Would you? Could you? Have you?

Here is the scenario:-

Holidays are looming, plans have to be made.

Would you welcome a fellow blogger into your part of the world. Maybe be a tour guide for a day or two?

Rules.

This is not a date.
You are not expected to put someone in your house.
This has nothing to do with your "What I'm looking for list"
You are not expected to pay for anything.

What you could offer.

Meet your blogger at the airport assist in travelling to his/her accommodation.
Agree to meet up maybe one or two days for a day out.

If a woman was meeting a woman or a man meeting a man you may feel comfortable about sharing accommodation. That would be an added bonus.

This could apply just as much to those that are in a relationship, not looking for a relationship, or even those with kids.

You don't need to be far away. While it would be exciting for me to travel to China, a holiday in the UK or Ireland would be just as good.

I wouldn't; I couldn't... I just haven't... dunno
Dissapointed 10k - Malta is a great place.
If this is such a bad idea - give me some feedback why?
You dident mention traveling to the US, nothing here strikes youe fancy?I would be your tour guide anytime,so if you ever want to see the states let me know.lips
Hi Z wave
Not a bad idea at all and I have been welcoming virtual friends in my part of the world, both men and women. Also visited some friends abroad as well and it is nice to be shown around by a local; I got to see Barcelona from an all different side.

I would go a little by my friends taste and combine the best of Holland and Belgium together.
Brussels is best for city walks watching Art Nouveau and Art Deco buildings, followed by a look at the more touristy Grand Place, a visit to some of the finest chocolatiers in the world (tasting included) and a concert in one of the trendy little cafes around.
Then there are Bruges and Ghent, both beautiful cities and the Ardennes with visits to medieval towns and beer tasting at one of the monestaries Belgium is also known for.

In the Netherlands I would do Rotterdam, Utrecht and Maastricht and a road trip along the coast of Zeeland; I know all the less touristy places there.

Ofcourse it would depend on the length of the stay and the taste of the guest; with a woman, a day of shopping somewhere would definitely be in - Breda is great for shoe shopping laugh

Ofcourse Paris and London are also only slightly over an hour away... the sky is the limit laugh

Is this something you had in mind?

I feel like going on holiday now cool

Connecticut isn't so exciting.....but I'd love to be a local tour guide....no expectations, of course. Nothing wrong with making a new friend and enjoying the vaca simultaneously... handshake
Nothing wrong with the states Becky. I just mentioned the furtherest away place and the closest.

Conneticut is probably great Red to a stranger - folk flock to where I stay and I wonder why?

10K - this is not a date/boy-girl thing - you could show me the sites of Malta.

Sleepin - you have sold me on Belguin/Holland - you should be a tour guide.

Yes, yes and consider yourself invited! handshake
I'm in, not sure if where I live is interesting though. Nothing historical, nothing local is of cultural note. That's kinda why I'm here. The local color is more colorful.dancing
Definately I would...not sure I could fill their days with much excitement or culture, but I'd give it a shot!!applause applause
Lgs, you and I could be 2 stops on the dullest places to visit in America Tour of 2012.
I think its a fairly good idea,,and have myself done it when I went to china,,,but I can imagine hoards of folks fancying a tour of London,,maybe I would do it once for the right girl,,but if you are a guy, do,nt hold your breath...
Yes, I'd do that for any virtual friends of mine should they come by Medan - Indonesia. I'll even treat them and my home is open up for them should they want to cut their expenses (hotel expenses) - this applies to both males or females. After all, these virtual friends are from other countries visiting my country so Im willing to play the host - a good host grin
diamond: rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing Sad......but true, at least here!!laugh laugh hug
Absolutely! That sounds like fun. I live 30 minutes from Disneyland, and within an hour of mountains, beaches and the desert. I am also 30 minutes from downtown town Los Angeles, which offers many cultural events. Drop me a line if you are coming out this way.
sure! although the town where i live, nothing much to see, but i could show them some malls?laugh we have 3 nowapplause
I belong to another "group" on a different site and we did that a few years ago. Several of us went to San Antonio, TX and it was alot of fun.

So, yeah, I would join a bunch of us in a group somewhere. This is a pretty cool group and I know we would have fun!
If I may have my time to pick him/her in the airport, I'd love to do that. I don't really recommend anyone to go to my city anyway as I understand that traffic here is unbearable. I knew there were many friends were complaining about staying in Jakarta, unless my ex-fiance laugh Anyways, most of international flight with destination to Indonesia will land on either in Jakarta or in Denpasar (Bali), so any of you have plan to go to Jakarta, let me know as who knows I have my time to pick you up from the airportwine

I would, I could and I had. When I was younger (22 yrs old exactly). I had a male friend I met through a friend from Australia. I picked him from the airport and went directly to fly domestic to my province. Nothing much to see in my province but if he/she likes the beach and the country life, that's for sure he/she will enjoy her stay in our province.
