My Blues impairment...

I've been working with a contractor and his clients for a few weeks now. Tweaking the layout of a remodeling job. Originally, it was a kitchen. Then they added the master bath, display, laundry and window seats for 2 bedrooms.
I waited for my finishing department to make a stain sample a week ago and it was rejected by the clients based on the grain of the wood. We selected a different cut of wood and requested another color sample be made. I asked for that to be ready last Friday and was told Monday.

The project is about 40 miles from my house and I rescheduled the meeting for Monday, late afternoon. The problem was the finishing department didn't get the sample for me. I made it to my appointment, went over all the details, sizes and prices... except I didn't have a wood stain sample for them to approve.
Yeah, it's not a good thing for a salesman to close a deal when the key to the deciding factor is missing. I couldn't get the deposit without final approval of the color. This means another trip... when the freaking sample is ready.

I offered excuses but the contractor is holding the deposit check until the clients are happy with the color. So, I left empty handed. But... they want to add wall units in two rooms. I tool measurements and details and will have a price for additional work from the clients/contractor.

Kinda annoyed, on the way back home, I tuned to a blues station on satellite radio to hear guitarist Joe Bonamassa hosting a show about some female blues legends.
It's been 55 years since I first started learning music, guitar in general. Quit and started back a few times along the way. While rock music is my main focus, I find myself leaning toward British blues rock that was created by guys in England listening to old records of Black American blues artists. It's Blues with a British twist. A favorite group was FREE who had billing as a blues band.

Back to the radio show, Joe played songs by Jessie Mae Hemphill, an artist who's name I didn't recognize. One of the first things I did when I arrived home was to do some YouTube research on Jessie. Her style is about as raw as blues gets...

"You know I love you but you treat me so low-down..."

Simple, but I'll have to wait for the weekend to 'ear out' the song and learn the parts.
That's my Blues impairment for the week.

indoctrinated into darkness...What is the next move?

What is the next move?

I see it here in my small local communities...people openly accepting and displaying their desire to not only follow dark religions, but to show it with clothing they wear.

From what I see...it started with dividing people.
Then it followed with the genders becoming confused.
It then became where the genders went to war with each other...hating each other.
The next stage, we see the social acceptance of the dark religion through media and music.
Now today, I see people openly displaying their acceptance of this darkness.

Do you see the progression too?

What is the next stage/move?

Another side question...look at the progression I just mentioned. Does this progression mirror anything in history that we are aware of? Does Charlie Manson ring a bell? Does this not mirror the manipulation that Charlie Manson used...the only difference is, this is on a macro level.

So...what is the next stage/move?

my Politically Motivated quiz...

The New York District Attorney is charging Trump's corporation for tax fraud of a period dating back 10 years, is this considered politically motivated?
My answer is ( N )

Trump had an affair with an adult film actress (porn star) prior to his run for the presidency and had his attorney Michael Cohen pay the woman 'hush money' as to not affect his run. Was that politically motivated?
My answer is ( Y )

The Trump corporation reimbursed Cohen and as a result Cohen went to prison. Was that politically motivated?
My answer is ( N )

The January 6th committee had testimony from Trump supporters who took part in the insurrection who stated they believe they were following Trump's orders and that storming the Capitol building would block the certification of Joe Biden. Was Trumps actions politically motivated?
My answer is ( Y )

Trump announced on his TRUTH social media platform that he is expected to be arrested on Tuesday and is calling for protests. Is his action politically motivated?
My answer is ( N ) but inciting a riot of that magnitude is in violation of Federal Law.

How am I doing so far?

Catalytic Converter Theft...

I've seen a few news links about catalytic converters being stolen from cars. Tonight one article revealed data from insurance companies stated what was thousands per year are increasing in numbers. One of the most targeted vehicles is the Ford F-Series truck. The truck is high enough that someone can slide under with a wrench and unbolt the unit in a few minutes.

Personally, I had an engine fail on my 2014 Hyundai Veloster caused by a piston ring that sent 3 quarts out the exhaust. My mechanic found a used engine, one recovered from a rear end collision. It wasn't running correctly and the suspect was the catalytic converter had clogged due to the oil. We could have shorted out the sensor, re-piped the exhaust and reprogrammed the brain, but that had some restrictions. I didn't want to drive a car with a tampered exhaust system so I bought a re-manufactured catalytic converter and the car ran like it did before the engine blew up.
At that time, new catalytic converters for that model were around $1,500 and re-manufactured around $500. Either way, it was a big chunk of money.

I did find flaws in some the stories I've read.
Most cars have alarm systems that are set off when you bump the car.
So, how is it possible someone can jack up a Honda (for example) and unbolt a converter without setting off the alarm?

Some stolen converters are used to replace defective ones in other cars while other are sold for the precious metals they contain.

Okay, police have suggested engraving them with a unique traceable number.
In the real world, just like stolen guns... grind off the number.
I believe possession of a gun with a tampered serial is illegal, but I doubt there are laws to cover converters.

If it's so easy to unbolt a converter... SPOT WELD the joints so only someone using a grinder could break it loose.

Maybe more thought needs to go into a method to deter the business of stealing catalytic converters...

Enlarged Prostate...

I had a busy morning, making a sale, dropping off the check to the office, going through the factory to review some deliveries scheduled next week. All is good. On the way home I got gas and wanted to do a quick run through Walmart. Not a good idea as it was busy like they were giving things away!
I had to pee and knew I couldn't hold it until I got home. No choice, so I went to the restroom in the store. All the stalls were empty... looks like they were shopping and not peeing. Standing at the urinal, thinking of the obligations for the rest of the day, I hear someone talking... I'm doing my best to ignore the guy, but he repeated himself a few times. He was asking me if I had to get up during the night to pee. I pulled my zipper up, stepped back and turned. My answer was "No" and to his surprise he said he's got an enlarged prostrate and has to get up to pee at least three times during the night.
TMI, isn't it?

Sorry, I'm not accustomed to striking up conversations at the urinal and distanced myself by walking the opposite direction from him to wash my hands.
It's a good thing he 'got the message' as I was prepared to tell him the whole world has an enlarged prostate... But, he walked out of the restroom still complaining about his prostate.

Robert Blake dead at 89...

Emmy award-winning actor Robert Blake has passed on at the age of 89. I remember him from the TV series Baretta and he was back in the news when tried and acquitted of the murder of his wife.
Always the moody tough guy I caught him on the Tonight Show interview where it appeared his off screen personality matched his on screen personality.

Cause of death was heart disease.

Adidas: Lose, lose, lose...

Late last year, Adidas had a falling out with Ye aka Kanye West and now they have warehouses stocked/stacked with his Yeezy shoes. Talk of donating the shoes or offloading them to some factory outlets has complications. I read that even after their 'breakup' they would have to pay Ye royalties for the sale of the shoes.
Destroying them causes problems environmentally, rebranding them probably poses some ethical problems. Whatever the solution, it's a case of lose, lose, lose for Adidas.

One of the many different Yeezy styles:
