinner at friends' for Thanksgiving.
The turkey was quite moist and very tastey too.
The mashed potatoes with just a little butter would be forgiving.
Sweet potatoes glazed and not. I should check out the two.
Just one bun with butter. The rye bread should be good for me.
Carrots and green beans so very healthy also.
A heap of stuffing as I don't want to offend you see.
A chunk of ham will compliment don't you just know
Oh look pickles, several kinds. I think 6 will suffice..
Pickled cauliflower I must remind myself of the flavour
Oh of course cranberry sauce to add zing. Surely not a vice.
A glass of wine and an apperatif will go down very well if I just savour.
Pumpkin pie and a tea or what would Thanksgiving be.
I give thanks for family, food and friends
But most of all I give thanks to the last adequate sufficiency.
The several antacid pills I used finally at the end.
