Attending a birthday and catching some sun.

Yesterday, I went to my youngest nieces 1 year birthday celebration, so we went to a pretty nice place in Roskilde, right next to the viking ship museum. On the menu was brunch, so I was looking forward to getting some great food and meeting new people, since my sisters fiances family were attending as well. I have only met four of them, so it was nice to meet the rest. The weather was fantastic, but a bit windy. Still - the sun was shining, so it was the perfect time to get some sun in before the meal.

My mother, my aunt, my uncle and I were the first people to arrive, so we had some time to really take in the place we were eating at. I looked at the menu, and some of the dishes were pretty expensive, but they sounded fantastic. One of the menu items was surf 'n' turf, which contained a steak from a corn fed angus cow, spiny lobster, calamari fritti, steak fries, bearnaise sauce and aioli. I am not really fond of lobster, so when I go back, I am getting the item called "steak fries". That menu item is a steak from a corn fed angus, steak fries and bearnaise sauce.

Anyway!

Once inside the restaurant, people started to show up. The first people I said hello to, were my sisters fiances mother and her daughter. The daughter and I got chatting, which was quite nice. New people to get to know is just what I need after seeing the same people for a few months.

Food was served, and we found our seats. The sheer amount of food was simply overwhelming. It's been a while since I had been at a brunch, so I was not sure if there were any rules, or if it was a "fill your plate and eat" type of situation. I looked around and noticed people went for the "fill your plate and eat" type of deal, so I made my way to the food.

One of the items were peaking my interest: Triangle toast, fried in butter with cream cheese in the middle. On the table were other items such as three types of eggs: Fried, hard boiled and scrambled. Bacon, warm liver paté with bacon and mushrooms, five types of bread, cold meats, three types of cheese, fruit, vegetables, chicken wings, pancakes, croissants, pastries and sausages.

Sides included butter, syrup, jam and nutella. The drinks on offer were orange juice, apple juice, chocolate milk, coffee, tea and sparkling water

So much to pick from that I didn't know where to start. I started with some bread, liver paté and a pancake with nutella on. My drink of choice was chocolate milk and orange juice. I don't do coffee or tea.

As the morning slowly drifted by, the food started to fill me up. By then, it was time for cake. They had bought a fantastic looking cake from a local bakery, and it was simply divine. Not too sweet, which was perfect after an hour of eating.

A short while later, it was time to leave again. I made my way over to the first people I talked to at the start of the day and held out my hand in a hand shake to say goodbye, because I'm a gentleman and I shake hands with people that I have just met. Setting a good example, you know.

It was a fun day, and I even got to do a bit of car spotting. Behind the truly massive and impressive looking Roskilde Cathedral, I had my first ever Aston Martin DB5 spot. It was parked next to a bright blue Porsche Taycan, a 1972 Mercedes-Benz SL350 and a Caterham Seven 310R. As a car guy, it was fantastic to see three types of cars parked next to each other.

And before you ask about what happened between me and the daughter I spoke to, she was there with her boyfriend. Do I hope to meet her again? Absolutely. She's family now, in some way. Family is always good

Enjoy life!

ENJOY LIFE!

Not because your loved one is away, it doesn't mean that your "life" is taken away with him as he sets on for greener pastures. You have your own life to live and you must live it up to the purpose you were created for, with or without your loved one.Anyway, we have our family and friends. What are these social beings surrounding us created for anyway?

Remember, there are definite hardships associated with this relationship style but it is important that those who thrive in a long distance relationship see the suffering, difficulties, distance and time as tools in cultivating their love and rearing up the maturity in their relationship. The best you can do is to strive to be the best of who you are as a person while your partner is away so that when he comes back to you, you are already a full-grown individual whom he will love even more and be more proud of more than ever! For now, just be happy in knowing that across the miles there is someone who thinks you are so special, they are willing to engage in a terrible thing such as a long distance relationship. Keep in mind that your suffering is not forever since your loved one will be back soon and when that time comes, everything will be much sweeter than it was back then.

What do you think about biden’s boss saying illegal immigrants can vote in U.S. elections?

My vote didn’t count in 2020 and I care about our constitution surviving. So, why should theirs count now when they have no allegiance to this country.

