"Words are wind. "Bigly"-The Art of the Deal

Merry Christmas ! cheers
Trump got Mexico to pay for the wall

Trump got China to pay for the wall---

Who’s winning the trade war? Everyone but Trump.

"prison isn't prison" !
Thanks B. That Politico article really points out, how Trump has caused irreparable damage to the US
trade to China, who is investing in other sources, to defeat the dumb tariff war.
We will likely never recover from it.
"Trade wars are easy to win" - Trump

"Hey Donald, you know what? You were right! Trade wars are easy to win." Xi Jinping

Ding ding! We've got a winner.

China Trade Surplus Largest in 11 Months

China's trade surplus widened to USD 44.74 billion in November of 2018 from USD 38.43 billion in the same month a year earlier and easily beating market consensus of USD 34 billion. It was the largest trade surplus since December 2017, as exports rose at a faster 5.4 percent year-on-year while imports went up by 3.0 percent

U.S. trade deficit hits 10-year high in October
Oh, and great news about that sudden spike in the market...
(turns head and speaks to someone... it wasn't a spike?)

Sorry.. that wasn't a spike in the market.
B - the problems are multiple. Trump not only doesn't know what the heck he is doing, but he won't accept the advice of people who know more than him, which is most people. He's a complete idiot !
A special XMas message from 'Melania'.

snowman
Laura Benanti (Late Show Melania) should be The Don's greatest supporter.
Job security, you understand.

She NAILS it.
The 1st time I saw her do Melania I watched for awhile and couldn't be sure it wasn't Melania!
Nice work if you can get it!
laugh

cowboy
M - Lawyers, comedians and fact checkers are the three occupations that have boomed during the Trump administration.
Despite the constant negative press covfefe.. laugh

What the Trump cult hasn't woke up to is that the man that over his lifetime benefited so greatly from a broken system at their expense now promises he and only he can fix that system for their benefit. Two years into the Trump presidency his promises have shown to be nothing but GREAT lies and cons.. sad

Uknow your trolling is lame.. hmmm
B - Excellent videos, all 3 of them. thumbs up thumbs up thumbs up
I knew Trump had a lot of broken promises, but there was a few in that first video, that I learned about.
Thanks.
Is this a north American thing since we have a trade agreement?......laugh
M - Yes, Trump gets to brag about how he's the greatest con man in US presidential history
and the president of Mexico gets to call him an idiot. Odds are, at least one of them is right. laugh
I doubt the very smart people have ever heard of market displacement , even then grain production has set records , far too big for the super bright to understand .
Yeah, November 2018 was THE first month in decades that China bought NO soybeans from the US at all.
Our farmers have been displaced out of that market by Brazil and other countries thanks to Trump's tariff war.
with the most populated country. I'm not so sure 2019, 2020, and beyond are going to be good years.
displacement for a commodity means the US grain will go where Brazil's was going . End of story .
the point I have been trying to make , there won't be a loss , China has to feed pigs ,it makes no difference to soy consumption , there is only one market for this sort of commodity , the world market . If China suddenly stopped feeding its pigs soy , then there would be a problem , riots in China . They have not been doing the US a special favor by buying US grain , its because the US is a reliable supplier . In any event it will be another record year of production , just so happens its under Trump .
No one here is taking China's side. We are only commenting on the reality, that Trump has permanently made things much worse. Anyone who voted for him, is partly to blame. Anyone who did just a little bit of research knew that he was dishonest and having absolutely no public service experience whatsoever. He is unqualified to be a mayor of a small town, let alone the most powerful position in the world. Most people with even average intelligence, realized this long before the election.
No president is an expert on all the issues they have to deal with. That's why they rely on the advice of their expert advisers. Some problems are so great they can't be fixed without some pain during the process. Trump at least has the courage to try and tackle the problem which is more than you can say about his predecessor.

So if you really want to blame somebody for the policies blame this guy: Dr. Peter Navarro. And if you would have bothered to read the article you would have already know that.
If china does not get its trade in balance with the US it won't be trading with it . The US has allies on side with this , being as smart as you think you are you should know . Your anti Trump bulldust has blinded you . Do you think Brazil can instantly replace soy that the US produces ? Brazil understands why china has shown interest in their soy and just as liable to drop them . Japan did this to us with squash , many farms had to back ten of thousands worth of machinery into sheds because of the loss of market only to have Japans new friend ,Mexico decend into political chaos with Japan casting around for reliable supply again . In any event if and when Brazil can supply volume , that land will be taken out of other production , hopefully beef , can't come soon enough.

Another market that we were told that would affect us badly was the lamb market in the UK post Brixit vote , by people with no idea , well we are getting over $8 per kilo for lamb currently , a record by close to $ 2 depending on grade .

Tell us more about trade , I need a larf .
Its you that is so stupid , not Trump . Tell us how badly the US coal industry is doing under Trump .
"Instantly" ? No. Eventually, yes. You think in too few dimensions. Try including time, as one of those dimensions.
Markets are dynamic, not fixed.
You have no idea Jim .
interesting to read
"Inside China's strategy in the soybean trade war"

Facts: (math is easy)
Soyben world production- 336.7m tons.
China consumption 110 - 113.
China produces 14.5m
China needs to import 95-97 mtons of soybeans.
Largest producers: Brazil at 119.5, United States at 119.5, Argentina 37m, China at 14.2, Paraguay at 10.

regarding export to other markets like EU for example, (Tump bragged the EU was going to buy US soybeans, same day Junker said that was incorrect and the market is smaller - China imports 10x of what EU imports). China takes +-60% of all traded soy. There are no other "customers" to absorb the loss of the Chinese market. Almost two-thirds of US soybean exports go to China,

US other soybean markets.

Brazil sold 50million tonnes to China in 2017 . USA sold 32million. Brazil doubled its soybean sales to china since 2012

Price history

Purdue University estimated that a Chinese tariff on US soybeans could mean economic losses of between $1.7 billion and $3.3 billion a year. US farm incomes are projected to drop this year to the lowest level since 2002 and soybean prices are down.

regarding the article from U.S. GRAINS COUNCIL, "U.S. exports of grain in all forms (GIAF) are on track to set a new record in 2017/2018" you can find the original here.

Btw - Soybeans powered third-quarter growth in the US. Soybean was top agricultural export, at $21.6 billion in 2017. Corn was in second place at $9.1b.

Now, let's all eat tofu.
The damage Trump has done to the soybean farmers will not be felt as much this year.
But, it is going to hit hard in 2019 and subsequent years.
The idiot-in-chief strikes again !
Rex Tillerson was correct. Trump is a moron.
Yeah Jim, they can pay us now and worry about the wall later. As if either one will happen.
rolling on the floor laughing
AGAIN, this isn't about what happens this year.

oh , so its some time in the future is it . What a larf , bit like your impeachment .

No grower worth his salt will plant a crop without a contract and banks don't like lending for seasonal finance unless they do . Of course you know all this aye . Spec growers take a risk , gamblers every one and can make a killing , gambling on soy would be a punt too much for most .
Lets see how many soy contracts they get from China in the next 5 years.
Thanks for posting that B. It explains things very well. thumbs up
I hope others now fully understand.
