It's YOUR move.

You play white. "Do you feel lucky...... ?"

What is the best single chess move you can make in the position shown below ?
It leads to checkmate of the black king a couple of moves later.

cheers

The chess notation is, that the location of the lower left space is a1, and the space just
to the right of a1, is b1.
Thus, the highest right corner on the board is space h8.

K = King
Q = Queen
R = Rook
B = Bishop
N = Knight
P = Pawn

So, one could move the Pawn in front of your king (Ph3) to the h4 space as
1. P h3 - h4, as your first move. But, there is a much better move.
What is the best one ?

The first one to state it, wins the challenge. peace

a REEL good blog...

My brother, me and his friends often went fishing on weekends.
We live about 6 miles from the Atlantic Ocean and could take the bus there.
Typically, their fishing gear were poles that came apart in 2 or three sections, had a reel attached and a metal tackle box used to carry hooks, lead weights (sinkers) and an assortment of tools and gadgets used in fishing.
The bus got us to the pier, where they could walk out a few hundred feet to fish in deeper water than fishing at the shoreline. There was a bait store and the entrance to the pier where you could buy supplies and live bait. If you are serious about catching fish there's a good chance you would want to attach a live shrimp on your hook.
With the sinker, your bait will drop to the ocean floor. Not all large fish look for food there, so you need a bobber that is a plastic ball about 2" wide that attaches to your line and holds the hook only as deep as you set it. As a bigger fish swims along, he sees the shrimp and takes a bite.

We all started out using lightweight fishing gear that was ideal for anything under 10" long... ideal if you were standing along the edge of a canal or small lake. If you wanted something more serious, everything had to be upgraded. I remember my brother buying a used reel from someone at the pier.
It was called Quick Finessa and had features that allowed the user to reel in larger fish. That thing was so different from the 'toys' we had earlier it allowed casting a line 2 or 3 times farther than the smaller reels. Larger bait, thicker line... we were catching larger fish.

Since I was the younger brother, I only got to use the Quick Finessa when my brother took a break as I normally had the job of catching the tiny fish 2-3" long. I could put 4 little hooks on a line, bait them with pieces of shrimp and in a few seconds catch a few 'shiners' used to cut into strips to bait the larger hooks.

I don't recall what happened to the fishing gear as we each went different ways me playing music for a living and my brother went away to college. I'm sure if I mention Quick Finessa, he will have some stories of his many fishing trips where we always had a 'reel' good time!

The grain kernels in the friction rice whitener

Friction is a process used to whiten brown rice. In the friction rice whitener the grain kernels are forced against each other and a metal screen by a steel-ribbed cylinder rotating inside a metal plated cylinder. The frictional forces created between individual rice grains and between the grains and the metal screen surface remove the bran layer from the grain. Friction polishers are always horizontal in design and apply more pressure on the grain than an abrasive whitener.

The whitening chamber is the enclosed space formed by the whitening screen and the whitening roll. The whitening screen is made up of 3 separate triangular perforated hardened steel plates which are clamped at both ends. Due to the presence of the vertical iron supports on these plates, the screen that is formed is a nonagon with unequal sides. The upper portion of the screen set up is linked to a spring system which makes it possible to be mobile.

High yielding cultivars and use of advanced methods of harvesting, threshing, milling, and storage help in alleviating postharvest losses and improve crop output. Cultivar, crop management practices, time of harvesting, postharvest handling, drying techniques, and milling methods are among a few major factors responsible for improving cooking quality of rice. Mechanical harvesting of crop at 20–26 % moisture levels followed by automated drying, pneumatic husking, and grain whitening through horizontal frictional whiteners are considered to be the best processing techniques that impart good cooking and milling qualities to the rice. In resource constrained and developing economies, adoption of advanced processing techniques to improve postharvest quality of rice is compromised on account of farmers’ illiteracy, low acreage, and poor access to the agricultural inputs. It may be compensated through capacity building and training of the stakeholders with the assistance of developed countries.

Integrated professional technology and actual production practice in domestic rice milling plant, rice polisher is designed and developed to be both economic and making rice become lucent and white. It is not only applied to be single processing machine for rice milling plant, but also used for multistep slight polishing with several machines.

Tales of woe.....

I suggest that this wonderful site develop an al Gore rythym to screen out the fairly large percentage of scammers. Could be based on location, use of language, history, stories, etc. The few false positives could have a path to easily reapply, based on a few key variables. But then we'd miss all the great stories/proposals. Any folks have some of these to share, all intended to get USD's wired or mothers/kids in need of costly medical treatment? V-Aa.

Las Vegas Trip

Does any of you on here ever gamble?

I do but just for entertainment. I used to go to Sin City at least four times a year when I lived in Wooford Heights but now I am way far in the North and only go there now twice a year for fun.

Anyways, I play Pai Gao poker, my only table game and the Progressive bonus is almost a million dollar at the Flamingo. Whoa a very high one compared to all the Indian Casinos in California or even in Vegas. The only thing is that you have to play with $5.00 dollars to win instead of only a dollar in the bonus. The main bet is minimum $25 to $10, 000. I normally play at least $300.00 a deal.

There was a couple next to me playing at least 5 grand per game and walked out with at least $40 grand. Sheesh I wish I'm that lucky.

Anyways I had so much fun. I didn't lose that much but my stay at the Mandalay Bay was cool. I normally stay at the Bellagio and or the Flamingo but this time the price of Mandalay was way too cheap compared to Ceasars and or the Venetian. They are doing everything to get back their reputation.

DOTA2 vs LOL

If you know these 2 games which is your preferred game, I'm a Dota2 man myself.
Its a map I recognise as well as the characters in the game.
I mean I would support LOL purely because of the story behind these two games that started this DOTA2/LOL war in the first place. but it comes down to the fact that I prefer things im familiar with
What say you?

the antisocial

The life of the solitary/hermit type. I go to work. I greet people with a genuine interest in how they are. I find a common element and talk about it. It could be the weather, children or a geographic location. I make them feel comfortable and "normal". I am a hermit who works customer service. I like to banter for a limited time. I know people and I enjoy the brief interaction. I don't bank on the interaction. I don't take phone numbers or set dates. Like chocolate, too much human is too much. I limit my sweets to keep it healthy.

When I am home, I cuddle my dogs and find a documentary. I love watching things that give me insight on the human dynamics. I make a meal for one and read. I don't feel lonely. The prospect of meeting and sharing time with another person is a bit scary. I like my time. It doesn't cost anything and it is also valuable.

I care if someone is hurting but I know there is little I can do. I care if a person is struggling but there is little I can do. the best I can do is be consistent and supportive in the mental sense. Financial and otherwise is not possible. A hermit/solitary person has good advice. We are aware of our surroundings. Being solitary or a hermit doesn't make us anti-human. We may only be antisocial because to be social is an emotional overload.

geographic

Geographic compatibility. I've noticed that I get on better with the East coast. It doesn't matter the age or gender. I grew up on the West coast and like the people there but I've found I can converse with East coast much better. Being on the phone and in person, this seems to be a fact. I find this interesting. The things that shape us and create our take on life. Have you noticed a geographic compatibility?
