SUMO WRESTLING

Perhaps an avenue of activity that could be enjoyed by the increasing numbers of obese people around the world is "sumo wrestling." You can eat plenty, up to 20,000 calories per day. You can still be healthy, providing you undertake the appropriate regular exercise. The fat tends to be stored just under the skin, rather than around the organs of the body. This means you would be healthier than the usual obese person who would most likely not be taking the regular exercise nor the challenges of wrestling.
It is legal to slap, shove or head butt your opponent.
Sumo wrestlers may way 150 kg.

WAS ZEUS UNIQUE?

Zeus is unique because he is the ruler, protector and father of all god's and humans.
Believing in one god is the same as believing in another. If you believe in Zeus, then it's the same as believing in Jehovah.

Joining something long overdue.

I have been working at my current job since August 2022. Well, since August 8, 2022, if you want to be precise.

That means in six months, I will celebrate my 2 year employment. Ever since I was a child, I have been told that I have to join a union, for my own sake. I have been wanting to join one, but I have always been putting it off for another day - mainly because I couldn't afford it and I didn't really need it when I wasn't working. My only permanent jobs has been three years in a supermarket, in an office in Scotland and where I work now. Three permanent jobs since 2007. Other times I worked had been through a temp agency, and even then I didn't know if I needed to join a union. So I didn't join one.

Now, with me working full time, and making enough, I can now afford to join a union. I joined the cheapest one I could find. It will set me back a whopping $83 a month. The first six months are free, however.

Now, I know that there has been a LOT of talk in the US about how unions are bad, but I see them as a good thing. They can help me if I somehow feel like my employer is treating me bad. If I get laid off unexpectedly, I can get unemployment funds for 2 years. More than enough time to allow me to find another job, if required. 2.254 million people in Denmark are members of a union. It's encouraged to be a member from the time you start your higher education. I just never joined one until last week - when I am almost 40..

But at least they'll help me if I, for some reason, get treated unfairly at work or if I get laid off out of nowhere

Old Time Superstitions & Charms

One time, superstitions were a daily part of life. Everyone believed in ghosts and other superstitious stuff. Generally not so much today because of our lifestyle and electronics. That don't mean however that the old timers were totally wrong. There is more to things than we can explain and just because we can't explain it, it doesn't mean its not there.

I had a great uncle who could stop blood. True, no bullshit, he really could stop a person from bleeding just by focusing on the cut and saying something to himself, the bleeding would stop no matter how bad the cut was. He never did tell anyone how to do it (I think it was part of a stipulation for learning it originally). There have been many cases where people went to him with a bad cut and he stopped the bleeding. Well known around the area.

My hands used to be covered in warts when I was young. I grew up in the very tail end of the old ways and a few of those superstitions were still around. One I used to hear was to count your warts, put that many rocks in a bag, stand back on to the woods, toss the bag behind your shoulder, don't look back, and in that many days, your warts will be gone. I done it one day, counted the warts, put the rocks in the bag, tossed them in the woods standing back on and walked away not looking back. I never kept track of the days or anything as I just got back to my normal routine and had forgotten I done it. In a week or so time, I had something in my hand and I had to look twice, my hands were wart free, and not only that, I never had a wart come back again since.

I had a classmate who grew up in a haunted house. Been lots of witnesses to wild shit happening in that house. It was eventually torn down as you couldn't live any kind of a normal life in the house, crazy paranormal activity.

Friend of mine lived in a haunted place in her younger years, she used to see a shadow man wearing a hat among other things. Her family had to get out of it and into a new house.

I would never actively pursue any kind of paranormal activity as you could open the door for more than you bargained for but always had a passing interest. When one person tells you about a sighting, its easy to dismiss it but when 10 people tell you about the same sighting, there may be more to it.

That sounds fishy to me...

I came across a video on tuna harvesting where they are farmed and contained in nets getting fresh salt water. This is totally different than older processes where fish are in a lake and the sea water is pumped in.

HUMILIATION: Creepy Joe’s SOTU Address Receives Worst Polling in Past Quarter Century

While the left salivated over Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address, the polling numbers tell a different story.

Even the far-left Washington Post has acknowledged that the figures do not match up to the hype.

In a report on Friday, the paper admitted that while the left vociferously praised Biden’s divisive, rambling and angry speech, it is “not so clear the American public saw the home run that they did.”

The report noted:

Democrats would like to believe that President Biden changed the 2024 game with his State of the Union address Thursday night, demonstrating verve and combativeness amid concerns about his age and mental acuity.

