Man Says Dog Drove His Car

And now for your morning news!

A man was arrested in Oconee County, Georgia, USA, Wednesday after he claimed his dog drove him to the store.
Oconee County Sheriff Sgt. Partain says he responded to a call about a dog locked in a car at a Bell's Food Store near Butler's Crossing. The outside temperature registered at 99 degrees and the internal temperature of the car, which was measured with a handheld thermometer, was 123 degrees.
Partain said a can of gasoline in the vehicle reeked and described the smell as "stifling."
The driver of the car, Wesley Mark Terrell, 60, told Partain that his dog drove him to Bell's to buy some corn. According to the Sheriff's Office, Terrell appeared to be highly intoxicated.
Partain arrested Terrell and charged him with animal cruelty and driving under the influence.

Animal Control took custody of the dog.

Hi Jim
I really expected to hear that the dog actually drove the car. During the late 70s a farmer near Ogies in the then Eastern Transvaal taught his tame baboon to drive a tractor. The farmer said he did a better job than some of his farmhands.

The baboon became quite a celebrity and people stopped to watch the baboon. When he was not driving the tractor, he used to sit on the fender with the farmer while working. Apparently he loved driving the tractor.

But then when we were kids, we cousins fought about who can drive the tractors. We all loved it. Baboons we all are.rolling on the floor laughing

Hi Jim, Interesting story... I am glad that Animal control took custody of the Dog, its so cruel to leave an animal in a car, they literally can burn to death.... Some people dont deserve to own Animals. Poor Dog. He also could have killed somebody driving whilst drunk. Irish Police pretty tough and take no nonsense. However in courts there seems to be a law for rich and another for poor
@ Gentlejim - conversing .. I think that the dog should be granted a vehicle license but it still bothers me that if the dog was smart enough to drive to the shop, why didn't he know how to wind down the window.... confused dunno

... grin cheers
You got me Hans. This could just be a figment of the cops imagination!confused You think the dog had a nip or 2?confused
