Nunes Finds Loophole Clause That Allows GOP To Call Witnesses

Rep. Devin Nunes of California and other Republicans may get to call their witnesses in the House impeachment inquiry after all, thanks to a clause cited in a letter signed by nine GOP representatives.

The Thursday letter appears to exploit a loophole in an attempt to bring forward witnesses denied by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff.

The California Democrat previously denied many of Republicans’ witness requests, a power he was granted after a rule change earlier in the month.

According to Nunes’ letter, the newfound clause is “not displaced” by the rule change.

Among other witnesses, the congressman attempted to call the whistleblower and Schiff himself to testify in the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump.

“Although Speaker Pelosi promised that Democrats would ‘treat the President with fairness,'” Nunes wrote, “you have repeatedly prevented Republicans from fully and fairly examining issues central to the Democrat’s ‘impeachment inquiry.’

“Therefore, pursuant to House Rule XI, Clause 2(j)(1), we, the undersigned Republican Members of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, exercise our right to convene a hearing with witnesses selected by the Minority to testify in the Democrats’ ‘impeachment inquiry.'”

To wade through the mountain of text that is the House rulebook and find these small clauses absolutely takes an eagle eye.

According to an official copy of the Rules of the House of Representatives, it looks like Nunes is onto something here.

“Whenever a hearing is conducted by a committee on a measure or matter,” House Rule XI, Clause 2(j)(1) states, “the minority members of the committee shall be entitled, upon request to the chair by a majority of them before the completion of the hearing, to call witnesses selected by the minority to testify with respect to that measure or matter during at least one day of hearing thereon.”

If Nunes and his Republican colleagues are right in their gamble, this could mean they get to call their witnesses.

Considering all the damning evidence that seemingly undermines the whistleblower’s report, this could be a move that totally eviscerates the impeachment inquiry against Trump.

Imagine Adam Schiff, called as a witness in a public hearing before the entire nation, answering questions about his involvement with the whistleblower.

Neighbors Spot Car Driving Around in Circles for an Hour with Dog at Wheel

Neighbors in South Florida watched in disbelief as a car seemingly drove itself in circles in a cul-de-sac for nearly an hour on Thursday morning.

When authorities arrived on the scene, they learned that something was occupying the driver seat.

The truth, however, is almost as unbelievable as the initial theory.

Anne Sabol, a resident of the Port St. Lucie, Florida, neighborhood, told WPBF that when she walked outside that morning she saw the car, but thought it was just one of her neighbors backing up.

“First I thought I saw somebody backing up but then they kept going and I’m like, ‘OK, what are they doing?'” she said.

When the cops came, Sabol was even more confused.

The video of the strange incident reveals that the car had not a human driver, but a canine one.

It’s no secret that some dogs love car rides, but this odd incident brings new meaning to that stereotype.

Amazingly, the pup’s joy ride didn’t cause too much damage — a mailbox was the only real casualty.

Both the Port St. Lucie Police Department and the St. Lucie County Fire District arrived on the scene to help stop the car.

Responders were able to end the dog’s wild ride before any more property damage occurred, but neighbors were still amazed at the scene.

“When the cops got the door open a black dog jumped out I was like, ‘They should give that thing a license,'” Sabol said.

Police said the human driver had stepped out of the car with the engine still running before the dog, named Max, accidentally knocked the vehicle into reverse.

According to WPBF, the human driver offered to replace the mailbox that was knocked over during the event.

The dog was not injured.

“He was a better driver than a lot of them I’ve seen,” Sabol told WPTV-TV. “I saw the dog jump out of the car, wagging his tail, and I was like ‘OK, good driving!'”

Rep. Stefanik Completely Humiliates Rep. Schiff

Rep. Stefanik Makes Schiff Squirm, Exposes His Hypocrisy on Whistleblower.

Trump Declares: ‘I Want A Trial’

On Friday, speaking by phone with the hosts of Fox & Friends, President Trump said bluntly, “I want a trial.”

As Mediaite reported, Trump segued into his statement after lauding the performance of Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York during the impeachment hearings. He said, “She has become a star. Her mannerism; her way of talking. It just works. She’s a tremendous person; she was fantastic during the hearings. Turner, so many people that were so great.”

Trump then turned to Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), who has been leading the attack against him: “You know what? The bottom line is all of those witnesses, they’re all shifty Schiff’s. Don’t forget there was no due process. You can’t have lawyers. We couldn’t have any witnesses. We want to call the whistleblower. But you know who I want as the first witness? ’Cause frankly, I want a trial. You know, I think– I could have it —”

Host Brian Kilmeade: You want a trial?

