Ups and downs of loving we all do surely know but friendships shared have, too, a gentle ebb and flow When you are down, above with spirits high someone may well be seen but also beneath can be found a friend with their deep sigh Spir

Liam gets 100 percent credit for this. He is so creative, and contributed most to this short effort. Thank you Liam for this highly enjoyable collaboration.
Recently I had a worrying health scare but thank God all tests and scans were clear. I wrote this little poem in the hospital car park. I need to say...... It was Cancer that made me write so without it I wouldn't be part of this lovely family-like corner. Thanks for all your reads and comments. Special thanks to "C" for kind support , and "L" for prayers. Onwards and upwards..........Mick.

Being female, not black how can I possibly know what it’s like to walk in dark male skin, where in a white-dominated society being young and loved is not enough to keep one safe to walk about free-born. Skittles, iced tea from store co

The arrival of vast waves of white settlers in the 1800s, and their conflict with the Native American residents of the prairies, spelled the end for the buffalo. There were even buffalo killing contests. In one, a Kansan set a record by killing 120 bison in just 40 minutes. “Buffalo” Bill Cody, hired to slaughter the animals, killed more than 4,000 buffalo in just two years. Some U.S. government officials even promoted the destruction of the bison herds as a way to defeat their Native American enemies, who were resisting the takeover of their lands by white settlers. One Congressman, James Throckmorton of Texas, believed that “it would be a great step forward in the civilization of the Indians and the preservation of peace on the border if there was not a buffalo in existence.” Soon, military commanders were ordering their troops to kill buffalo — not for food, but to deny Native Americans their own source of food. One general believed that buffalo hunters “did more to defeat the Indian nations in a few years than soldiers did in 50.” By 1880, the slaughter was almost over. Where millions of buffalo once roamed, only a few thousand animals remained.

Nothing worse than a toxic relationship. Old wounds take so long to heal.
There are a lot of busy bodies out there who think they are making the world a better place and are instead just being jerks. I can't stand to see parrots in cages. I went to this zoo where they had so many parrots crammed into a caged area that they had pulled most of the feathers off of each other. You can find this zoo in WI Dells, Wisconsin.

There's a forgetful old broad they call Babe, She can't even remember her age, But she knows she had fun When she was young, And she remembers how many she's laid.
Breathing in than breathing faster, A perfect disaster this life of mine. I need a drink while I'm still here waiting, For this to all to be over and I'll be home. To sit by myself and think for a second Turning into minutes and now hours long.
I met a lovely angel the other night my God it felt so very right ! Her smile melted my heart I felt her warmth right from the start. She winked at me from across the room and my heart resounded, boom boo

A little bit of light-hearted humor and a smile for you all. :-) "Roy" is my cousin, and he did find the truck and was instructed to get it cleaned out- white glove style- Cost him a small fortune, but it was well worth it. He was also instructed to put leather scented air freshener in it. The windshield was replaced as well. The 'ol truck was sold to a 16 year old boy who had been dreaming of some wheels of his own. :-)
