Chasing after LOVE

Fill your days with love pursuits,
Let them saturate your thoughts.
Learn the languages of love, and share
That part of you that longs for it too.

Whether the chase be led by you or
Whether the chase be led to you,
Love must be pursued.
After you’ve found your love that’s true or
After they’ve found their love, that’s you,
Your life will feel renewed.

Don’t chase love away; you may not get
Another chance to have it in your life.
Learn to cherish those who brought in it,
A lover or a friend, a husband or a wife.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
So chase after love… unrestrained.
Let no one tell you that it can’t be found,
For its very presence makes joy abound.

I’m happiest when…

I’m happiest when…
I realize that you are real;
And though you know the care I feel
But cannot yet plainly reveal,
You still love me.

I’m happiest when…
There are no restraints on time;
All worry has gone from my mind,
And I have that ‘one-of-a-kind’
Experience.

I’m happiest when…
Nothing can dampen my mood;
Make me forget what is good
About what could, or should be
My Life.

I’m happiest when…
My hopes have been fulfilled,
And I feel as though I’ve lived
The day that was granted to me,
With purpose.

I’m happiest when...“all the stars align”. :-)

I HAVE A FRIEND (an original poem from a book of Inspiration that I published in 2016)

“A friend loves at all times.” (Proverbs 17:17)
“…But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” (Proverbs 18:24)

I lost my friend; piece of me died.
I lost a friend; I cried and cried.
But in the end I wondered if
He was a friend at all.

I lost my friend; I’m not sure why.
I lost a friend; it made me cry.
To save the friend ship I did try,
But she won’t even call.

I found a friend; and He found me.
I have a friend, and now I’m free
To have someone who cares for me;
Who answers when I call.

About this poem:
Some friendships are very valuable (for at least one of the parties involved),so when things go awry there may be a separation that causes distress.

Love Hates To Tell You

Tomorrow sends me to a stony ground,
Stoned today, but my voice echoes with sound,
Only to be recalled,
And you remember who I am, -
Love hates to tell you, -
Mr. Morrison said the West is the best,
He saw something like no one else,
From my many trips,
I know what he meant, -
Love hates to tell you, --

Long ago,
Life shattered, but we move on,
Being only a man,
Wine, women, and song, -
The writer's right!
But what have we won?
The dreamer's dream?
As we watch another fading sun, -

Today, another day, flying first class,
Placed in a limo
Fed high grade grass,
How much longer is this going to last? -
Love hates to tell you, -
Mr. Hendrix said the story of love is quicker than the wink of an eye,
So right,
But you refused to ask why?
Now, no time to compromise, -
Love hates to tell you, --

Long ago, no -
Let there be you and I,
Every day is worthy,
Yesterday, a cloud that has only passed us by, -
The writer right!
And we have won!
We make dreamers dream!
As we watch the fading sun!

My Sweetie Pie.

She glares at me with warm brown eyes;
Her posture, firm and unyielding.
I glance from my laptop to her face,
And she sighs, impatiently…still waiting.

I think I know what she wants;
But is it time? No, not yet.
I glance upward at my clock.
So what does she want me to get?

She changes her posture and lays down on the bed;
She rests a front paw on my wrist.
She’s annoyed with me now and makes a low growl,
In hopes that I’ll get the gist.

I’m not very good at reading dog signs,
So I have to guess at her need.
It’s either she’s bored and wants to play catch,
Or maybe it’s time for her feed.

How would I live without her in my life;
And how did I manage before?
She lights up my days and keeps me in tune,
She’s my life-saver for sure.

Few things I have with me can give my life joy,
Like the joy she inspires in me.
Sweetie’s well-named; she’s a ‘sweet-tempered’ soul,
And a gift that keeps giving sweetly.

About this poem:
My sister and ex-sister-in-law often say that my dog, Sweetie Pie, behaves much like a real person. They describe as being “a whole human”. She amazes us.

I LOOK INSIDE…

I look inside to find my soul,
To find the part that makes me whole,
To see what’s there that makes me feel,
To figure out what’s fake, what’s real.

I look outside and see his face.
It tells me of his sex and race,
I see the rest of him as well,
Without his soul, an empty shell.

I look inside to clear my mind
Of the turmoil that I find;
Each day a dreadful news event
Mars its slate and leaves me spent.

I look outside, and see the world;
The scenes before me that unfurl.
Finding peace there is in vain,
And so…I look inside again.

I look inside to find my SOUL,
It keeps me sane, it keeps me whole.
It doesn’t leave, it doesn’t go;
Not like he did so long ago.

I. Look. Inside.

The coming days

the coming days nothing to say learn to live through the illusion of delusion, instant reaction thoughts come true nothing to do nothing to do, opening pathwaves of sin nothing to begin nothing to begin. learn to live in wasted places, overgrown hedges revealing edges of sanity's known wandering through this all creeping sounds and voices all are a plenty I'm losing my identity,

wasted days nothing to say drive me away
drive me away. into the blindness of my mind always left behind, crafted axes shallow graves shining blades tied to caves, blood soaked memories clouded reality.
losing it all running backwards is this real enemies fallen shadows fade away into there own hallowed cave, given away

does this all have to be,
does this all have to be,

these memories are daunting stepping through the grim truth these are forever forever forever, dying together together together,

underneath underground it makes a sound
of pain behind the rain it comes out again to take me from within take me as a slave as a death that cannot be saved.

Spirits Beckon

Spirits beckon one more time,
Be merry and bless my - bourbon wine,
I can bleed though you can't see.
One more drink - that's all I need,-

Spirits beckon like shooting stars,
They were wondering where you are?,
You look weary - my dreary friend,
One more line - you will live again,-

Spirits beckon with reason and rhyme,
Is this a game played in your mind?,
Broken, cast outs - they are your friends,
And they are here to greet you,
At the end.-

Spirits beckon me one more time....

About this poem:
I wrote this 6-1-1998. A slow "dead" drumbeat with bass and easy guitar sound playing, except the solo part(s) I added to this song. But, no matter how good it may sound, you can always change it! lol

Never Trust Goblins

you can never, no never trust goblins
Don't be taken in by toothy grins
that would be just the start of your problems
their just imagining doing you in

No never stop and talk with gobins
even if you be very well bred
For a goblin is just a plotin
for a way to take off your head

Oh they may be polite to your faces
but behind your backs they will you curse
of all the underdark races
goblins are more likely to try steal your life along with yer purse

SHE

She -
Strong and Beautiful,
Intelligent and Wise,
Hardworking and Ambitious,
Faithful and Honest,
Fierce and Devoted.

She -
Protected her loved ones in battle,
Fought for what's right, til the end.
Showed hers the value of 'struggle',
Knew that Her God would defend.

She -
Hasn't left much wealth behind,
Except the investments that matter.
Built with her legacy in mind,
Five kids - three sons and two daughters.

And now... She. is. no. more.
