Buzzfeed editor stands by report

Now that the special counsel's office has taken the rare step of disputing a news report about its investigation, BuzzFeed is challenging the special counsel to be more specific.
"We stand by the reporting in this story," BuzzFeed News editor in chief Ben Smith said on "Anderson Cooper 360" Friday evening.
"We spoke to, as we described in the story, two federal law enforcement officials involved in the investigation -- we're not playing any games with that characterization -- who told us that the president directed Michael Cohen to lie to Congress," Smith said.
He described the special counsel's push-back as "vague," and said, "We really urge the special counsel to make it clear what he's disputing."
Special counsel Robert Mueller's office has not responded to Smith's call for more information.

"urging the Special Counsel to clarify " is just stupidity, and does not help anything. On the other side, it shows that Muller does not play games.

Regarding wording, unless Mueller finds something that can be used in court he will not be using or support this claim, or "play" the journalist game.
Btw, I am not saying that the article is incorrect. I dont know. Calling Muller to "justify" is not helping the investigation for sure.
However, he is a Republican.
He either should not have responded at all in the first place to the news article, or he should clarify which part(s) are inaccurate.
At least The Washington Post has reported that Mueller was saying the entire report was inaccurate. The reporter that wrote it has said he never saw any proof that the claims Cohen said it were true.
Why are you guys so eager to jump the gun on any story that attempts to make Trump look guilty. The facts will come out in time and he may actually be guilty, but all you're doing right now is making yourselves look like partisan ideologues.
Meanwhile, they support the enemies of that country and literally help terrorism spread. They promise other enemies more flexibility after events or time frames then smaller areas might even become annexed.
Liars then help other enemies with deals and more.
Economically and globally, Trump has more than delivered what he's said he would do and still trying to follow through.
The only liars I see the most, are the self centered ones that can't think beyond what ever it is that 300+ million citizens, their lively hoods, and opportunities to move up and ahead simply DO NOT MATTER.
Perhaps, if people did some checking on the history of the "writer" for that article from buzzfeed, they might again, see something different. the mueller team can't refute a story like that publicly then try using it in court. Public perjury wouldn't set to well with an actual, honest judge.
SENTENCING MEMORANDUM ON BEHALF OF MICHAEL COHEN - Dated: November 30, 2018
page 18
"Information 18 Cr. 602: Counts Seven and Eight: Campaign Finance Violations & Information 18 Cr. 850: Count One: False Statements to Congress
We address the campaign finance and false statements allegations together because both arose from Michael’s fierce loyalty to Client-1. In each case, the conduct was intended to benefit Client-1, in accordance with Client -1’s directives. Michael regrets that his vigor in promoting Client-1’s interests in the heat of political battle led him to abandon good judgment and cross legal lines. "
False Statements to Congress (page 19)
"Michael’s false statements to Congress likewise sprung regrettably from Michael’s effort, as a loyal ally and then-champion of Client-1, to support and advance Client-1’s political messaging. At the time that he was requested to appear before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Michael was serving as personal attorney to the President, and followed daily the political messages that both Client-1 and his staff and supporters repeatedly and forcefully broadcast. Furthermore, in the weeks during which his then-counsel prepared his written response to the C
ongressional Committees, Michael remained in close and regular contact with White House-based staff and
legal counsel to Client--1. "
Totally clears the President! Thank You!!
hummmm......... who is Client-1?
