Merry Christmas !
Who’s winning the trade war? Everyone but Trump.
"prison isn't prison" !
trade to China, who is investing in other sources, to defeat the dumb tariff war.
We will likely never recover from it.
"Hey Donald, you know what? You were right! Trade wars are easy to win." Xi Jinping
Ding ding! We've got a winner.
China Trade Surplus Largest in 11 Months
China's trade surplus widened to USD 44.74 billion in November of 2018 from USD 38.43 billion in the same month a year earlier and easily beating market consensus of USD 34 billion. It was the largest trade surplus since December 2017, as exports rose at a faster 5.4 percent year-on-year while imports went up by 3.0 percent
U.S. trade deficit hits 10-year high in October
(turns head and speaks to someone... it wasn't a spike?)
Sorry.. that wasn't a spike in the market.
Job security, you understand.
She NAILS it.
The 1st time I saw her do Melania I watched for awhile and couldn't be sure it wasn't Melania!
Nice work if you can get it!
What the Trump cult hasn't woke up to is that the man that over his lifetime benefited so greatly from a broken system at their expense now promises he and only he can fix that system for their benefit. Two years into the Trump presidency his promises have shown to be nothing but GREAT lies and cons..
Robert Reich: Trump's 30 Biggest Broken Promises
The Trump Presidency: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)
Uknow your trolling is lame..
I knew Trump had a lot of broken promises, but there was a few in that first video, that I learned about.
Thanks.
and the president of Mexico gets to call him an idiot. Odds are, at least one of them is right.
Our farmers have been displaced out of that market by Brazil and other countries thanks to Trump's tariff war.
with the most populated country. I'm not so sure 2019, 2020, and beyond are going to be good years.
So if you really want to blame somebody for the policies blame this guy: Dr. Peter Navarro. And if you would have bothered to read the article you would have already know that.
Another market that we were told that would affect us badly was the lamb market in the UK post Brixit vote , by people with no idea , well we are getting over $8 per kilo for lamb currently , a record by close to $ 2 depending on grade .
Tell us more about trade , I need a larf .
Markets are dynamic, not fixed.
"Inside China's strategy in the soybean trade war"
Facts: (math is easy)
Soyben world production- 336.7m tons.
China consumption 110 - 113.
China produces 14.5m
China needs to import 95-97 mtons of soybeans.
Largest producers: Brazil at 119.5, United States at 119.5, Argentina 37m, China at 14.2, Paraguay at 10.
regarding export to other markets like EU for example, (Tump bragged the EU was going to buy US soybeans, same day Junker said that was incorrect and the market is smaller - China imports 10x of what EU imports). China takes +-60% of all traded soy. There are no other "customers" to absorb the loss of the Chinese market. Almost two-thirds of US soybean exports go to China,
US other soybean markets.
Brazil sold 50million tonnes to China in 2017 . USA sold 32million. Brazil doubled its soybean sales to china since 2012
Price history
Purdue University estimated that a Chinese tariff on US soybeans could mean economic losses of between $1.7 billion and $3.3 billion a year. US farm incomes are projected to drop this year to the lowest level since 2002 and soybean prices are down.
regarding the article from U.S. GRAINS COUNCIL, "U.S. exports of grain in all forms (GIAF) are on track to set a new record in 2017/2018" you can find the original here.
Btw - Soybeans powered third-quarter growth in the US. Soybean was top agricultural export, at $21.6 billion in 2017. Corn was in second place at $9.1b.
Now, let's all eat tofu.
But, it is going to hit hard in 2019 and subsequent years.
The idiot-in-chief strikes again !
Rex Tillerson was correct. Trump is a moron.
oh , so its some time in the future is it . What a larf , bit like your impeachment .
No grower worth his salt will plant a crop without a contract and banks don't like lending for seasonal finance unless they do . Of course you know all this aye . Spec growers take a risk , gamblers every one and can make a killing , gambling on soy would be a punt too much for most .
I hope others now fully understand.
