Afraid to live/Afraid to die

I see many different people from many different backgrounds and walks of life during my busy day and the one thing that I have noticed is two distinct groups.

One group lives a rigid, isolated lifestyle which usually consists of a lot of self discipline, certain strict rules and regulations which can be extreme even to the point of depriving oneself of simple harmless pleasures in life.

The other group lives life with no rules. Living on the edge, experiencing as much as possible and doing everything excessively until they become numb to the reality of death , as if they are bullet proof.

But isn't balance the key to living a happy , full life? confused laugh

yes ..lana , we like your points of view , we have freedom of choice to be as we want to be banana
virgo.....you make a good point. We should have the freedom to chose the way we live our lives even if it may seem extreme to others. I will have to agree with that.cool
Freedom to choose is great in theory but for a society to function rules are necessary along with the paying of taxes to make it all work. There has to be a disciplined and conscientious majority, otherwise chaos.

Iv'e got it! In order to achieve balance in my life I will move to Pennsylvania and join the Amish.Change my name to Eziekiel and then every Saturday nite sneak off to Phily and bang my head, get some new ink,get drunk then go back and ride my horse with a hangover.

Ya I agree..Nothing worse than meeting a overly uptight person and the same goes for one who is so wild they have no control over their lives whatsoever..

A healthy balance is always good..They can loosen up a little once in awhile and enjoy life and they also know when to be serious.
laugh brip ya we should call this welcome to the cs bar..laugh
Yea Swiss.....seems like a lot of people like to go to extremes but very few are able to live a balanced life.
You really put that well, simple, yet so so true.
I spent a long long time living in the fast lane, as it were, and if one is lucky enough to bale out of the car just before it hits a wall, lol, you can actually relish the mundane for a little while.

However the fast lane has one hell of a pull, and once you have been in it, you will eternally yearn for the rush you get there.

Its a "balancing act" :)
writer,
Me too...I was a wild child.lol After the smoke settled I realized that wow life is fragile and should be treated with respect because it is a precious gift.cheers
