The Trump administration is succeeding in its efforts to destabilize the regime in Tehran. For Obama officials to actively undermine those efforts is disgraceful.

The secretary of state also added that in the wake of Iran’s aggression in the Persian Gulf, the Trump administration has taken a number of steps to increase deterrence in the region.

“We have increased activity in the Strait of Hormuz. We have announced forced posture changes in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. There are a handful of things that we have done that I know the Iranians understand have increased risks should they decide that they want to act out again and put American lives, American assets or those of our friends and partners in the region at risk.”

Unfortunately, our deterrence posture is not working as well as our sanctions. The Iranians are getting away with increasingly bold attacks on the U.S. and its interests.

First, they attacked Japanese and Norwegian oil tankers; then, they shot down an unmanned U.S. drone; then they attacked Saudi oil facilities; then attacked a U.S. military base and killing a U.S. citizen and injuring four American service members; and now they have escalated again, deploying a mob to overrun our embassy in Baghdad, which is sovereign U.S. territory. The U.S. needs to impose serious costs on Iran for those actions, or they will continue to escalate.

Asked if other regimes under sanction might also wait out the 2020 elections to see if Trump loses, Pompeo said “this issue that you described is pretty acute with respect to the counter-Iran campaign because the previous administration and in fact many Democrats have a radically different vision of how we ought to treat Iran. It's not the case in many other places.”

In a wide-ranging interview, Pompeo also discussed the administration’s national security priorities for 2020 including North Korea, China, Syria, Afghanistan and what he considers the number one foreign policy accomplishment for which President Trump does not get sufficient credit. Years from now.......

Years from now, when we look back, nobody’s going to remember Nancy’s cheap theatrics, like wearing a black dress while claiming the moment to be somber as she announced the impeachment of the President of the United States, or using gold tipped and autographed pens delivered on a silver platter spending $100,000 in taxpayer money for those golden pens she stole from the government and gave away as souvenirs to sign over to the Senate the articles of impeachment, they will remember though how President Trump brought the Chinese to the bargaining table and delivered achievements few ever thought were possible.
They will remember that Trump continued to lead even though they unfairly tried to take him and the U.S out !

President Trump’s Approval Hits a New High as Senate Trial Begins

On Thursday – the day after Democrats delivered impeachment articles to the Senate – Donald Trump’s Presidential Approval Index rating turned positive for the first time in nine months, Rasmussen Reports’ Daily Presidential Tracking Poll results show.

Overall, Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters either “somewhat” or “strongly” approve of President Trump’s job performance, while 47% somewhat or strongly disapprove.

Not since December 5, 2019 – the day House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced Democrats would formally proceed with impeachment – have so few voters disapproved of Trump’s performance. As CNSNews.com reported at the time, Trump’s approval spiked to 52% and disapproval fell to 47%.

President Donald Trump has expressed that he wants a “swift” impeachment trial, but given the effects it has been having this far he ought not to.

Santa Claus Accused Of Quid Pro Quo For Giving Children Gifts In Exchange For Good Behavior

U.S.—Legislators have begun to hold hearings on impeaching Santa Claus after an overheard conversation seemed to imply he was offering a quid pro quo: gifts in exchange for good behavior.

FBI agents spied on Claus at various malls as he repeatedly said things like, "Sure, I'll get you a pony. But first, I need you to do something for me... be a good little boy!" The FBI was able to obtain a FISA warrant to spy on Claus, because it's easier to get a FISA warrant than to get a Costco membership.

"Ho ho noooooo!" Santa Claus cried as investigators leaped out and cuffed him at a Dayton, OH mall. "Not good! Sad!"

"It was a perfect conversation," Claus said, defending himself in a series of fiery tweets. "Absolutely perfect. I was simply talking to little Billy and asked him to keep tabs on his sister, Sally, who has been involved in some corruption. Who doesn't want to stop corruption? Did I offer Billy a new Nintendo Switch in exchange for his good behavior? Possibly. Am I planning on giving Sally coal because she's a little punk? Maybe. Where's my lawyer?"