The Preppy Killer

Did you hear about the recent parole of a woman killer?...It all went down in a New York City park in the 1980's...
Robert Chambers a lovely young man who was charged with murder but was reduced (he pled to a lesser charge)...due to the testimony and other 'supporters' believed that it was in fact an accident...conversing
He admitted to killing his friend Jennifer (after it became clear that he could not lie about his involvement) in a 'rough sex' went wrong accident... wow
At first he suggested it happened as the young lady was the aggressor and he was defending himself...later he said he applied too much force...idea liar
Adding to this seemingly unreal tale...his lawyer painted this young lady as a slut or bad girl...Robert on the other hand was a good looking, tall, popular lad who went to one of the best schools in NYC...heart beating
If you were privy to see the autopsy photos...I would beg to differ...but then again...this took place in the 80's... uncertain
Another ace up the defense's sleeve was his mother's friend a Catholic Church Cardinal called Uncle Ted...vouched for Robert's virtue/good character...innocent even gave him refuge...
So you can see why the prosecution decided to plead him down to a lesser charge... very mad
Little did they know that Robert's friends and family hid his thievery and drug addiction from the public...shock
It gets better...he gets 5-15 years in the clink but had some behaviour/conduct issues that resulted in him doing the full 15 years...drug use/ smuggling to name a few...
Just when you think you heard enough...there is more...jaw drop
After his release from prison...he decides that dealing drugs out of his apartment is a great job...good for the community...roll eyes
Robert gets busted and spends approx.15 years or so in prison again...his girlfriend gets rehab...maybe they think she has been through enough...stuck
So now he is free and going to be someone's neighbour...
Good Luck New York...wine

I've heard nothing about St. Patrick's Day...

I studied Uilleann (Irish) pipes in a former life and pipers often talked about their 'big gig' was to play in a pub on St. Patrick's Day. Some made the most money on that event, more than any other performance.
Good music, great craic... lots of brew.

I quick scanned the forums and blogs, but not to see any mention of this holiday today.

Tradition for those living in Chicago is to witness them adding dye into the river!

HOLIDAY IN THAILAND

If contemplating a holiday, is Thailand a good place to visit, and are there opportunities to mix with the locals. Are the bars friendly especially at night time and are the ladies willing to help you see the sights, especially if you are male?

Airboat rides...

South Florida has 2 main east-west roads that cross the state passing through the Everglades swampland. Several stops along the way have gas, food, rest areas and all are part of the Big Cypress Wildlife Management. I know there are two Indian tribes who have land there. Seminoles and Miccosukee. They run the stores selling souvenirs like hand made jewelry, trinkets and normal things that tourists buy including things made from alligator hides.
If you have swamp, you need an airboat to travel across the Everglades. There are signs along the way advertising airboat scenic rides. Some are owned by the Indians and some by private companies.
Last week, coming back from an appointment south of me, two pickup trucks were alongside, each with and airboat in tow. One was a triple-deck and the other, really tall as it had four levels. That would put the driver/pilot about 15 feet above the water. My first thought was 'top-heavy' and a ride that would jar your organs loose.

Today in the news, an airboat flipped sending 9 passengers into gator infested waters.
The driver took a sharp turn so he could get a glimpse of an alligator, tipping the boat on it's side. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and the boat's operator was arrested because he did not have the proper documentation necessary to operate the boat.

The USA bannana republic.

What has the world become. A million years to climb out of the trees and caves and now man is returning to them. Gangs take over and run rampant. The un-developed countries flood north to take over developed, leaching off the lib fools using hard working taxpayers money to pamper them. Meanwhile the illegals demand it all, refuse to let go of their proud homeland, barf , and will take any cash they can get to send home so support their family and when they have enough to live well..hi it back to those countries.
Meanwhile homeless and poor get shown the door.
Major cities that once were Americas pride are now garbage dumps filled with muggers, looters, shop lifters, druggies and traffickers. So main corporations, companies and citizens flee to safer, non lib states and towns.
A major Chicago building, next to the old Sears tower, just sold at 90% of what it had been bought for.
Stores can't lose any more good, risk employees safety and hang it up. Illegals wander into suburbs either robbing or knocking on doors demanding food, clothes or cash.
Now cities are looking to raise taxes to take care of illegals. And when the money and handouts run out, what will a million illegals be doing?
Yet we have bleeding hearts demanding government do more for people who hate America. Biden looks at raising taxes and spending more. Mom told me when I was a kid, Dems are the party of tax and spend. Man, was she right!wow
Bidenomics is booming. Meanwhile down on the streets, stores raise prices and offer less. Wages go up and costs go up. Rents rise so people chose rent or food. Big Pharma invents pills and a disease to shove them at you for. Never heard of it, but, hey..believe the ads..you suffer from it.
People are spending. Savings. Credit cards. But, both are maxing out. Then what? Censorship is alive and well. Say the wrong thing and get deleted. Pretty soon, the people will be deleted. Soylent Green anyone. Oh, right, you don't deserve the good crackers. You ARE the good crackers.scold
Be a whistle blower in the US now and end up Putinized.
Work hard and watch your company close. Get a raise and see that automaton move in to take your job.
Read about the inflation my dad lived through in Germany after WW1. He always said the US would go the same route. He was right.blues
