Oranges and lemons

Got home the other day from shopping to find a bag of lemons hanging on the door - they turned out to be from my new neighbours from Madrid, who own a holiday home here. There are 11 of them, and they are HUGE. (The lemons, not the neighbours)

My builder arrived today with a bulging bag of oranges. There must be 30 of them.

I don’t currently have a kitchen until said builder finishes strutting his stuff, which at this rate could be February or March, so making orange juice and lemonade is problematic.

Suggestions?

National day of slaughter...

Instead of making a big song and dance about an outdated American tradition

You should consider a moments silence .....
And bow your head in shame

88% of Americans surveyed by the National Turkey Federation eat turkey on Thanksgiving. 46 million turkeys are eaten each Thanksgiving, 22 million on Christmas and 19 million turkeys on Easter.

That's 87 million lives taken

And you claim to be caring animal lovers

The age of a meat pie does it matter

Pies in all walks of life and the wild r complex creatures ruled by their pastry ,filling, shape ,and size
Very few r more like sausage rolls in their outlook on life. Gravey, peas ,and chips etc r just accessories. Just basic sauce is the only adornment ?

What type do u attract and what type do u want on the other hand ?

What type r u ?

Cheerleaders ate my Pony

Ever since I was knee high to a zebra I had always dreamed of owning a pony, a pony of my very own. I scrimped and saved for many decades working 7 jobs at once; I sewed buttons on zipless jackets for 10 hours a day and worked as a plate washer at a major Burger chain.

Finally the day arrived, I had a paddock, a warm comfortable stable and a little rake all ready, Boomslang my pony was a reality.

We laughed and watched TV; we shared our meals and became the best of friends, his little grin always brightened up the cold dark days of winter.

One day a minibus of lost cheerleaders came by, they were cold and wet and in need of warmth, I invited them into the stable, they soon removed their skimpy wet outfits and warmed themselves in the hay. I offered hot cocoa and egg sandwiches and they gulped it all down and settled down to sleep.

I had a job down the coal mines before my hours at the cotton mills and left them under the care of my pony Boomslang.

I returned after my 78 hour shift ready for to ride Boomy around whilst I giggled uncontrollably and what greeted me will haunt me for the rest of my life, The cheerleaders had gone and the remains of my pony still glowed in the embers of a fire, his bones cleared of meat littered the stable, my bottle of Mayonnaise was also empty, Boomslang was gone, so were my dreams.

We all have dreams, or work hard towards achieving something, karma can strike and ruin them in an instant, but we can simply start again, after all dreams can be achieved with hard work and time.

Say whatever you want, just not that stuff that's dominating this place.

Chocolate 101

I love making chocolate confections. There is something about the glistening smoothness and dark rich color that brings all of my senses alive.

To make chocolate covered strawberries, first pick the freshest, plumpest, juiciest, bright red berries you can find. They must look as though they would burst in your mouth in divine splendor.

Next, find the chocolate that sings to you. I love a dark chocolate. It has to have just the right stiffness to it...a snap, yet it must melt in your mouth like the creamiest butter. The flavor ought to unveil itself as it touches your tongue and leave a slightly sweet yet bitter after taste. Depending on where the cacao was grown there will be different undertones of taste sensations hidden in the chocolate. As it melts slowly on your tongue it ought to beguile you in its complexity.

Now, once the chocolate is picked from the myriad of choices, gently melt it at a low temp. It's important to go slowly, stirring and heating the chocolate until it has melted and becomes a smooth and shining liquid. It must not be too hot as it will not envelop the strawberry in a thick coating. It must be warm to the touch and thick enough to cling to your spoon.

Once the chocolate is at its perfect temperature and consistency, gently dip the strawberry into the ready and waiting velvety dark smoothness. Undulate the strawberry in such a way as to get a good coating. Remove the strawberry from the delectable and tantalizing confection. Repeat dipping and pulling until you get the desired coating on the strawberry.

Carefully lay the finished product onto an appropriate surface for cooling. Once the chocolate has hardened, it is ready to be enjoyed in its entirety.

If you take your children to McDonald, especially if you order a “Happy Meal” for them. You should be held unaccountable for child abuse. Organic. Give me spots on my apples.....

but leave me the birds and the bees. Joni M. Never met a drunken looser tie she didn't want to jump on. Who really believes that the stuff the trust fund baby types spend too much for is really organic? Aa.
