He's back !

I'm a bit of a local hero here today. At least, that's what I've been told by one family.

One of my pictures helped a family locate their lost cat.
The family used my photo to make posters today and this led to information helping locate the cat today. The owner told me that she only had a poor photo from her cell phone and she didn't know how to download it to her computer. So, I sent her one of mine.

Poor guy, Oreo, has been missing for 4 days and appears underfed.
Luckily, he approached me at a local lake & I took photos a month ago.

I met the owner 4 days ago, while she was repeatedly calling out, "Oreo ! Oreo ! Oreo !..." as she walked around the lake. She asked me "if I had saw a black & white cat". I had the evening before, but not that day. She told me that "he didn't come home last night and that both she and her son were very upset about this." I saw him on a bridge, the night before, which was different, as this was the only time I saw him so far from home.

I've run into him 4 times at his lake, the first time was on Valentines Day. That day, he gave me a bit of a scare. I was facing the lake taking photos of a soaring osprey, when I felt something rub up against the back of my left leg. I wasn't sure what it was, but I had seen several large snakes at that lake and am guessing that somewhere there are some gators, although I haven't seen any there. Well, I jumped forward and then looked back to see a very cute black & white cat looking up at me.

Each of the 4 times I've seen him, he followed me around, rubbing up against me, meowing & purring, as I walked the lake taking photos. Of course, I bent down to pet him each time.
Indeed, it was hard for me to get a photo of him, as I couldn't get far enough away from him to get him in focus. lol Several times I changed directions to shake his following me, to no avail.

He's an adorable, friendly & affectionate kitty.
I'm very glad he's been found. Although he has one of those tagging chips placed in him, today I urged the owner to get a collar with a tag with their phone number.

I gave the owner this photo of him, but I have better. I just felt that this one would suffice to ID him and it worked out.

Luckily, there was no Chinese restaurants in the neighborhood. laugh

Here's Oreo;

Happiness is an intrinsic attribute.
I'm happy and I'm guessing you are.
If he wasn't happy, it certainly wasn't our fault.

"Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it."