Unfortunately, he was assigned a public defender, who turned out to be Rudy Giuliani.

McConnell Sends Pelosi Shirt Reading 'I Impeached The President And All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Mitch McConnell felt bad for Nancy Pelosi after watching her get forced to impeach the president by the radical wing of her party, then impeach him and sit on the articles of impeachment for weeks. So, he decided to cheer her up a bit.

McConnell had his staffers deliver Pelosi a shirt reading "I Impeached The President And All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt." Pelosi did not seem to understand the nice gift, pointing her finger sternly and lecturing the McConnell staffer: "Don't mess with me." Though her dentures fell out before she could finish her rant, sadly.

"It's the least I could do," McConnell said, a grin slowly spreading across his face. "I feel bad for the poor girl -- so much work on impeachment for nothing. Everyone needs a little consolation prize, a little affirmation. A participation trophy, you might say."

As an offended Pelosi held a press conference condemning the shirt as a "slap in the face," Mitch McConnell hurriedly confirmed hundreds more conservative judges.

Einstein's Riddle

There are five houses in five different colors in a row. In each house lives a person with a different nationality. The five owners drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar and keep a certain pet. No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar, or drink the same beverage. Other facts:

1. The Brit lives in the red house.
2. The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
3. The Dane drinks tea.
4. The green house is on the immediate left of the white house.
5. The green house's owner drinks coffee.
6. The owner who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
7. The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill.
8. The owner living in the center house drinks milk.
9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
10. The owner who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats.
11. The owner who keeps the horse lives next to the one who smokes Dunhill.
12. The owner who smokes Bluemasters drinks beer.
13. The German smokes Prince.
14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
15. The owner who smokes Blends lives next to the one who drinks water.

The question is: who owns the fish?

Source for this will be provided when riddle is solved.

Trump Unbound

One major point is being overlooked concerning the “impeachment”: now that the impeachment weapon has been unsheathed, and swung, and shattered into myriad pieces without so much as scratching its target, the Dems have absolutely nothing to use against Trump. In fact, it can be doubted that they will ever again have anything to use against Trump.

Impeachment is over – Pelosi admitted as much when she issued her pro forma State of the Nation invitation to the President only days after the impeachment vote. She has still failed to present the articles to the Senate, but it’s all anticlimax at this point. Only a few hysterics on either side of the spectrum have any doubt as to how this is going to work out.

So what do they come up with next? Well, nothing much.

They hit him with an attempt to subvert electors, with the Mueller investigation, with the emoluments clause, with the 25th Amendment, and then with impeachment. And all of it simply bounced off.

They can caper, shout as loud as they want, call up all the demons there are, but they can’t get at him.

For the first time since Eisenhower, a Republican president faces his second term with nothing at all blocking his road.

For Donald Trump, the road is wide open. There are no lurking scandals. All the questions have been answered. His enemies have launched their warheads only to see them bounce off.

The wall needs to be finished. Here too, the opposition has run out of ammo.

Crippling the sanctuary movement is yet another imperative.

There’s unfinished business as regards the destruction of the Swamp.

Beyond even this are things we don’t even know about. Donald Trump is a man of surprises (as Qassem Soleimani learned). I have no doubt that he has moves in mind that nobody yet knows about – or would even be able to guess.

One thing for sure: Donald Trump’s second term is on line to be as ground-breaking, monumental, and successful as his first.

Neil Peart, Drummer and Lyricist of Rush, Dead at 67

Neil Peart, the drummer and lyricist of progressive rock band Rush, has died, CBC News and Rolling Stone report. According to the reports, Peart died on January 7 in Santa Monica, California after a years-long battle with brain cancer. He was 67 years old.

Renowned for his technical expertise and unique performance style, Neil Peart was considered by many to be one of the best rock drummers of all time. He retired from professional drumming, and Rush, in 2015. Find a statement from bandmates Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson below.

Born in 1952, Neil Peart picked up the drums at an early age and played in several bands in his native Ontario before joining Rush in 1974, shortly ahead of the group’s first-ever U.S. tour. Peart replaced founding drummer John Rutsey and would remain in Rush for the rest of his professional career, recording on every one of their studio albums save for their debut self-titled LP. Peart picked up lyricist duties beginning with the band’s second album Fly by Night in 1975.

