an arm and a leg

I just thought of the saying 'it cost an arm and a leg!' meaning it is very expensive. You have no idea.

Why is it we have to lose things to value them? even temporary loss (and I will regain the full use of my left side..I am going to drive again and do my midnight till morning show so I can race the sun home at dawn)costs a great deal in terms of frustration and fear.

Fear of falling, fear of becoming completely dependent on others, frustration that I cannot just hold something in my left hand, it usually destroys all it touches at the moment with sudden twists and unexpected clenchings that turn a hot dog into pitiful shreds, a sheet of paper into a rag, a plate into broken.

The last three days hve been good. I had the sense to rest yesterday after running around all day on Thursday and Friday. Got my two programs recorded with miss h which gives me plenty of editing time. The osteopath is pleased with the progress my arm is making but says i still have a bad case of tendonitis and tendons take a while to heal.

Saw my pottery teacher also and there were two pots of mine from my last session that had been fired but not glazed so they will replace some of the broken ones, Yay! and today i went out to lunch and ate some of the best chili I have had in some time. with cherry pie and whipped cream for dessert.

So it is entirely possible to have rich and satisfying days - i do it all the time - but much better to value your limbs, lovers and families while they are an active part of your life. When i can skip again I am going to have it photographed and post it on you tube or something! And i will dance to shakira's song Hips don't lie.
