France.....one time important country....

elections for president today. Obama/Hilary affirmative action clone wall street type, versus patriotic lover of her people and secure borders. Plus cela change, plus c'est la meme chose, n'est pas? Aa.

Real illness, or.....personal choices...

there's the question. How can anyone be heartless enough to critcise someone with, say, muscular dystrophy, or a form of epilepsy, or one of the schixophrenias, or colon cancesr, with having some choice in becoming sick? Much less restrict health care help to them? But how about, say, obesity---or it's typical result---type 2 diabetes, or sun worship skin cancer, or lifelong disablity after a no helmet MC crash, or food and no exercise heart illness? These involve life style choices.
But moving on to so called addictive "diseases", are things really different? End stage alcohol induced liver cirrhosis, still drinking, refused for a transplant, and feel unfairly treated (not treated)? Surgery refused for cocaine induced nose deviation? Barometric surgery, if refuse lifestyle modifications?. Tons of examples to consider, here, no? . Molly codllers love to throw the term "disease" about for addictions, as many do words like racist and a variety of those ending with ---phobia, often with little scientific evidence, usually to assuage their self loathing liberal guilt. Takes all kinds, even such as me! ;-) Aa. .

Going over to Blue Hill (Falls), Maine. Google this idyllic coastal Maine location.

Free concert, in elderly residential home, by an all female A Cappella group. Not that cheap old curmudgeons savor free musical venues. "Ellacappella", all 10 members, ages from 20's to 78, have been performing here on the stunning Maine coast for years. For a listen, go to . But here's the real kicker for us tight wads. Local river runs to pristine ocean down some challenging rapids, used by kayakers, and on either shore are the best wild mussel beds I've ever seen. And I've been around. In ten minutes, at low tide, one has a 5 gallon bucket full. Fresh, sweet, free ---and almost no sand or pearls. Just tear off the beards, and steam the suckers up. Can you say Mussel Zuppa? Chowder? Or just eat far too many steamed up plain with a baguette, butter and Chardonnay. Fun 45 minute drive from here---about three hour direct route under sail, if the wind isn't on my nose. I'm grateful that it is still possible to eat for free, if one looks. But not like my younger yeras in beautiful rural central Pennsyltucky. Mushrooms, fishing, where to begin? Aa,

Not that the topic at all applies.....

to me. But on the Beeb there was a report of researchers that are finding that, among the many alleged disadvantages of short stature, both men and women earn less money in almost whatever they do. In the UK, they aver, as much as 60K pounds in a lifetime at work. Believe it? Aa.

What is it about bloggers who don't....

encourage, or indeed, even allow responses? Some thoughts are more charitable here than others. Of course, they might just not be interested in others' thoughts on a topic of their own choosing. Hopefully, this wouldn't be based on narcisstic feelings of superiority. Shame? Unlikely. Anger, unresolved, as in some of us, perhaps more possible. History of having been bullied---low self esteem- used to abuse based on their homeland ? Maybe. Even though I've been on the receiving end, deservedly so, of abuse here on occasion, I can't imagine not soliciting, let alone, prohibiting,
your responses. Your thoughts Aa..

Pope Francis visits Egypt....

He wants, againgst strong council otherwise. to travel in mostly personal unproteted fashion. Given the scene in Egypt these days, this is brave but of course has merit for many things. Ecumenical relations between both forms of Catholicism, generation of good will, pride among his flock, and so on, to list a few. But it's also a chance to see if radical Islamic hot heads can view his visit similarly, keeping his visit peacceful, and thereby show that they've really read and understood the majority of the Holy Khoran. We'll see. Aa.

She might just as well have called me.....

one of the hate words. You know, the ones liberals whip around, usually wrongly, at the drop of a hat. (The R word, and all those ending with----phobia.) Her talk was on opiate addicted moms and their innocent babies. Tall, lovely, British pediatrician, 50--ish, and well kept, with the recent onset of hair faiding in color, no wedding ring, and some cleavage going. Va-va-va-voom. Sadly, a molly codling ueber liberal presentation, and not exactly Cockney diction,--- annoyingly so. Some may know. Actually, many reasonable points on how best to work with these females/families. So, behaving as I often do here, I asked a question, after she over kept the group by some 15 minutes. "Just two brief points, and a suggestion. These females are often part of family multigenerational teen pregnancy, and all the good work you do with them must build up a good deal of trust. Maybe it would be helpful, to really prevent more of these poor convulsing, opiate soaked babies, to reach out to thesee mothers, and perhaps even other ladies in the family, as health educators , on RESPONSIBLE CONTRACEPTION". Her response, "Well, I wouldn't at all want to discourage anyone from being a mom", Of course, that wasn't the point, but liberals, gotta love 'em. They can't help it. Aa.

We all know them.....

Decent, hardworking, friendly, polite, pious, charitable, helpful, family/community oriented.... Muslim people. ... It's all I've ever met. But I don't live near the other types. Just what is it that sets the young hot heads off in the nutso terrorist directions? Just reading the Book in a different way? Religious leaders? Teachers and schools? Seething anger over the current state of Islam after centuries of world class culture? Youth influences? Poverty? Lack of jobs/hopes for the future? Corrupt governments/leaders? Or other things? Damned if I know. Aa.

Arkansas.....

Texas....and a few dozen other states. When a dog is rabid, all states and territories put them "to sleep". As with many of these largely beyond treatable human convicted murderers, drugs (coctails) are preferred. Liberals are making a fuss over the alleged "pain and suffering" these killers experience on the final gurney. Of course, compared to the suffering they caused their victims, and to the gas chamber, noose and electric chair, these objections are really below laughable. Six rifles, five cartidges. next topic, folks. Or two in the hat, as in many other enlightened (or otherwise) places. And it shouldn't take two decades, and cost tax payers millions, while victims families await justice in (difficult to treat) pain and grief. Aa.

Vive la France....

Got that same tingle down the leg when, in those early hours last November, the liberal media talking heads, incredulous all, were nearly tearful over Witch Clinton's call to the Donald, conceeding victory to his excellency. On the tails of same named President, Madame Marie L. is now in the runoffs. In a statistical heat with the 39 YO Obama equivalent, she stands a good chance to be the first female president of the Republic. You think Mr.Trump and crew are rounding up and booting out criminal illegal aliens? Just stay tuned. Aa.

Twin Girls' first home....

from university summer jobs start soon. First real jobs. Check out at our food cooperative. Pretty cushy gigs, if one can find them. I began work for pay to help family budget at around age ten, Saturdays, in season, veggie picking on local Azorean Portuguese farmers' truck farms, 35 cents US for a ful basket of greeen beans, but it migh tave been 50. All the stale bubble wrapped pastries on the truck we could eat, to and from the job. Free expired date food for the pigs. And a paper route soon there after. Are times diffrent for our kids, at least in paradise countries? Memoir fodder, all. Aa.
