Tuesday

There is a Saturday blog and a Sunday one. I was suggested to do a Monday one. There are some great songs about Monday but I want to do a Tuesday one.
Reasons for a Tuesday. Well Monday is over for this week and one of my favourite bands wrote about Tuesday mornings. Their song Fairytale in New York is my favourite song but today let's talk about Tuesday.

As I can't post the video as I haven't learnt how to from a mobile here goes the lyrics.

Too many sad days
Too many Tuesday mornings
I thought of you today
I wished it was yesterday morning
I thought of you today
I dreamt you were dressed in mourning

But I knew that you
WIth your heart beating
And your eyes shining
Would be dreaming of me
Lying with you
On a Tuesday morning

I fell through the window
And I found that I was still breathing
I thought of tomorrow
And the fear that you might leave me
I thought of tomorrow
And I wished it was Monday morning

Turn your face from me
And I will cover myself with sorrow
Bring hell down upon me
I will surrender my heart to sorrow
Bring hell down upon me
And I will say goodbye tomorrow

Should I change it to "Not Monday"?
There are two songs about Mondays that are easy to remember." I don't like Mondays" and "Manic Monday". So many Monday songs but not that many Tuesday ones.
Rolling Stones, David Bowie they are great. I don't remember who sang Monday Monday but I do know the song.

@ Lou~ - wave ... About the song 'I Don't Like Mondays'

According to Geldof, he wrote the song after reading a telex report at Georgia State University's campus radio station, WRAS, on the shooting spree of 16-year-old Brenda Ann Spencer, who fired at children in a school playground at Grover Cleveland Elementary School in San Diego, California, on 29 January 1979, killing two adults and injuring eight children and one police officer. Spencer showed no remorse for her crime; her full explanation for her actions was "I don't like Mondays. ...... blues crying

I am familiar with that story...it is a shame that the US is still dealing with such events...

I do enjoy true crime novels and videos...interesting stuff...wine
@ Lou~ - wave .... Yes sadly it's what the US is famous for, I can't recall any other country having to deal with school shootings other than the incident of the chap in the Norway (I think) dressed as a police officer that shot all those kids camping on an island but technically that wasn't a school shooting.

Hans I have wish we would remember the name of the victims and not the killer.

Ish, that is why people often do it. For the notoriety, to be remembered.
That's true Jenny.
Sometimes you don't remember the words to a song till you hear the melody. I just like music
Well we shouldn't give them what they want Molly. I don't have any to remember murderers.

I don't remember how to delete comments. I'm doing doubles today
How about a little southern rock.
Miguel that's the first time I've heard that song.
Unfortunately Ish, we do tend to remember the names of serial killers and high profile murderers.
Here's a good Wednesday song for you, Ish.

You'll have to post it as I can't on this tablet

Molly I'm not going to listen to it till tomorrow. It's going to have to wait..but thank you
You're welcome bouquet
Ish the words are so sad!

No-one seems to have posted Ruby Tuesday - I prefer Melanie's version to the Rolling Stones

"There's no time to lose, " I heard her say

I bought a John Irving book by mistake the other day, I HATE John Irving, and yet he also penned one of my favourite quotes - If you are lucky enough to find a way of life you love, you have to find the courage to live it.
That is a good one.

good to see you back here and blogging...hug
Miguel, after listening to your song I understand why everyone was wanting to hug a tree.

"Something, calls to me,
The trees are drawing me near,
I've got to find out why"
Sounds like an enchanted forest. wine
Well the lyrics do talk about fairyland.

I'm looking at myself, reflections of my mind,
It's just the kind of day to leave myself behind,
gently swaying thru the fairy-land of love,
