Yeah, to be safe(r), the typical USA homeowner will be buying homeowner insurance from Western Europe to be covered for any structural casualties at home during a conflict like that.

There would be a few survivors, the elite allocated a place in a nuclear bunker, and a few important Engineers and scientists.
Th working and lower middle classed are expendable (according to some theories).Boomers (upper class) would have a place cause they built them with specially placed rifle slits to kill any undesriables who try to gate crash.
American government is wetting itself because Russia has started an offensive in Syria, not because they support Assad, but because they may show up the ineffectiveness of the American military.
Obstinance_Works: The main goal, yes. It would be good business if they did become liberal-democratic societies. What conspiracy do you have for us, Maddog?
There's no need for conspiracy, Obstinance_Works. All you have to do is compare how different regimes are treated based on their allegiances and outlook. Bahrain is crying out for some good old democracy. You don't even hear anymore about their "Arab Spring". Qatar, UAE would be lovely with some democracy aswell. Not to mention Saudi Arabia. Nah. Democracy is not "good for business" if the democratic forces, in what are now Blue allies via Tyrants, would turn enemies at the ballot box via democracy.
Russia - China - Middle East are not allies. The Middle East are not allies. Maybe an Arabia - Pakistan - Indonesia - Balkan - North Africa alliance. could be an imaginable adversary.
Russia can not survive a war, Middle East can not survive a war, China is not interested in war.
Our NAVO warfare relies on technology. This is resource depended, mostly African resources. Africa is still a religious deathtrap. and islam is gaining ground here, the fanatical kind.
Want to stop a global doomsday war?, spread birth control and women education in Africa

Chinese are already doing that. They've only been a few years in Africa and are revolutionising the place. European's had been in Africa for a couple of centuries now with a different approach.

this is easy. The USA is shipping so many dollars to China and china doesn't value the dollar. So they buy other stuff with in dumb countries who then posses dollars.
Europe did great things in Africa. But Europe has lacked in education. However we weren't so progressive yet at that time. Anthropology was philosophy-based and not science-based.

It's not good for business for those states to be destabilised for any reason. I'm not stupid, Maddog. I know that we're selective when and where we attempt to introduce democracy, but nonetheless wherever we've tried the belief was that it would work. That they would freely elect a government favourable to us and create a business environment we want to work with. To not have believed this defeats the point of doing it.

Okay, in your own words, what is your opinion about what a war ,most wars, are all about???
Obstinance_Works: You're consciously misreading what I'm saying, aren't you?
I'm very aware of the cynical motives for when and where we choose to support a people having a free election. That's not the point I'm making. The point I'm making is that they were never going to vote the way we wanted them to. Believing that they would is the reason for acting on the cynical motives which have instead led us to ISIS.
I'm not misreading.
I understand that you're saying it was a Sociological miscalculation, to think that somehow the ballot box might work in the West's favour if and when it was brought in somewhere, anew.
MY best guess is that *some* decision makers might have though that. The rest of that more informed Guess, says that the powers that be had all the information they needed to understand exactly what would transpire at any ballot box.
They had it then, we have it now. We can read the cables.

I should have said western-democracy at the outset. At the end of the last century we had the collapse of the soviet union and China being brought into the fold(of sorts)and the momentum at the time made western people and politics feel that the world was for the taking.
Who knew what and when can be scrutinised and the conclusions they made debated. I'm generally inclined to view the world as a greedy or arrogant ballsup rather than a council of elders with the world in its palm. However, the illusion of a council of elders may develop from the collective actions of an industry or organisation wherein nearly all of its members think alike as though they were a hive. But here I am again, the sociologist.
Why do the so-called experts refuse to see clearly that China was forced to sign unfair treaties and ceded much territories to many western powers? At the time, China was very weak with little or no power to resist any invading forces. With changes to the world situation, Chinese leaders know that the only way to make sure that it will never face the same situations of the past is to arm itself. What is wrong with the desire to defend oneself, especially when the US is creating problems around the world?
Representative teams of Afghanistan, Cambodia, Fiji, Laos, Vanuatu and Venezuela are marching through.
Formations of troops from 11 countries, namely Belarus, Cuba, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Mongolia, Pakistan, Serbia, Tajikistan, and Russia are marching through
Russia allow China to expand its investments and political reach in the region. Although the two countries go about it in different ways, both Russia and China are interested in creating a global balance of power than does not revolve around the United States and Western Europe. What is harder to say with certainty is whether Beijing truly wants to team up with Moscow or is simply using Russia as a geopolitical sidekick and a source of commodities as needed.
Pakistan and Russia had signed a bilateral defence cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening military-to-military relations in November last year. The deal had to be followed by another ‘technical cooperation agreement’ to pave the way for sale of defence equipment to Pakistan.
Russian President Putin has approved the sale of between two and four S-400 air and missile defense systems to China.
Last May, the two countries settled a gas deal worth USD 400 billion under which Russia will supply China with 38 billion cubic metres of natural gas per year, for 30 years.
Pakistan and China on Thursday agreed to a multi-billion dollar deal that would see Beijing provide eight submarines to the Pakistan Navy
From what I have heard and read America is actively supporting terrorists in Syria, are they just dumb ? after all the failures do they suddenly think they can get an Islamic state in Syria to be all buddy buddy, and as bad as he might be the man in charge is one of the few who helps protect the Christians in Syria, so America wins ( impossible ) all the Christians will be slaughtered or driven out in another huge refugee mass exodus, thanks America, dictators or Islamic states,,
As we could listen to developements ,,, nobody could argue that Russia's aim in Syria was to protect Assad, bombed Assad's close oponents and not those ISIS,, ,,the whole world could take care and tremble with those terrorists but Russia will see to it that Assad stay in power,, no need for WW3 for that, to each and everyone to protect their interior security, and firearm market.

He is the only way to control what is happening, but America wants its own way again, yet another mistake in a long line of mistakes,

That's one way of planning on how to destroy others and and keep America in power, but minds/understanding develops, people are better informed now, and it's a good thing ,, AMERICA PROMISED HEAVENS SO THEY COULD GET THE EARTH.

It's just an extension of the supremacy fight/cold war between RUSSIA AND USA,, just that the manipulations are different and mingled with this global issue of terrorism, but between USA & RUSSIA,, the issue are not those terrorits,, they're playing their usual games not minding the humanity.

The Syrian Army made gains on the back of these Airtrikes in Aleppo. They found a long trail of dead bodies from US supported Terrorists in the towns they recovered.
