Not mocking. Just saying. Oh, and this isn't politics (YAY)

This is a trust-me blog, I guess, because most of us shy away nervously from any religious blog so it comes down to do you trust Biff not to cram her views down your reluctant throat?

It's an old Dave Allan comedy skit but it should be required watching for anyone who insists their religion is simple, straightforward, and easy to understand! This particular skit is about Christianity through the eyes of a child and it is brilliant, and will turn your impatience with zealots (believers AND atheists) on its head

So that makes it a Good Thing scold

I

Plus he has a fab accent. daydream

thumbs up Loved his show in the seventies. Hit's home with me at Sunday school at the age of four.
They did not like the question........... why?
Ah, so you didn't have to trust me because you already trusted him, laugh

That's exactly what I said in the blog, don't be impatient with 'stupid' questions, I hate it when people get that expression (you know, glazed eyes, the lights are on but nobody's home) and say don't dare argue, I know what I know and I don't have to explain

Okay that's politics too grin
not politics? No trump? Nahh .. (walks away)
professor I would trust 99% of S. African females.
Maybe he's the answer to the CS mail problem, when someone writes to you, if your first question to them is "do you find Dave Allen funny" and they answer "no" you've saved yourself a whole load of time professor laugh
It's kinda crazy really, although Dave Allen is Irish, he is much better known in other countries than here.
Pedal, 99% is a bit high. Some are a little - erratic. I'm thinking Winnie Mandela, for starters, with her little box of matches ...

Politics again. doh
Molly, that whole early 'stop asking questions just believe what I say' thing left me restless for life with dogma laugh
Z, that is absolutely BRILLIANT. And this skit nips another potential problem in the bud! yay
Biff, I did do the whole believing thing for a long long time.

But stopped when I got a mind of my own.
Oh, I shall never stop asking questions and searching for what sits comfortably in my head. laugh Just don't TELL me to shut up and believe, and NEVER tell me to ignore what doesn't slot neatly into place. I was born contrary rolling on the floor laughing
Love Dave Allan, He was so original and well ahead of his time applause

Thanks for the laughs biff laugh hug
And right now I have a house to empty and a garage to fill applause yay dancing so will be back with frequent cups of coffee to see what CS is up to joy cartwheel beverage delivery
Non, I'm embarrassed to say I don't really know his stuff, I spotted this on FB today and loved it. Will seek out more laugh

Any recommendations gratefully received grin
peds is right and the young ones in cork must be not trusted either .
Molly, you will have to back up that comment and not just expect us to take it on trust. scold A blurred photo is simply not enough proof.

grin
Ok, blurredly fab mumbling
I mean Molly on the evidence I would believe you're all blurred and I'm sure someone would have mentioned it if you were.

Tell me about Corkonians. Why aren't you just called Corks?
It is imperative to keep clothes that are both too big and too small

You may go on that diet, or you may eat too much chocolate . Either way, it is necessary to have clothes for all eventualities. professor
Well the too small clothes, not many left, I'm either wearing them now (wheeee) or they are so out of date they had to go laugh
I have a dressy -uppy party in Dublin next weekend

I'm nearly afraid to try on the dress I plan to wear help
You mean it may not look as if it was poured on, more like you were then pumped up? Pop over, I've got stuff in every possible size, help yourself laugh

And if it is a little snug, don't make the mistake of going on a pure veg diet for the week, that causes bloating sigh
In 2011 daughter announced she was getting married in a year and I bought a mum-of-bride outfit. Then lost about 25 lbs. Bought another. Lost another 25 lbs. Bought a third sigh

I would have killed her if she'd cancelled the wedding after all that laugh
Wow, I think I'll announce my marriage if it'll get those kind if results laugh
rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing ......yeeh,that's how the brainwashing start on the way into the BOX......in Finland there is a sect, where they tell to children, that if they don't follow the religion, then God trow burning stones on them.....The PM in Finland belongs to that sect.
Funnily enough I watched this on YT recently, very funny, Like Pedal I enjoyed his TV shows in the 70's, he used to be rather drunk by the end of the show.
That was fab.
Shame on me I'd never even heard of him.

I can see why he wouldn't have made it in stuffy old Ireland in the 80s.
Waaaaayyyy ahead of his time.

Whoa I also noticed he's missing an index finger.
(Just the tip, but the tips important. Ask anyone who was on the Titanic
Awww Peds blues moping

Sjoe, Biff...this will resonate with anyone growing up in a Catholic household and it certainly did with me laugh

Yea, I like his accent as well
No worries Unlao, you are in the 99%head banger
Good stuff! grin cheering cheering
Hahah I had to go back to your initial comment. Maybe trusting 99% is a bit high, like Biff said

I thought you said you wouldn't trust 99% laugh
I would never say that. All top notch babesbanana ...................................................conversing
Pedal, getting very smooth now that you have reached the age of pure charm laugh
Very chuffed to see that some people did trust me laugh
Yay! Thanks Peds hug
Right.thumbs up I am at the age of charm.roll eyes
Our Bible lessons were a bit less harsh but not less confusing. Enjoyed this rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
Something wrong in the presentation of God there...fear and hate is never the way to go.

He portrayed the innocence and confusion of the little boy well though. Methinks his own experience?
