Obviously not straight enough for the Saw Mill
How much would you say its worth.
That was amazing.
I was surprised at the lack of root. I didn't think it would have survived with so little.
At least they moved it though.
Here, they would try to bulldoze it to the ground. .. in the name of progress
Were they moving the old oak to an new location?...or using it for firewood?...either way it is a massive undertaking...to say the least!!
You're right...never seen that before.
I can only imagine the cost...but all worth it for the preservation of that mighty oak.
Great clip.
Im sure the tree would have historical sentiment attached to it to condone such costly attention. Great to see it being done.
That is something else. You really get an idea of how big that tree is with the equipment around it. Good thing they moved it on a calm, non-windy day. :)
Very true I doubt a strong gusty wind would have helped.
Engineering for Hippies 101.
I'm sure the blew something up after lunch
I honestly had no idea that a huge tree could be moved and replanted
I doubt they do it to often, but lets hope it trends
Nothing wrong with being a tree hugger...except for the pitch/sap on your lips...lol...
Interesting video, but err maybe they just wanted to move the shade, 'cause of the position of the sun in the afternoon and 'cause the people who owned the place moved their chairs around? lol
Which reminds me, Years ago, a friend of mine had a goal in mind, that he would be an Astronaut someday and travel to the Sun.
I told him, "What? Are you crazy? You'll get burned up!"
He answered, "Noo, you see, I'll just travel there at NIGHT-TIME." lol (sheesh, these jokes are just not working tonight or today..)
Again, interesting video.. and blog. Have a cool day.
howdy Pal. The sun was a hot topic one day but it had pretty much cooled down buy nightfall
Can I just say sad...will she remember?...lol too funny!! Nothing like a drunk tree hugger!!
That tree will never be the same after that performance..
An impressing move. Reminds me of when they move historical houses, a kind a difficult when you have to go through small towns.
Too bad trees can't tell the stories they witnessed.
I think that girl is trying to get some "Wood" from the tree
Did you see her slap the poor tree.
I wonder what he said to her.
Good morning hope you are well
This link is the latest I could see.
Just copy and paste it.
If trees could talk, they would make a lot of trunk calls
Must have cost quite a packet. It might have been cheaper to bring the destination to the tree.
300.000 was the bill for done job I believe
I hope the wood will be protected...lol...haha
But the band is basically comprised of 5 planks
You branched out since your youth I see.
Did you get the local horticulturist to help you write that one.
if not you must have done some digging around to come up with that.
I'm seeing you as a budding expert in this field
But what exactly did she see to make her do what she did.
I expect the world was pretty much like this, at that moment in time.