Trump: Oh, I would! Look, number one, they should never, ever impeach. I watched, I watched five people on your network yesterday say there’s nothing here. Andy McCarthy, how about Ken, special prosecutor —

Kilmeade: Ken Starr.

Trump: Special counsel. Ken Starr, he was fantastic, he said there’s nothing here. So ready? Number one, there should never be an impeachment. This is not an impeachment. That phone call was totally appropriate. Totally. But assuming these people are sleazy as they are, and Nancy Pelosi is totally incompetent; she’s lost, absolutely lost. She doesn’t know what she’s doing. She hasn’t done anything; she can’t get anything approved. Everybody’s working on this and they just got blown away, because they put their witnesses up, and we’re not gonna get USMCA … (crosstalk)

Host Steve Doocy interjected: So you want a trial?

Trump : … gonna vote against Democrats like you’ve never seen before. But if they do put it up, because they’re crazy, Adam Schiff is a nutjob. Listen to this: Adam Schiff gets up before Congress and he made up my statement. Who made that statement? He made that up. And then after he got caught, three days later he started saying “parody.”

Trump addressed Kilmeade: The thing that I did that was right, Brian, the thing that I did that was right, I released the transcript of the call immediately. Had I not done that, I would have had a big problem. A big problem. Because they all lied about my call. My call was perfect. If you heard Adam Schiff’s version of my call, I mean, it was the worst thing I ever heard. I said, “How could that be possible?” And you know the sad part was that he made it in the halls of Congress; he has immunity. I can’t sue him; the Republican Party can’t sue him.

Trump then compared the unity of the Democratic Party to the heretofore splintered nature of the GOP:

And one other thing before we get off: the Republican Party has never been more unified. Both the Senate and the House, Mitch (McConnell), Lindsey (Graham), I could name twenty names up there, they have never had, look, we won. There are 196 to nothing. That never happens. I always say, “The Democrats are lousy politicians; they have lousy policies, but they stick together and they’re vicious.” They’re more vicious, frankly. But the Republicans, they have a tendency; they break up.

Impeachment Inquiry Canceled After 5 Episodes Due To Low Ratings

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The exciting new TV show Impeachment Inquiry was poised to take the ratings by storm, promising to eclipse all the other shows in its time slot. But the show will be canceled after one season, like a lot of bad TV shows and also Firefly.

After just five rocky episodes that failed to deliver any major plot twists, producers pulled the plug on the impeachment inquiry due to lack of viewers.

"The showrunners promised all these big bombshells, shocking twists, and startling revelations, but they weren't able to deliver," said one reviewer writing in Hollywood Reporter. "When there are so many better options out there---rewatching The Office, checking out The Good Place, staring at paint as it slowly dries---why would people tune into this tepid, uninspired mess?"

22% of Americans said they were disappointed with the show so far, while 78% said, "Impeachment hearings are going on?"

At publishing time, sources had confirmed that J.J. Abrams had been in charge of writing the plot and simply forgot to tie up all the loose ends.

Trump Offers to Help Mexico ‘Wage War on the Drug Cartels,’ ‘Wipe Them Off the Face of the Earth’

'You need an army to defeat an army': President Trump wages WAR on Mexican drug cartels to 'wipeout monsters' after three American Mormon mothers and six of their children are EXECUTED and their bodies left in burned out SUVs

At least nine U.S. citizens, including six children, who live in the Mexican border state of Sonora were killed in a shooting attack Monday
Rhonita Maria LeBaron, died along with her 6-month-old twins and her two other children, aged 10 and 12
Christina Langford Johnson, Dawna Langford and two of Dawna's children, aged 11 and three, were also killed
The victims belong to the LeBaron family - a breakaway Mormon community that settled in the hills of northern Mexico decades ago
At the time of the attack, 17 of the family members were traveling in three cars from the settlement
According to relatives, drug cartel gunman opened fire and torched vehicles as the victims burned to death
Mexico's top security official Alfonso Durazo said on Tuesday cartel gunmen may have mistaken the group's large SUVs for rival gangs
Nine of the family members were slaughtered in the massacre and one child was still missing
Six children were wounded in the attack and five have since been transferred to hospitals in Phoenix, Arizona

President Donald Trump has waged a war on Mexican drug cartels after three American mothers and six children from a Mormon community based in northern Mexico were massacred by cartel gunmen.

