Room temperature...

It depends on the room. South Florida had a cold front move through this weekend with freezing temperatures across the state. Currently, it's 39F (3.88C) outside and the temperature inside is 61 (16.11C), mostly due to the high winds blowing into the jalousie window in my front door.

My door faces the north and cold fronts normally come from the north. If you put your hand near the jalousie you can feel the wind passing through the glass slats.
I know, that's not very energy efficient in the summer especially when the cool air escapes from inside.

The past 2 months the a/c has been off and room temperature has been a nice 75 to 78. Should cold weather from this front remain, I'll tape some clear plastic over the window so the wind doesn't blow through.

Very true.. Parameter of "room temperature" can varied from places to places , times to times , it's not same everywhere ..

Just like now our normal "room temperature" here is around 11c ...

But usually it's normally be like around 35c most time of the year..

I think , it actually means "The temperature above freezing point" .. hmmm
As the day rolled on we were getting 20mph winds and after 2pm things warmed up.

I see in the news that some places in the northeast were getting more than 2 feet of snow and 2 people died in New York while shoveling snow.
For 'us' room temperature is not a variable but a defined constant 'desirable/comfortable' 68F or 20C. In America it is in the range 20-22C or 68-72. There is a phrase 'ambient temperature' which may be more applicable to your thread.
How do you die from shoveling snow?

I was going to suggest putting plastic on the inside of your jalousie door window. When I had jalousies oh so long ago I always used visqueen to cover the inside to stop air leaks in or out. Then as soon as possible I replaced the window panes especially since they are a burglar's delight.
Fay, one guy got too close to the edge of his pool and fell in. By the time they got him out he was dead.
"I was going to suggest putting plastic on the inside of your jalousie door window."

Since the wind blows into the apartment, I'll tape clear plastic on the outside. thumbs up
I'd like to compliment you on using the word jalousie... I have no idea what that is, probably parsley or something simple like that.
laugh laugh laugh
We would call those louvres... And we just call parsley, parsley... The upside is easy and cheap to replace, and more cyclone resistant than a full window.
In the states, it's spelled louver and the slats are usually fixed.
Bahama shutters with small louver slats are commonplace around here.
They offer shade and (unless it's really windy) protection from the rain.

I wouldn't trust them in a hurricane.
Last week, the high was 64 and yesterday the high was 84.
Short winter in sunny South Florida.
For older people over here they reckon 21c, but i find that too warm so turn down a few degrees

Interesting to see differences in different countries
Thanks RED, your tolerance for colder temperatures is greater than mine!

21C is = 69.8F

I'm comfortable around 78F and that's 25.5C
Maybe outside ambience outside makes difference when we are brought up in different climate dunno
