New reporting by ProPublica found that a specific tax break that found its way into President Trump's 2017 tax bill benefited only “82 families” per one of the reporters, Justin Elliott. That Republican tax bill gifted the wealthiest of corporations $233 billion in tax cuts, according to the Center for American Progress. $233 Billion in tax cuts to corporations. $69 Billion to lift low-income families above the poverty line. Those tax cuts to people and companies that didn’t need them could have solved American poverty. Says Elliott, “this part of the Trump tax bill was extremely tilted towards the richest people in the country.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has declared herself vindicated for a decades-long claim to be Cherokee, thanks to a DNA test she ordered in response to taunts from President Donald Trump, in another signal that the former professor is gearing up for a 2020 presidential run.
According to Warren’s own DNA test, she has, at best, 1/64th Native American ancestry, but it could also be as low as 1/1,024. Percentage-wise, she can claim somewhere between 0.1 percent to 1.56 percent Native lineage.

The plaintiffs have sought $20 trillion, which is a bigger amount than China's GDP, claiming coronavirus is the result of a biological weapon prepared by the Chinese authorities.
They have accused China of aiding and abetting death, provision of material support to terrorists, conspiracy to cause injury and death of US citizens, negligence, wrongful death, and assault and battery.

I watched '60 Minutes' tonight on the mismanagement & corruption with the Trump wall.
It was amazing ! The guy who actually was building the wall was rejected TWICE by the government,
because not only were the 2 attempts at an example wall containing flaws, but the company had multiple fines for environmental violations and had no experience with building a border wall.
So, the owner of the company took a different route. He got several interviews on FOX news, stating that
he could build the wall cheaper and better than anyone else. He did this, because he knew Trump
was addicted to watching FOX news. And it worked. Trump personally pushed for the guy to get the contract and because of it, is now getting $Billions in taxpayer money for contracts.
The president is not supposed to be involved in contracts. It is corrupt to do so.
Just as bad, the sections of the wall the contractor built are a mess. They are not connected to anything on either end and the soil below the wall has large gaps in it from erosion after a summer rain.
They are ineffective and will likely fall down.

This summer, Federal agents arrested President Trump's former Chief Strategist, Steve Bannon, on a yacht off the coast of Connecticut. Bannon and three others are accused of defrauding donors to We Build the Wall, a conservative fund raising campaign that raised millions of dollars to privately build sections of wall on the border with Mexico. Prosecutors say the defendants took hundreds of thousands of dollars from the fund for their own personal use. They've pleaded not guilty. Before the arrests, We Build the Wall had completed two walls. Less than a mile in New Mexico and three miles in Texas.
Tonight, you will hear about the contractor who built both of those walls, Fisher Sand and Gravel out of North Dakota, and how they leveraged those jobs to earn billions of dollars in government contracts with support from President Trump. Last month, reports surfaced that one of their private walls was falling apart. So, we went to Mission, Texas, to see for ourselves.
We drove over the flood levee, down a dusty road that dead-ends at a sugar cane farm. And there it was. The so-called "wall" looks more like a fence. It's steel spine curves three miles down the banks of the Rio Grande and stretches upwards of 18 feet high. It sits on private property, so the only way for us to get a better look is from the water. From here, it appears fine. But Javier Peña, an attorney who represents neighboring landowners, noticed erosion from summer storms was quite literally covered up. He hired engineers to inspect it.
Sharyn Alfonsi: What have you seen?
Javier Peña: Massive erosion. There's cracks in the foundation. The foundation is crumbling. There was an 8 foot hole under the fence. There are these trenches all along the wall, the sand just washing away. From the experts that have actually reviewed the site there is no differing opinions.
Sharyn Alfonsi: What is the opinion?
Javier Peña: That it's not a question of whether it will fail, it's when it's going to fail and it already started to fail.
To understand why this is happening, Peña says you have to go back to the fall of 2019 when a character called Foreman Mike, from Florida, a mouthpiece for We Build the Wall's fundraising drive, showed up in Mission, Texas.

A daring rescue that came too late...
Witnesses reported a nearly submerged car in the Niagara River near the falls. It's believed it went in near a pedestrian bridge as it's snowing in New York and the roads are slippery.
The car was out of range for the State Park rescue team and they used a drone to determine the vehicle was occupied.
The Coast Guard dispatched a helicopter and lowered a rescue swimmer who was able to enter the car and pull out the only occupant, a woman who was motionless while being hoisted up to the helicopter.
Help came too late, the woman died.
After the rescue, emergency crews prepared to pull the car from the water and investigators will try to determine if the vehicle entered the water by accident or intentionally.

Blind Courage
A golden retriever threw himself in front of a mini school bus in an effort to protect his blind owner. He refused to leave her and stayed by her side as emergency personnel tended to their injuries. The dog and his owner are recovering.
The dog, Figo, allowed his leg to be bandaged without barking or yelping but he kept pulling towards his owner.
Figo was not allowed in the ambulance; he was taken to the veterinarian in a fire vehicle where he underwent surgery and was given a leg splint. The dog’s owner, Audrey Stone(62) suffered a head wound and a fractured ankle, elbow and ribs.
The driver said he didn't see the pair crossing the road. He is being prosecuted for failing to yield to a pedestrian and was suspended from duty pending an investigation. The two children on the bus weren't injured.
This happened in Brewster, N.Y. If ever a dog deserved a medal, Figo must be one of the main contenders.
Dogs are often referred to as man's best friend but I sometimes wonder if they always think the same about us.