The victims, who belonged to the LeBaron family, were ambushed about eight miles apart in the Mexican border state of Sonora on Monday while traveling in a convoy of three SUVs.

At the time of the attack, 17 of the family members were traveling from the La Mora religious community where they live, which is a decades-old settlement in Sonora state founded as part of an offshoot of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Many of the church's members were born in Mexico and thus have dual citizenship.

Mexico's top security official Alfonso Durazo blamed cartel gunmen on Tuesday for the attack and said they may have mistaken the group's large SUVs for rival gangs.

Nine of the LeBaron family members, who have ties to Utah, were slaughtered in the massacre and one child was still missing, Mexican authorities said. Six children were wounded in the attack and five have since been transferred to hospitals in Phoenix, Arizona.

The slaughter of U.S. citizens on Mexican soil quickly became an international issue with Trump on Tuesday vowing to help Mexico wage a war on its drug cartels. He said in a series of tweets that the LeBaron family had gotten caught up between 'two vicious drug cartels'. Mexican officials have not confirmed if this was the case.

'If Mexico needs or requests help in cleaning out these monsters, the United States stands ready, willing & able to get involved and do the job quickly and effectively,' Trump tweeted. 'The great new President of Mexico has made this a big issue, but the cartels have become so large and powerful that you sometimes need an army to defeat an army!

'This is the time for Mexico, with the help of the United States, to wage WAR on the drug cartels and wipe them off the face of the earth. We merely await a call from your great new president!'

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador responded to Trump's tweet, saying 'war is the worst thing that can happen' and said he doesn't believe lethal force would solve them problem.

'We declared war, and it didn't work,' Lopez Obrador said at a press conference, referring to the policies of previous administrations.'That is not an option.'

Greta Thunberg Mural Equipped With Laser Eyes That Shoot At SUVs

SAN FRANCISCO, CA—A new mural in downtown San Francisco of Swedish teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg has a surprise for passersby: her eyes are equipped with high-powered lasers designed to seek and destroy carbon-emitting SUVs on the streets below.

“We want the mural to really make a positive impact in the fight against climate change,” a spokesperson told sources. “Greta’s pouty glare is certain to generate guilt and shame in many motorists, but that didn’t seem like enough. By adding the lasers, we can begin taking out the worst offenders in their Hummers and Land Rovers.”

When the lasers were first activated, they immediately targeted the carbon-emitting hydraulic cranes and aerosol paint sprayers used to create the mural. The glitch has since been fixed.

Sources confirm the lasers will be suspended when Al Gore and other climate activist celebrities visit San Francisco and drive through town with their fleet of Suburbans and Escalades.

Is Pelosi finally sick of the terrible damage Schiff is doing to her party?

This week, Rep. Jim Jordan was officially moved to the House Intelligence committee, from Oversight, in order to be part of the coming public interrogations of witnesses summoned by committee Chairman Adam Schiff.

Jordan is a pit bull, exactly what the committee needs among its Republicans. It was in Pelosi's purview to refuse Jordan's appointment and she did not.

Hmmm. Is it possible that even she is sick and tired of Schiff's mendacity, his secrecy, his shutout of Republican questions, his witness tampering? He even advised "witnesses" to not answer questions from Republicans.

Most of these people being called to testify are not witnesses to anything relevant; they are just vague anti-Trumpers willing to prostitute themselves in one way or another before Schiff's cloak-and-dagger, repressive little show trial that, as many have commented, is reminiscent of the tactics of the former Soviet Union.

His campaign to impeach the president, in this shoddy manner, denying Trump any due process, is so transparently unconstitutional it boggles the mind. Who does he think he is fooling? The question is why? Why are the rest of the Democrats not standing up and shouting: "Emperor Schiff has no clothes?" Why on earth are they allowing this dishonorable, deceitful man to drag them all into the gutter of vicious anti-American politics? His tactics are sullying them all.

Most likely it is all part of the cover-up. We know now that the entirety of the Mueller "investigation" was not an investigation at all but a massive undertaking to conceal the zealous plan by a group of Hillary Clinton and Obama administration insiders to destroy Donald Trump.

Perhaps Pelosi already knows what is coming and may just want the counterblast to fall on Schiff. But she cannot escape her role in the most consequential political scandal in U.S. history. She, and the rest of the impeach crowd, would have been wise to remember Robert Kennedy's observation that "What is objectionable, what is dangerous, about extremists is not that they are extreme, but that they are intolerant. The evil is not what they say about their cause but what they say about their opponents."
