Fragile

Capable and strong
Survivor of all that's wrong
Yet delicate as linen lace
Fragile with new challenges to face

About this poem:
Often life seems to have all negative intersect at the same relative time in
one's life and no matter how much stamina we have we reach the edge
of shattering. This is a tribute to those people and an understanding of
their unique plight.

Grey and Read

Grey and dread or Grey and Read
Doubtful times, I'll stay in bed
Grey passive cobwebbed mind
Stay transfixed in one's own time
Bridled grief and subdued sorrow
Works unspoken until tomorrow
Words of affection left to mellow
Now are lost on this deathly fellow
Chronicles of memories future's fade
Dogged thoughts of grief pervade
Cataclysmic erruptions of heart and soul
One can't cry out, perhaps exact the toll
Hours spent on sympathetic jestures
"Take you scarf and gloves and sit here sir!"
Fragrant flowers in the meadows
Bury him deep beside the willows
Eulogized with gracious words of wit
But still the hollow empty body sits
Still in shock the angry mind silently rages
Your life has changed, just turn the pages.

About this poem:
For some reason memories of my uncle's funeral came to me.
Perhaps the winter blues...perhaps the fond memories while he lived...
I don't know. It was a numb and blurry time.

Limerick elsewhere than Nantucket

There once was a woman from Charlotte
Whose reputation was that of a Harlot
She was certainly not a whore
But could definitely be secured
For she had a penchance for chocolate

Curse and Blessing

A cry in the night with a startled awakening
A cold sweat and an uncontrolled shakening
Worried of a cherished loved one
Fears of their health and what is to come
We think the worst but prey for the best
But our misgivings make us a pititful mess
It is what makes us human ...could be much worse
This humanity which is both a blessing and curse
Gives us stress and changes our course
Confuses our mind like an unknown force
But gives us caring and the ability to love
Fond memories strived for and won
It is what makes us human...could be much worse
The ability to care and worry are both a blessing and curse
Any yet it is what it is and most of us
Would have it no other way
The good with the bad
The happy with the sad
It is peoples range of feelings that
Makes life both horrible and fantastic
The alternative is a clinical anestetic option
With no feelings that would simply leave us numb
It is what makes the good times great
and awesome by comparison
So grab life with a vengeance and
Do your best to help others, knowing
There are valleys of darkness between the peaks of bright
Weather the storms but live for...... the sunlight

Missing You

I miss you like a part of me
That I never thought Id ever see
I never knew or even cared
I'd become numb and never dared
Think there could ever, ever be
Someone that enchanted me
The way you did, or make me see
There could be more to life than levity
I'd become numb and walled my heart
Not wanting it to be again split apart
My pain was endless, but I bared it alone
Got used to it as it seeped into every bone
My mind could not ease out the pain
You entered in like good morphaine
My mind at ease and then in ecstasy
As I hallucinated you being with me
You were the drug...my drug of choice
I loved your laugh and adored your voice
your moral compass and tact
I loved to chat...I respected all that
I loved you then. I love you now
The emptiness you created makes me vow
To never let my guard down again
I loved you and also was your good friend
As time went on you would not even that allow
My consciousness and abilities wained somehow
My drug of choice you took away
I can barely get threw the next day
Your face and smile and laugh I miss
I longed to hold you and then to kiss
No thoughts of lust or greed or self
I only wanted to make you happy and make you smile
Perhaps to love and have you love me back for a while
Really I wanted to grow old with you
To make you smile and laugh til we both knew
We were meant to be together for ever
Grow old to the grave and forsake you never

Complete Beauty

Her outer beauty conceals an inner truth
She hides a golden heart she's had since a youth
While often such a pretty woman would be vain
This lovely faired haired woman is far from inane
She has empathy and forgiveness within her sorrowful heart
And also has a creative brain that humbly displays her unique art

Like a tender flower with beautiful supple petals
The flower's stem often bellies its extra strong mettle
On further inspection it gives a fragrant pleasing scent
It brings pleasure and inspiration that increases as its intent
It still brings joy dispite the fact its picked and slowly wanes
The flower warms the heart and its exceptional art is self explained

This woman is awesomely attractive as can be
Yet she has no aires about her as all can plainly see
She has character, tact, kindness, compassion and soul
Despite her equisite beauty she still retains a magic goal
To help less fortunate, give words of encouragement and more
She thinks of others, has grace, sympathy, honesty and faithful repore

Thus God created this lovely woman on his spiritual earth
As a complete beauty both outwardly and inwardly has worth
As I see it she is the complete package when viewed over time
Many may not notice it but my heart has observed her inner chime
Without fanfare or special awards that she would naturally decline
I'd just like to explain that I think she's a complete beauty as I define

Firelight and Flame

In the amber hue of firelight
Flames flicker as we watch tonight
Basking in the glow of flames and love
While wisps of smoke float content above
Look into the crackling flame with me
With our imagination can't you see
We were always meant to be so clever
Looking into the flames forever
Our attention locked as one
Viewing flames until the dawn
Do you see what I can see,
As the flames create our imagery
I see us in each other's embrace
With good intentions and true grace.
Now I see us back to back
Fighting evil and demons black
Our shared desires that we quest
Obstacles that we both fight the best
Is this not love's true test
Willing to die for the other's request
Flames that roar so high towards the sky
Represent our passion's nigh
Don't ever let out the fire
Feed it with our heart's desire
Wth all I am and will ever be
I'll feed the fire now come lay with me

