Defeat – Odds in Favor of You
“If you are depressed you are living in the past.
If you are anxious you are living in the future.
If you are at peace you are living in the present.”

I like to think I have learned a few things as I got older. When I was in my 20s, I had no idea what things were and how to respond to life when it came knocking.
Every now n then we see a post that is basically someone bashing women (or men). There was a time in my life, I would have made that same post out of frustration. I never meant it deep down but it was the only way I knew how to vent my frustrations at the time.
I learned however that people do not like those posts and in the end, it only made my situation worst as it caused me to loose friends and destroy any chance of making new friends. I had to tell myself that what I was doing was wrong and I needed to find a better way. I asked myself "is it really them, or is it me?" It was me of course. Once I figured that out, I grew and matured from that and today, I would never think about making a post like that.
When I see bashing posts or the "poor me" posts, I think of what I used to be like and how I grown over the years and grew out of the childishness and do you know what? I have more friends now than ever, I hope that at least one or two people here like me lol, and life is just so much smoother.
Never stop growing, never stop learning, and never stop living.
This morning I left my ex-girlfriend's place to play modified fast pitch softball.
I went 3 for 4 at the plate, but the team did not fare as well.
It was very hot & sunny and got hotter the more the game progressed.
After the game, I stopped by a grocery store and bought seedless grapes,
mangoes, honey BBQ sauce and a package of frozen strawberry fruit pops.
I ate 2 of the latter on the drive home and am now finishing the last one
while having a fan blow cool air on me.
All I can say, is that, it..... feels so good.
What is your favorite time of day?
Mine is in the morning of the day before the problems of the world start putting their demands upon me. It is the time that I start my day with and I refuse to let the problems of the world begin my day. It may sound selfish but problems of the world will always be there yet my quiet time in the morning for reflection, writing things that motivate me and inspiration are mine and to hell with the problems of the world for 30-45 minutes! (of course if it is a life or death situation then you have my full attention)
I may start my day off with a favorite video of mine such as Angel in Blue Jeans, go on to Stay by Rihanna and listen to “She’s Like the Wind” by Patrick Swayze, then I will kick into “Summer Breeze” by Seals and Croft or some good ole oldies from Rod Stewart such as “Maggie May “which take me to a past era of time.
“Oh my…I just looked out the window this morning here in Idaho as I write these lines to share with you and it is snowing …how beautiful”
Maybe it is a little bit of nostalgia the songs stir up with in me with some past memories of a romance which helps ignites the wheels of desire and passion in the direction for a future adventure of sharing a romance with some one in life.
Anyway I just wanted to share a few lines with all of you from this morning. Hopefully you can catch the essence of these words. Here is a video I like a lot: Summer Breeze is the song...

On the weekends I usually go into hobby obsession mode doing maintenance and charging batteries for model helicopter flying sessions the next morning. This usually means 3 to 4 hours sleep. I'm usually out the door after 7am and go with no food or drink until I return in the early afternoon... sunburned, starved and dehydrated.
Lunch is a normal meal and I then go into hibernation for 2 hours to make up for the sleep lost the previous night.
My flight gear is low-end 'affordable' to me. Not fancy, stable with few options. The last 2 models I bought had a new control system with more sophistication in the way of offering the pilot features to change the way the model reacts in the amount of agility and reaction speed.
A docile model can now be user adjusted for high performance with control setting changes. The bad part is documentation for this is sketchy. The manufacturer has several YouTube videos in a series for setup. Other pilots have posted videos explaining some of the mystery... however, not enough detail is available to my satisfaction. For example, there are 2 parameters to control drift. One for front/back and one for left/right. The numbers can be in a range of -250 to +250. Great... except no one can tell me if negative numbers pulls it to the left or right. Seriously... 2 calls to tech support for clarification and the technician says he doesn't have time to 'walk me through' a setup and to follow the videos.
Currently, I'm the only one at the field flying that brand/model of control system so there is no local support. There are a few companies who make controllers and the majority of better pilots use one called VBAR. Naturally, it's advised if I want to up my skills, to get with the VBAR crowd as there are a handful of pilots who can offer direct help.
Friday a friend and I went to a hobby shop 40 miles away that specializes in selling the VBAR radio gear used to control model helicopters. Saturday, 2 of the club members did some surgery on one of my machines by removing the existing controller and installing a VBAR. The radio is fully controllable via a touch screen and within a few minutes they were able to download a few apps via Wi-Fi to further enhances it's capabilities.
One of the guys who set up the new system did some initial test flights while asking how I preferred the setup, handing it over a few times for me to try the different settings and telling which direction I liked best.
It was a busy day at the field with some 9 pilots waiting to fly so neither of use did more than a few test flights. On Sunday, I got in a few flights being very cautious as it's characteristics were very different from the previous controllers I had experience with.
I got the phone call lunch was waiting and I packed my things to head home. After eating, I got online to check mail and read some news stories. The one article that caught my attention was about sleep deprivation. We know it's been linked to hypertension, obesity and diabetes. Now it's believed to be connected to dementia.
Not exactly what I wanted to hear as I was fading and needed to power-nap.
Most of my Sunday is gone and I've got to finish some shop drawings for the kitchen I ordered last week. Hopefully, I'll get to bed before 2am as Mondays are always hectic and I need to be alert.

If you watch TV detective movies, you know that BOLO is a police acronym for 'Be on the lookout' and in this case I'm issuing a BOLO for a Pennsylvania blogger who goes by the alias of Palmfrond. Like a day trader, it's normal her her to close her profile and return a short time later, but the COVID-19 pandemic has her missing much longer.
Tough times, I know she's had more than a share and if someone has contact with her in real life, please pass a message that I wish her the best!
