Quite often when someone older passes on...I hear people will say..."He/she had a full life"...
But this makes me confused...and I do have a couple of questions...
1) is there an age limit or minimum (60, 70, 90...) to say a person had his/her life?,
2) will we ever be 'ready' (and not referring to religion or psychological, illness), to die..., and
3), what is the definition of a 'full' life for You?
Well, that is what my late brother used to say. He used to can himself laughing whenever he said so for he was very lucky indeed. Or was he?
When he bought a raffle ticket at the local school or church bazaar, he won it much more than often. He did not have any special number that he played every time as some other ‘lucky’ people sometimes have. He played just anything. Sometimes he even asked the person selling the tickets to mark just any number. We used to take friendly side bets on him winning the raffle. Few people were willing to bet against him winning. As for myself, no raffle ticket I ever bought has won any prizes.
It was like that at the casino as well. Never any spectacular wins but he mostly went home with more than what he came with and he often treated us to a meal on their money while at the casino. I’m not really a gambling man but I loved going to the casino with him. I even gambled a few Rand away at such occasions.
I was the better golf player between the two of us but he managed that elusive perfect fluke, something I never got right. In fact, not even a close miss.
He never won the lotto jackpot but on two occasions he managed to get five plus. He always laughed and blamed his unfailing luck to his Jewish sweetheart he had when he was young. He was the proverbial smiling pawpaw, never with a long face. Always smiling or laughing.
But it seems that one can have only so much luck before it runs out. His luck finally ran out in 2000 when, at the age of 41, he collected a bullet in his stomach. He was taken to hospital and stabilized but 8 hours later he was in the morgue. The autopsy found that the doctor had pushed a drainage pipe through his heart. With a little better luck, he would have been alive today. As they say, shit happens!
May this day turn out to be very lucky for you.

ANGER AND HOW IT AFFECTS OUR LIVES
With all the dark and negative emotions, again, gifted to us, this sentiment of being angry, is one that most experienced not only once in while but even perhaps how many times in a day when it comes to us.
After reading and or familiarizing myself with this emotion, I am rather convinced that this is in fact a very good feeling, as long as it is not left to an outrageous level.causing us more damage than when and how it started in the first place.
In short don't make it out of control But here is the question, when does our emotions go out of control? How do we monitor and keep it within the accepted level of being positive? While I believe, it is triggered by someone and or something that has done us wrong, how do we address it to become a tool in understanding and or finding a solution to a problem?
I would love to leave so many variables as I am interested in sharing the inherent characteristics of this emotion on our individual experiences.
So do we know when anger is out of hand? What do we normally do to avoid confronting it so it wouldn't escalate to a more serious problem? Lastly when do you consider this emotion to be really positive if at all?
Thank you all for your continued participation on my blogs and I am grateful.
NOTE: In my country, we do have some social interventions for some cases as domestic violence, work harassment and any kind of anger dissertation that can lead to a more serious commitment of major crimes related to this emotion.
Your country may have some programs that is similar and or even better, would you would like to share them?
Thank you so much.
What a depressing bunch of stuff here...wow. Where is the love? People searching for love and friends among the bloggers? Whewwwww. I have not missed anything.
Ive said it once, and I will say it again.
Actions speak louder than words, a small gesture is all it takes,
A blink of an eye, is acknowledgement, a nod of a head is acceptance, little gestures.
It pisses me off, that people do not have manners, you hold a door open, and the person behind you, just glides through, not even lifting their eyes from their mobile, you wait, while someone corrects their parking, just a quick salute, would be nice.
Manners cost nothing, we all have them, well, most of us do.
Insanity is sheer brilliance in disguise.
Stupidity is just that.
A strong will is just stubbornness.
Meek and weak do not have the same meaning.
Being soft is not a weakness.
Thinking and pondering is not the same thing.
To some, thinking may be a new experience.
Hidden beneath the flaws of imperfection is absolute beauty.
Totally ridiculous is better than being plain boring
Pursue the unusual for investigating the ordinary will only uncover monotony. The exceptional will always outshine the conventional.
So if you cant laugh at yourself then call me and I will laugh at you,.......
Bored tonight,........................................................................
There comes the stage in our lives when