Moonlight Memories

On such a serene cool winter night
The calmness beckons old memories in
I see your face where shines the moon light
On yonder curving soft white parrafin
Your soft white face as if cast in wax of white
Its solid shape now pulls me toward and in
And now my heart won't acknowlege past plight
The memories old of the love resembling sin
The love so joyous could not be a Godly sight
We loved so much sweet girl of supple skin
Tis no doubt we commited a near fatal blight
We hosted a love far beyond where love has been
If this had been nectar from the god's so bright
We feasted til full and took others' share unseen
We took twice our share and thought it alright
Laughing, living and loving til it seemed quite obscene
Then Perhaps our energy used and becoming slight
We slowly wasted away in a drifting way serene
Such that I only want to remember the early night
And drift away slowly before the end of the dream

Knifetooth

Motionless in the prairie grass the Smilodon intently lay.
In the early morning sunshine waiting for its favourite prey.
No movement or heavy breathing as it reclined statuesque.
This carnivore's invisible hunting talent was the very best.

At the water hole a small herd of bison sauntered there.
Carefully inhaling samples of the morning mist and air.
The Sabretooth predator instinctively stayed downwind.
The bisons sipped the water and several sauntered right in.

With lightning speed the statue amazingly came to life!
Several leaps and bounds towards food oh so very rife.
The 400 pound Knifetooth lept like an arrow leading game,
Its frenzied target true and tried with accurate quivered aim.

The great ravenous Sabretooth had became airborne!
The bison scattered like so many black buttons being torn.
The closest bison startled but seem to be entranced,
As if its iris took a final image of the hunter's clever dance.

The bison then turned and bolted but tardiness be judged!
The Sabretooth landed and its fangs would not be budged.
The bison reared in fear and head swirled round in pain,
As if to take one lasting look of its habitat domain.

The sabre tooth grabbed ribs with claws of steel
And took another bite like a trap with huge spring feel.
The bison lost balance and tumbled to the right
As Smilodon went faster now to not prolong its fight.

Tearing fur and cleaving flesh was everywhere in sight.
Mournful awful weeping sounds suggested end of flight.
Spurting blood escaping from veins and ventriculum!
The bison slowly dying becoming increasingly numb.

Furied Flying soil and hair from fangs and claws of steel.
Empty stomach and transfixed mind made it all too real.
The prey melted and all parts finally hugged the ground.
The soon to be carcass then exhaled its... final mournful sound.

About this poem:
In the age of the Sabretooth (Named Smilodon meaning Knifetooth)
It is thought the sabretooth used its stealth to blend in and
waited for game as it was not realy all that agile. Its favourite
food being bison apparently.

Clear Thought

Find a quiet place with not a single soul around.
It must be deathy quiet without any kind of sound.
Now close your eyes and forget all else.
Forget what others say and quiet common sense.
Make your mind go blank and block out all other clever thought.
Think of that special someone that you recently forgot.
Imagine you and them and block all other.
No world or worries or stress to bother.
No traffic, ipod or glass encrusted towers.
Dream of only you two in a pleasant field of flowers.
No tv, no computer, no rich food or wine or other.
No limousine, no stylish clothes, credit cards to smother.
Just you and they and flowers and sky of blue.
Are you happy with nought except you two?
Do you both smile and does the feeling linger?
Is a pleasant thought touching face with index finger?
Are there words that carress and touch your heart?
Are such loving words rich food for carefree joyous thought?
Do you feel safe, secure and well respected?
Are such feelings from the other one sincerely reflected?
Do you want this feeling to continue and never end?
Then perhaps reflect again with clear thought my friend.
It is a world of instant access that provides data at fast rate,
This information rarely states that it frequently controls our fate.
There are rules and guidelines and endless decisions.
Not all fit each and every circumstance and should be fodder for revision.
Make your own succinct decision of your lifeplan.
For all else is folly predicated on the practicality of man.
The rules for affairs of the heart simply stress,
Real true love is the only thing that provides us happiness.

First Meeting

My heart is thumping
We are going to meet at last
Heart keep pumping
My heart is full of feelings I've amassed
I'm befuddled, I'm anxious, I'm not sure
what I am but I'm not myself.
I'm usually calm and cool and don't wince under pressure.
I guess this means I really, really think this is crucial.
Thought I'd be cool but God I feel like a fool.
Panic city! What to do? What to say?
Calm down you dufus. She likes you for
who you are doesn't she?
So I'll just be myself. There are millions
of people who pretend to be someone else.
Maybe she just wants someone to be themself
and not play silly games. That's what I want also
so just calm down and be your charming self
BoyshChrm and all will be well. I want it to
all go well so badly. Strange phrase
"well so badly"...don't use that...it
might be a jinx. Now I'm stressed again
Mercy!! Gotta get this over with!!
Oh what pain!!