Peart quickly gained notoriety for his powerful rock drumming. As Rush continued to record albums and expand their sound over the decades, his drumming style continued to shift as well, incorporating more percussion elements and early sample-triggering into his performances. He reached a breakthrough in the mid-1990s when he sought instruction from jazz drummer Freddie Gruber. “After 40, 45 years of playing, I wanted to push myself and open up this whole new frontier,” Peart said in 2017. “I’ve been able to do that as a lyricist and as a prose writer, and now as a drummer. You have to challenge your own limitations and your own expectations of yourself.”

In 1997, Peart experienced tragedy with the death of his daughter Selena Taylor in a car accident. Less than a year later, his wife Jacqueline died following a battle with cancer. These deaths resulted in Peart taking time off from the band, during which he traveled North America via motorcycle to grieve, before returning in 2002 for Rush’s 17th studio album Vapor Trails. He later documented that trip in his book Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road.

In December 2015, Peart announced his retirement from drum performance, and Rush, in an interview with Drumhead Magazine. During the interview, he told a story about his daughter Olivia. “Lately Olivia has been introducing me to new friends at school as, ‘My dad—He's a retired drummer,’” he quipped. “True to say—funny to hear. And it does not pain me to realize that, like all athletes, there comes a time to... take yourself out of the game.”

Humoring a Demon: Top six ways Democrats coddled Soleimani

If you want to know why Democrats are so hell-bent on condemning President Trump's wipe-out of Iran's Number Two, Qassem Soleimani, maybe a look at their record with this guy can tell some of the story.

This demon (as Mancow so flawlessly characterized him) was a powerful guy in hellhole Iran, and he extended his brutality well beyond Iran's borders. He was responsible for the killings of hundreds of Americans in Iraq and beyond. He amassed his power because under the Obama administration, favors were done in a way that enabled him to rise as Iran's Quds Force commander, racking up victory after victory at our expense. Democrats helped him a lot in his revolting journey, dating from the genesis of the Ben Rhodes–Barack Obama Iran deal.

Here's a list of the top six things the Democrats did to enable him to get as powerful and depraved in his activity as he did:

6. Travel: This guy was under U.S. and U.N. sanctions, and nominally forbidden to travel anywhere, yet he traveled anywhere he wanted to go with abandon. Flying commercial, he used planes full of unwitting people he was onboard with as human shields to deter rocket attacks, but he still had no trouble getting onboard. And according to the Washington Post, that was useful, indeed:

Such travel, however, has been a mainstay of Soleimani's work for decades as the leader of Iran's Quds Force, a special squad focused on overseas operations, among other intelligence missions, as part of the elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Sanctions were nonsense, U.N. or U.S., because with Democrats in power, nobody was stopping him. He got used to the routine before President Trump got finished with him.

5. Impunity. As American Thinker contributor Dan Sobieski notes today, Soleimani attempted to bomb Washington and its elites in a plot to murder the Saudi ambassador in Washington in 2011. The idea was to blow up a restaurant full of people. Sobieski writes:

Think about this for a moment. Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State, Eric Holder was attorney general, and Robert Mueller was FBI director when Iranian general and Quds Force commander Soleimani oversaw the planning of a terrorist attack on American soil that could have killed hundreds of Americans including some of the Washington elites.

No consequences whatsoever to him — the Democrats were so hell-bent on ensuring that the Iran deal went through that the little issue of him trying to kill us went without notice. And it was hardly his only attempt to kill Americans.

4. Free cities: As American Thinker columnist Clarice Feldman noted Sunday, the Obama administration allowed Soleimani to take Tikrit in 2015. Citing an article by Lee Smith, here are the deets:

Obama made his preference for Iran and its allies clear — in Lebanon, Syria, and most obviously in Iraq where the White House ordered air strikes on ISIS positions that allowed various Iranian-backed outfits, under the leadership of Qassem Suleimani, to take Tikrit.
