THIS DAY

Help me, Lord, to use this day
to give rest to the weary, help someone on their way.

Give me strength to be patient, when I'm at my wits end
and courage to reach out, when someone needs a friend.

Grant me wisdom to chose rightly, when I've choices to make.
the right words to give hope and to help ease heartache.

Write on my heart, the words You sent from above;
they will know we are Christians, by the way that we love.

A breath of fresh. . . . "water"

funneled swirl my feet nailed six feet below, ray'd sun visioned a foot away, panicked hands stroke the air, feared eyes look four minutes ahead, tiny handfuls of air swallowed, ah the whirlpool's stopped, beautiful light, pleasured thought as i took my first watered breath, we became one within each other, a welcomed peace i've never felt, my second breath lighter than the first, on the third it spat me out as i floated to shore leaving that peace behind!

About this poem:
In the mountains of northern British Columbia a canoe trip that almost took me. july 15 1982. The peace i talk about is the transitional peace that i believe's not attainable until moments before you die.

Why do we fall?

Why do we fall?
To learn to get up,
To go on on our way
We started to go.
We must follow the light
Even the road is hard
We must escape by fear
Confrunting with it,
And beating it.

life is

life is for living
and giving, and taking
and crying or weeping.
and smiling or laughing,
and loving or leaving,
and breathing,
and hurting, and pain.
and wishing for rainbows in dark wintry skies.

but never to crawling,
ideally no yawning.
or begging for friendship, or pie in the sky.

it is what you make it,
so try and be happy,
go grab all your dreams
and give out your goodness
and watch the returns
and graces befall you.

and thank God for all the ingredients of life.

A foolish dog.

Even the slowest river eventually reaches the sea.
And the lowest point of the highest mountain is the ground.
But a foolish dog will never catch its tail,
And eventually tire from running around.

About this poem:
Sometimes it seems that we are trying so hard and making no progress. Sometimes it seems that things that we once so good just keep getting worse and worse.
Sometimes we need to think about where we a putting all our effort.

Internet..

Intrnet is a lottery,
To find your true love
On dating sites,
It needs a lot of luck
Because like in real
The world of internet is
Is full of scammers,
Liars,and maniacs,
Or casanova men,
But hey don't be sad,
Be optimistic,
Who knows ,tomorrow is another day
Maybe a better lucky day.

UTOPIA II

O God!
Why did you make the hands so slow
and the thoughts so swift?
How can these poor hands
capture the whole of it?
How can?
Why did you not
give hands to thoughts?
So that man might lie back in his sofa
and watch the hands of his thoughts,
recreate the Garden of Eden
while he relaxes and mellows below
in the miracle of Utopia.

About this poem:
This poem is a reflection of my thoughts about my life and indeed the life of most African people of talent. It is about the wonderful endowment in my life yet my inability to fully realize my immense potential. I wrote it because I was frustrated about my life at the time. (I doubt if that has changed) I know so much yet I earn so little, while in Africa. I desire to be able to change the fortunes of my country of Nigeria positively but I do not have the wherewithal to venture into politics. I think I know the solutions to the economic and social problems of Africa but I do not have the platform to effect the needed reforms or revolution. Then frustration sets it. If I did not write the poem, perhaps I would have liked it to rhyme and have a certain rhythm.

~Do You know why~

A reason, a season or a lifetime an why'd that person come to you! I learned the reason's, I've lived the season's! It's now up to me to be ready to find the lifetime!

About this poem:
Are you honestly ready too commit to that, or a continuing of your verbatim! The reason a season or a lifetime, is not mine in sequence as I've wrote:)