Biden’s campaign and some media outlets have pointed to a post-speech instant CNN poll showing 65 percent of viewers offered a positive review of Biden’s speech. Viewers also shifted 17 points toward believing the country is headed in the right direction — from 45 percent before the speech to 62 percent afterward.

It went on to explain that these positive polling numbers are somewhat of a red herring:

What’s also true is that State of the Union speeches almost always receive strongly favorable views, in part because viewership tends to draw disproportionately from their allies.

The 65 percent who had a positive view of the speech was actually lower than any such speech CNN has polled in the past quarter-century — the previous low being Donald Trump’s 2018 address (70 percent).

And the 35 percent who offered a “very” positive review was effectively tied with Biden’s speech last year (34 percent) for the lowest on record. The next lowest were Biden’s 2022 speech and George W. Bush’s 2007 speech, which each earned “very” positive marks from 41 percent of viewers.

The speech, which involved Biden repeatedly falsely claiming success over issues on which he has dismally failed, was best summarized by Tucker Carlson over on the X platform.

“Joe Biden is actually a cruel and vicious demagogue,” he explained. “A man who has no problem at all denouncing his fellow Americans and putting his political opponents in prison as he has done.

That was possibly the darkest, most un-American speech ever given by an American president,” he continued. “In fact, it wasn’t a speech, it was a rant, entirely lacking in decency or generosity to his fellow Americans.”

Attending a birthday and catching some sun.

Yesterday, I went to my youngest nieces 1 year birthday celebration, so we went to a pretty nice place in Roskilde, right next to the viking ship museum. On the menu was brunch, so I was looking forward to getting some great food and meeting new people, since my sisters fiances family were attending as well. I have only met four of them, so it was nice to meet the rest. The weather was fantastic, but a bit windy. Still - the sun was shining, so it was the perfect time to get some sun in before the meal.

My mother, my aunt, my uncle and I were the first people to arrive, so we had some time to really take in the place we were eating at. I looked at the menu, and some of the dishes were pretty expensive, but they sounded fantastic. One of the menu items was surf 'n' turf, which contained a steak from a corn fed angus cow, spiny lobster, calamari fritti, steak fries, bearnaise sauce and aioli. I am not really fond of lobster, so when I go back, I am getting the item called "steak fries". That menu item is a steak from a corn fed angus, steak fries and bearnaise sauce.

Anyway!

Once inside the restaurant, people started to show up. The first people I said hello to, were my sisters fiances mother and her daughter. The daughter and I got chatting, which was quite nice. New people to get to know is just what I need after seeing the same people for a few months.

Food was served, and we found our seats. The sheer amount of food was simply overwhelming. It's been a while since I had been at a brunch, so I was not sure if there were any rules, or if it was a "fill your plate and eat" type of situation. I looked around and noticed people went for the "fill your plate and eat" type of deal, so I made my way to the food.

One of the items were peaking my interest: Triangle toast, fried in butter with cream cheese in the middle. On the table were other items such as three types of eggs: Fried, hard boiled and scrambled. Bacon, warm liver paté with bacon and mushrooms, five types of bread, cold meats, three types of cheese, fruit, vegetables, chicken wings, pancakes, croissants, pastries and sausages.

Sides included butter, syrup, jam and nutella. The drinks on offer were orange juice, apple juice, chocolate milk, coffee, tea and sparkling water

So much to pick from that I didn't know where to start. I started with some bread, liver paté and a pancake with nutella on. My drink of choice was chocolate milk and orange juice. I don't do coffee or tea.

As the morning slowly drifted by, the food started to fill me up. By then, it was time for cake. They had bought a fantastic looking cake from a local bakery, and it was simply divine. Not too sweet, which was perfect after an hour of eating.

A short while later, it was time to leave again. I made my way over to the first people I talked to at the start of the day and held out my hand in a hand shake to say goodbye, because I'm a gentleman and I shake hands with people that I have just met. Setting a good example, you know.

It was a fun day, and I even got to do a bit of car spotting. Behind the truly massive and impressive looking Roskilde Cathedral, I had my first ever Aston Martin DB5 spot. It was parked next to a bright blue Porsche Taycan, a 1972 Mercedes-Benz SL350 and a Caterham Seven 310R. As a car guy, it was fantastic to see three types of cars parked next to each other.

And before you ask about what happened between me and the daughter I spoke to, she was there with her boyfriend. Do I hope to meet her again? Absolutely. She's family now, in some way. Family is always good
