Yet what you need is not marches, demonstrations, rallies or wide associations, all of them are important. What you need is direct action. The sooner people understand that, the sooner we'll begin to change things. Arthur Scargill

Hello Bogart. Nice quote. I'm good thanks, mate. How about yourself?

Hey Fotinia :) How are you? It's been a while? Todo bien?

3 day working week. Could be! They way things are going in the UK these days, a Victorian 6-day working week seems more probable. Thatcher's legacy of selfishness and individualism is (unfortunately) alive and well.

Off to work now, I'm a "striver", you see ;) so the replies will have to wait for later!
Yeahhh, Maggy Catcher Rest in Pi.. barf

Are you here...(?)
I am now, Fotinia! :)

How can I help you? ;)
"She did good, she did bad - legacy - court is still out"

If you really believe that, then we'll have to agree to disagree, I think.

I don't think the jury's still out on that one. Her legacy has been a huge increase in the wealth gap, a huge rise in poverty and New Labour.

Agreed on Tony Benn. I have huge respect and admiration for the man too.

"You can accuse me of what you want - I like individual from whatever party that stand up for their beliefs"

This is a tricky one. On the one hand, I agree. Strong, principled, politically driven politicians must surely be better than the wishy washy nonsense we have now in government and opposition.

But on the other hand, 'standing up for your beliefs' isn't always a good thing. It rather depends on what your beliefs are, surely? Some of the beliefs Thatcher held are repulsive to me.

When people talk about her strength of conviction as a positive trait, you must understand what a kick in the teeth that is to, for example, an ex-miner.
I can see from your post that you obviously have mixed feelings about her. As you may have guessed, my feelings are less mixed!

I suppose we just disagree on which way, or to what degree, the scales are tipped.

I'm in the 'she was overwhelmingly bad' camp and you're in the 'let's see how history judges her' camp.

I hope I'm not misrepresenting you by saying that.
Arthur Scargill is never british hero,, he was himself,, he did`nt care about the british people, all he wanting was more money for his members and in return he put up their sub to paid for his high wages and most of all he con them of their money for his high life and used their money to paid for his house.
SO he done nothing for his country..
