Does Anyone Know How To Trace An Email Address?
On this site and other sites I get emails from scammers like most people get. I was wondering if anyone could explain to me how to trace an email's origin? It would be nice to know! Thanks in advance for any help!

However the mail provider can only be forced by a court order to provide the details of the route taken by the specific email. The chances that you will get such a court order are zero. You will have to work through a law enforcement agency.
Alternatively you can hack the mail server to get the wanted information if you can decode it.
Sorry if its a dumb suggestion .

Thanks for the only intelligent response here! Just kidding everyone! I sort of expected some of these responses!
Ok Nice, how do I find this IP address and how do I use it please?
Don't mean to be so dumb about this.
I don't know if you thought my previous message was bogus.
There are several IP addresses involved here. The mail server's IP address can be plotted fairly easily with any of several free utilities like Pingplotter. But that is how far you will get.
You will not get to the IP address of the mail provider on the other side; nor the IP address of the service provider of the sender let alone the IP Address assigned to the sender himself.
Every message start with a phone or modem/router device and even that info is all imbedded in the email document but you and I cannot get to it. There is no ways that you can get to it other than a court order.
There is no ways that you can get to it legally other than a court order.
